- Hello everyone! This week I re-sand I’m Just Your Problem from Adventure Time/by Marceline/Olivia Olson!
It’s been on the re-cover list for awhile and it feels nice to mark it off! Nothing much to say besides I got a new keyboard and I’m really drawing out this description as an excuse to use it because it sounds so nice. My old one was mechanical too but had really sharp clicks (to the point where it scared my cat) while this one is more clacky and thunky. Anyways.
This ones for the girls and gays.

This song was one of my first “huh” moments in television. I sat in front of the screen and just watched this scene over and over again, obsessively. Now, after all these years, the time has come to do it again with this video 😂
I know, there are just some scenes or some songs that you just watch or listen to over and over again. I love that kind of stuff.

I remember the first time I heard this song I thought it sounded so good but didn't understand it because I was like 9, but I get it now. It's such a fuck you to PB because of how they broke up and I feel that energy radiating from this cover and I love it.

I don't see how commenting on what the song Is about is a "dick move." If you're watching this and haven't seen adventure time up until the point of the episode this song is in and look through the comments and get spoiled that's on you, I shouldn't have to not talk about something just because a small fraction of people who might happen to scroll past this rather small comment will get spoiled on something that the song was already implying, especially with the lyrics at the end. i love this modified version so much. it fits the style and it hits you in the gut so much more than the original ending. it’s so stunning when you sing it. amazing cover!!
The original ending makes more sense though. The door lights up as she's singing about her feelings, and after "why do I want to?" when she says "to bury you in the ground" it stops lighting up because what she actually wants to do is be with Bonnie

This is probably my second favorite, after “Remember You” just because of how brutal “Remember You” is. Because it’s her desperately trying to reconnect with someone who gave her so much, someone who lost his mind to an unknowable power for the sake of protecting her, and he doesn’t even really seem to understand that the lyrics they’re singing is something he wrote, as one last desperate apology to the little girl he tried so hard to protect. Even now, I still tear up when I hear it.
Hearing this updated cover of I’m just your problem is just epic! Not only did you achieve the coolness of this adventure time song in a more slow beat but also just radiated amazingly!!!!!!!

I know in the context of the episode and the show Princess Bubblegum and Marcelne are friends and this was Marci lashing out at a friend. But this is just a heartbreaking song to a girlfriend or SO asking why I am not good enough? Why can't you love me for me? You knew who I was. You knew. This is one of the very few songs from that show that just ruins me. Wonderful job Anna! Just great.
