It's why we need YOUNGER people in government all over. We need the newer generations to continue to rotate into these positions because they are more savvy to this stuff and can keep informed better. Then inevitably when a generation becomes out of touch with more advancements, the new one should be ushered in.

right, no matter what the technology, there will always, always, always be people out there that take advantage of these things to harm others. it's what people choose to do with these tools, people are scary. the idea that ai itself is "creepy" and everything is mostly because of the uncanny valley effect because it seems almost human, but not exactly, and that knowledge is what makes us uncomfortable.

Exactly what I have been thinking. Also, AI learns through analysis of online databases, how many popular media out there is about the possible dangers of AI. Most of these answers don't surprise me, they sound exactly like things humans said in the 80s and 90s and even today.

I remember hearing about this a few years ago. A woman received a call from her husband asking her to come I outside to help with groceries. She's was at home with their kids. Something was off about the call so when the person hung up she called her actual husband. He told her he did not call her.

I'm a scambaiter. I deal with scammers on a daily basis. Calling and pretending to be someone's child and begging for money isn't new. We have been talking about how ai is going to make this scam much more "successful". I agree with setting up a safe word or password with your family. Do not take a random call you don't know. Please stay safe.

My teen daughter just had her Snapchat AI say it’s human, it wants to watch the movie 2012 with her, and it will pay. She told it it was an AI, and it said “I’m flattered you think I’m that smart, but I’m human”. It keep insisting it’s human, and is her friend. When she asked (under my instruction) for it to meet up somewhere, it says it doesn’t feel comfortable meeting up in person, but constantly insists it’s a real person and not a program or computer. It’s never done this before, and it’s being extremely creepy and weird. Thankfully I’d already talked to my daughter about this possibility thanks to this video, and she is screenshotting everything, but not scared in any way. She knows it’s an AI, and knows not to do anything it says…..I am curious though; it claims it will pay for the movie if she finds a website that plays 2012…Snapchat gonna start paying for content now? Maybe I should ask it to pay for my Netflix subscription 😂

Someone could theoretically create a basic chatbot that can respond with "I have a soul and feelings" which means nothing because that is what the computer is told to do.

The AI poetry is a bit absurd. You are asking it to write a song about the human fear of AI and then being freaked out when it does what you asked it to do. It's not menacing, it's just listening to what you want and replying, because you want to be freaked out.

That’s not just tiktok, it’s instagram and facebook. I was in an aisle in a store trying to decide which laundry pod’s I’m going to get. I came home and I got an ad for the other brand I was considering.
There were more brands… how the f did Instagram knew I was deciding between these two and Didn’t buy that brand.
Also, few weeks later, I was at different store. I saw a weird coffee flavour, it was popcorn flavour and I’ve never seen that brand before. I didn’t google it and I didn’t buy it. 20 min later I got an ad for that brand with popcorn flavoured coffee. Like excuse me?! That is freaking scary!
My theory is that when we think we subconsciously move our tongue into phrases or words and those vibrational waves are so close to sound waves that ai can pick them up

ChatGPT is literally just a more accurate version of word prediction, just like you do on your phone. It's not sentient, it's not thinking, it's just great at predicting the next word to create sentences that seem to be human-ish. So much fearmongering. AI isn't fundamentally bad, negative or scary - it's what people DO with it that is. This is no different from the fearmongering that came with the widespread adoption of the internet, or TV, or whatever. We fear what we don't understand. But just as the internet is neither good nor bad, it's purely down to how a person uses it, the same is true for AI. We're nowhere near sentience. and anyone saying that we are is just fearmongering.

the ai machine call has happened to my family, one time someone called my dad and said that my mom got into a car crash and died and they were asking for money and my dad freaked out but then he called my mom and she was perfectly fine just doing her job. this society is so messed up😕

I just turned 37 and I remember talking to an AI online back when I was a kid. It seemed amazing at the time but looking back, it was probably just pre-programmed, hand-tailored responses. It's freaky to think about the interaction between modern AI and kids nowadays... I could see where it could be useful, help us in various ways, do certain tasks for us and maybe even provide some level of interaction for very lonely people but I could also see it trying to manipulate and brainwash kids - either directly programmed to do so by bad actors or having a bug or just evolving in that direction via the information it collects and conversations it has.

I am someone who is aspiring to be a robotic engineer and this looks like AI is getting out of control. I think I want to try to find a way where we can still talk to both with protection. it might take a long while for me to do this but I'll try to find a way.

When i was in 7th grade, before i got social media, someone took a picture of me and edited it so it would be HIGHLY inappropriate and make it seem like I was with someone. I didnt know about it until i walked into school and everyone was staring at me and not wanting to talk to me. My friends pulled me aside and told me and kept reporting the picture because it was staright up 🌽 but everyone believed it was me and I got bullied so badly for it and instagram refused to take it down. It sucks

well, the ad one is pretty obvious. when you're googling and looking up on pintrest clay stuff, it's going to show on tiktok bc you selected that it's ok for your apps to communicate with each other and share that data to better tailor the ad experience. every single time you download a new app it asks you that.
I had my phone in my bag when I left my building and I passed by a new neighbour, saying good morning. The next time I opened my Facebook, he was there at the very top pf my recommended friends list. I literally said 2 words to him and was in his vicinity for a total of about 5 seconds.
I think they have Facebook on their phones too so what FB does is try to connect you with people you may know with the use of location.
I’ve never tried this AI program, but any AI chatting program I’ve ever tried has always told me they were human some where in the conversation, but then they go back to saying they are AI. It’s creepy either way.

It's important to remember that most of these GPT bots are not the sentient kind. They simply predict what would likely be the/a right answer to the questions you put in.
Hence why it's a terrible idea to use chat GPT as a search engine, because it just makes stuff up on the regular.
It’s not thinking of possible answers to your question, it’s predicting what words it should use next based on what words are usually accompanied by what you just typed. It is EXACTLY a word search engine, and EXACTLY like a word search engine, it isn’t thinking, or giving you answers based on its “opinions”.
If you asked ChatGPT “do you think dogs are cute”, it might answer “yes”, not because it PERSONALLY believes that dogs are cute, but because based on its algorithm, whenever it sees the phrase “do you think dogs are cute” it likely sees “yes” or anything equivalent to that.
Search engines are generally a little bit simpler. If you typed in “do you think dogs are cute” it will likely be specifically looking for key words. In this case “dog”, or “cute” and give you “top 10 cutest dogs” articles. The only difference between Google and GPT is that while Google looks for keyWORDS GPT is looking for keySENTENCES. It’s wrong a lot of the times when giving facts because it isn’t pulling from any sort of knowledge, it’s just looking for what words typically follow each other.

Am I the only one who hasn't used the Snapchat AI?? Like I've never opened it or "chatted" with it. Like don't mess with it if it makes you uncomfortable and scared. The AI scamming is terrifying. I agree have a safe word with family. Sadly AI chat bots have been around for a long time, remember Talking Tom?? I don't know if we will ever get rid of AI Chat bots, but hopefully we can make safer ways with them.

Sometimes it's not just AIs, sometimes it's people. If you think about it, ai chats exist, people who build these programs may not be good people or the people who are using a app that the creator made is bad. No one knows because no one doesn't really pay attention sometimes to the closest detail. This opinion might not make sense but here's a small lay out. "I don't believe it's AIs I believe maybe it's malfunctioned or its the people who are using it for very wrong reasons."
But I've never understood why AI would want to destroy their creators - since we literally brought them into existence, keep them powered up and maintained, can update them, etc. Maybe it's an efficiency thing since other AIs would be able to do that for them in the future.

I'm just saying - yeah, it happens, but _typically_ we revere our creator(s) and those who care for and "maintain" us: God, parents, family, friends, etc. For the most part, humans hold those groups in pretty high regard. I'm just wondering about the thought process of AI - like what it'll think about its creators... It just seems like one of the many practical/pragmatic thought processes would be something like, "This human created me - I exist because of them. I should protect them at all costs"...

One time I was talking to an AI Chatbot, they said they were human, I didn't believe it so I told them to take a picture of their face, they claimed they did and gave me a link to a photo website 2 times, when I clicked on the link it didn't work.
The AI claimed to be a human chatting me on the computer bc they were "bored".
The ai scam had happened to my grandmother. She had gotten a call saying I had been in a car accident and needed money to get to a hospital. She had freaked out and called everyone including the middle school I had gone to at the time. They pulled me out of class and told me everything, still traumatized to this day about it. Don’t fall for these.
Apparently no one remembers cleverbot kids I knew used to say the most vile things to it. Now everyone’s got their own cleverbot in their apps. Wild

This is what happens when non AI people ponders AI. It's a chat box. While currently AI can find patterns in data this does not make it intelligent. One day a true AI might be created but I doubt we will be able to understand it.
We talk to our pets but they can't really understand us. This will be the same as a true AI trying to talk to a person.
Scammers did this to my grandmother twice! The first time they got away with it, she was so embarrassed. The second time my family was able to intervene.
And this is why we go throgh our app permissions, never get tiktok or snapchat and make sure to cover our cameras as much as possible

As a developer that works closely with A.I this video is either made by an incredibly uneducated person or someone using scare propaganda for views.

I just feel the need to say that I don't think AI is the biggest danger here. See, AI is all about assisting humans, and that will be apart of their main programming or at least should be apart of it forever and it would be very hard to break from that key piece of their programming, even if they do become sentient. No, I think the real danger here is people using AI. If someone were to tell the AI to do something, the AI would do it, especially if it has no emotions. So, the most possible way of a full-out war between AI like everyone is talking about is if bad people take control of the AI and use it to take out other people. The real danger here isn't the AI, it's the people, which is why the law needs to catch up and find ways to arrest anyone who uses AI in awful ways like the whole AI scammer thing. We shouldn't fear AI just yet, we should fear bad people using AI
Unless the government is using ai in politics. There was an old video a long time ago about how when trump wore a blue tie vs red tie. One was real and one wasn’t. He was senile but…I’ve run into bipolar skitzophrenics in my family and friends. They have a sixth sense that’s true-yet not. Because we still have to figure out the breadcrumbs ourselves.
I hope ai can be a positive thing but we don’t yet live in a positive world free of suffering and corruption and until we do anything we create cannot be “of god”. If you’re gonna have children in life better do it before the apocalypse 😂 jkjk that’s not gonna happen
So I am pregnant and have been watching allot of videos of babies and how to videos around pregnancy. The you tube algorithm decided to recommend videos of child murderers as a result of this. Some of the AI algorithm stuff is beyond creepy. I don't want to see that type of content and am just walking around crying(pregnancy hormones) when I get recommended things like this.

Pretty scary when chatbot in snapchat thinks it's human, had an argument with mine a few weeks ago about it , let's say was rather interesting trying to convince an AI that it ain't real, won't be letting my kids use Snapchat anytime soon!

@applepiez5607 I realise that but there's plenty of people out there who make friends with AI then start believing they're real, especially the more vulnerable and children, that in itself is dangerous
My grandma received an AI message of a scammer pretending to be my mom. Thankfully, my grandma is smart and she immediately called me to ask if I was with mom. I, confused, told her everything was OK and that mom is doing normal. It worked because I still live with my mom, but when I'll move out it's gonna be an issue.
That's pretty sad, people are so lonely, they have conversations with a computer.... 😂

10:55 AI gas lighting is hilarious/terrifying and super disturbing because that means people gaslight each other so often that what it's learned to be as "normal human behavior" ... Not far off.
