She ordered the dress 7 months ago and seemed like she made it clear the customizations clear when she bought it. Kind of feel like the store dropped the ball. There shouldn't be any doubt if they could get it done in time, she ordered this 7 months ago. Same things with the straps, huge oversight on their part, did no one measure?

Also, a lot more reality TV is staged than we realise. Wouldn't be surprised if this whole thing was set up to make interesting telly. Those crystal straps would have been killing her all day if she didn't have the fabric underneath, so I wouldn't be surprised if that was the original plan and they brought in some crystal straps they had lying around for some added drama

Besides, many wedding tailors wait to actually do alterations until closer to the wedding in order to secure the best fit in the event that the bride has gained or lost a little weight. Combine that with the fact that it was clearly stated she had already discussed and arranged for the alterations 7months prior when she first purchased the dress shows that the bride took the steps she needed to on her part. It wasn't the shops fault, the bride came in six weeks close to her wedding day with new alterations on top of what was already altered on the dress. And changed what she wanted done to the dress, she also ordered straps for a strapless dress that was clearly too short to go backless. It all backfired in her face because she didn't plan earlier and consult with them before purchasing the straps on her own, if she did they would have been able to tell her the length she should buy. The consultant stated that already, and it was great that she improvised on the spot and still got the bride what she wanted even though it was a ridiculous request. If you want something added you gotta plan ahead and not wait till there's six weeks away till the wedding day.

Maybe...They could have made the straps a halter and it would have been long enough. Also how difficult would it be to just string some crystals together on a satin thread? It could include various shapes and textures even pearls. I could and would have done it no problem

I bought a strapless dress for my wedding because I was told the store could add long, embroidered sleeves to match.
Cut to a year later and I was told that was impossible, 'we don't know who told you that' and had to settle for a tulle wrap to cover my shoulders and upper arms.
The way this bride was told to order those straps then the alterations woman said 'the straps SHE ordered' so pointedly really made my blood boil.

It's like interesting to me how everyone is attacking the seamstress. The bride said she already talked to the manager about the alterations, not the seamstress. Of course the seamstress is stressed and shocked by this. Also, production teams unfortunately send the wrong product all the time so that very well could have been the case here. Also, when someone takes over a job from someone else, you're supposed to be able to trust your team to have done everything correct up until that point and also not to commit to impossible deadlines. It seemed more as this bride was dropped on Christine, not that she was unwilling to help or being rude. She more than likely has a crazy workload if the manager promises things like this on a regular and she's got to make due without pushing any deadlines back. She did a great job handling the situation I think, but the manager should be the one blamed for any mishaps, not Christine. She had nothing to do with it until this appointment.

It really shouldn’t take more than 6 weeks to make new ones. I sew myself, and making straps like those take about an hour or so max (it looks like the crystals are treaded through a a small strip of fabric or sturdy string. ) It may take even less time if you are a very skilled seamstress. Perhaps they don’t have time to find the correct materials or something, but I don’t really understand why it would take so long.
