Kayla and Matt, I wanted to thank you for this video! This is my 3 rd one in a week . I love it, I love it! I am 77 and you two make me happy! So go get the bargains and keep on living each other and having fun. Love you guys! ❤
That was a very sweet comment! I also look forward to the 3 videos each week too! They are great! Very nice fun couple, so fun to watch, I’ve been watching lately with my 11 year old granddaughter, she likes them too. She loves to see the toys they find! ❤😊
I’m 75 and love these two also. They usually have two or three videos a week and I look forward to them very much. They did this separately before they got together and now found each other and merged their families. Both are good people. Great fun!!
OMG the wise owl glass bank I had as a kid, I saved and saved for a bike I wanted then grampa ended up getting me the bike for my 10th birthday, a yellow mag BMX huffy I think it was. But I loved that bank, had to break it open to get everything out
Holy cow! What awesome finds today! When that nice man told his story about his wife passing( you could just hear the sadness in his voice) and then invited you in to see the owl collection to sell it OMGoodness! Levi was the sweetest pup too. I enjoyed this video so much! Love the content! I will say it again, you two are the best pickers!
I had one of those mini Lane chests. They gave them to every senior in our school. It is a lil memory hope chest. I had my tassel and pics and other momentos in it for a long time.
Yes, my older sisters got them too. From the days when young ladies were supposed to have hope chests, the small one was their start toward that larger one that came with marriage
@@NanaColeen I agree. Sometimes when Kayla calls women "Dear", it makes me cringe, haha. For some reason calling anyone "dear" seems to me like you are calling them old. 🤣
South Louisiana gal here! I completely get what she is saying. When the young people started calling me mam regularly around 35ish it took some getting used too! I was like 😭 Now I love it. And when I say mam to my 8 year old she gets upset because she isn't old enough to be a mam in her opinion 😂
I truly look forward to both of your uploads. You are a bright spot for me, I lost my daughter coming up on a year and not much makes me happy anymore, save your videos. Thank you! ❤🥲
So sorry, I lost my daughter 6 years ago and my son 3 years ago. There are no words to express the pain, it certainly does change everything, very hard to find happiness as once known. It changes you.
The green fish jug is calls a ‘gluggle jug ‘ Because as you pour the water out the air that’s trapped causes the fish to make a ‘glug’. Sound , try it before you sell it xxx I love watching you both , in the UK
All senior girls received one of those little Lane chests at graduation from high school. A local furniture store gave them to us. Seeing the video brought back great memories.
Yes. I follow some youtubers who keep buying the over priced cross breeds that all end in oodle. I wish they would use their influence to encourage people to rescue instead of giving money to back yard breeders who are only in it for the $$$$$
Kayla Matt what a marvelous sale you found.the owls beautiful. Just beautiful. The gentleman so kind. The cans really nice at the other sale too. The both of you so happy such great resale.
The Lane wooden box was given to girls when they graduated from high school by local furniture companies, hoping they would buy the big cedar hope chest!
You are right! My Dad worked at our local Furniture store & each of us 3 Daughters received one at Graduation from High School, back in late 60’s to early 70’s!
Omg. His wife had some fabulous pottery and porcelain. The Roseville pieces were gorgeous. I hope he gets a good price for them. Fenton, Nippon, so many antique and vintage pieces. She was a true collector.
You so right. Those things would have been a bargain. And brought in so much more $ than the new trinkets. Antiques are coming back right now. They should start with learning pottery and colored glassware.
I feel really old when people don’t know what a beeper is.! That was my first job as an engineer, designing pagers for Motorola. Best company and job ever!
Wow that gentleman was so kind and fare with his prices. You aught to earn some great profits with that haul….it will be fun to watch the outcome. Thanks for the entertainment!
I was going to say this is definitely true in the south but farther north I've been it's more of an insult. In my own personal experience, that is how it went when I was up North I said yes ma'am and the lady said she wasn't old enough to be ma'am yet. I explained to her where I lived it's meant as a sign of respect no matter the age of the lady. A very young lady is called ma'am here as well as an older lady. It's just a slight cultural difference I guess.
Thank you for a wonderful long vlog, I love watching you both so much. I’ve spent a week in Dartmouth,England every year for 40 years, the pottery where I watched those fish being made by hand has long long since closed down. Love to you both K🇬🇧❤️❤️
Hi from NH. I love the way Kayla loves a nice trash can. I do too! Why a nice man to let you into his home. The owls were a great buy. Productive shopping day for you guys.
The estate home that was first on this video was loaded with vintage and collectable glass. When you walked into the garage, all I could focus on was the back wall with the green/blue glass cake pedestal, etc. tin ware all on the left in the garage as well as what looked like white ceramic/pottery or even milk glass. Basement fireplace room had a whole wall of old toys, little pink tin toy stove. that home was a glory hole of glassware and old china & ceramic. OMG, you meet the sweetest people. The gentleman with all the owls and the sweet older dog, Levi; well they were both just adorable. Great video, I enjoyed it so much.
Love watching your videos. I’m a full time eBay seller also. Helps supplement since I retired earlier than I’d ordinarily planned. I, like you, buy what I like and see value in. Don’t specialize in anything in particular. So fun.
Oh my goodness Kayla, everytime I hear ma’am, I think of the episode of Wings when the delivery guy calls Helen ma’am. 😂😂😂😂 You’ll have to look it up. I think the episode is called Hey Nineteen. You will laugh so much. Levi is such a sweet dog. My little dog keeps running to the tv trying to play with him. 😂
The little Lane cedar boxes were given to graduating high school students way back in the 50-80’s. At least in our small town. Still have mine from 79.
The little Lane cedar “chest” was once a gift for high school seniors. My sister has one just like that and I really wanted one also but by the time I was a senior they had stopped giving them.
You guys are the perfect example of the relationship I’d want haha. I need someone to go thrifting and flea market w me , with the same passion. That’d be dope.
The mini lane chest was given to Seniors when they graduated. I don’t know when they quit, but I got mine in ‘84. I also got a hope chest filled with things I needed going off to college/living in my own. I actually still have it.
I am working a sale, starting today where, I kid you not, there are over 500 owls! Owl candles, drawer pulls, drinking glass (22k gold overlay), clocks, pillows, wood carvings, brass, trash cans, and the list goes on (and on and on). We stopped trying to find room in a huge room just for the owls and, as we uncovered more owls, we just put them on any random surface available.
My mom was married in 1950 and was given one of those Lane chests from the local furniture store as a wedding gift. All the sibs fought over it when she passed
I love watching your videos! I work for a charity in the UK we’re only small and today I saw we had Pinocchio Christmas light covers and I remember you brought some covers in a previous video so I got really excited and will be putting them on eBay soon!
When you visit Moreno Italy they will tell you that most items in the US marked Moreno are not really Moreno. They say that there’s no way Moreno produced that much glass especially the stuff in the last 30 years as there’s not that many blowers to create that much glass.
The variety of textures in the kislux bags is impressive. From smooth leather to textured suede, there is something for everyone. I was also attracted by it. The price is not expensive, which is very attractive!
That man was so kind, what a nice fella! I wonder if he'd be sad if he knew you were selling them. I would of told him about taking off the prices, probably would of been grateful for the advise.
That fish planter was a hobby ceramics piece, a copy of the original antique ones. When I had my ceramics shop I used the exact same glaze. In order to get those blobs of color there are actually chunks of color in the glaze. Gosh I wish you would go back and get those celluloid jewelry boxes!!!!
Murano is an island in the city of Venice, Italy where Venetian glass is made. Your piece has the label still intact and is marked Venezia, (Venice), good pick !
The necklace that was on the table with the big red Chunky. Beads, the almost clear ones those could have been bakelite. Those necklaces are selling for around four hundred dollars apiece.
Love love your videos. Please keep them comming. The both of you are extra sweet parents. You put your children fist while making a living. God is truly good to us all.
I've been watching you two for quite some time and I just bought your gorgeous inlaid Persian trinket box! I'm so excited! I enjoy watching all your videos. I look forward to catching each one!
The beaded necklace might be murano beads . I did not see them fully ,but they do sell beads for jewelry making . Or they can be be fully made into a necklace . Hope they are !😊💖
Kayla, you crack me up!. “We don’t want to have to ship 87 million trash cans” 🤣🤣🤣. I really enjoy your videos and shopping all these wonderful estate sales 😀.
The miniature Lane cedar chests were salesman samples that they gave to girls when they graduated to promote the regular size as hope chests. I learned that from the Niche Lady. You passed by one at the first estate sale at 2:30, but maybe it would have been too pricey at that sale. Glad you got the second one.
Carin gnomes are really cool. I was coming from Niagara Falls Canada and we stopped at a place that was just loaded with carin gnomes. There was hundreds of them with their coins on them.
At 33:49 camera passes over a little record player believe it was a fisher price I am in Australia picked up the same with records in a free box out the front of a thrift store as it was dusty, gave it a clean up and sold on eBay for $80 AUD so $40odd US plus ship to the USA (shipping was 😱) but point is obviously it's a sort after toy in the USA sold within half hour of listing, can't remember all the details on it but would definately pick up again if I ever found another
The small Lane cedar chest was a promo from the local furniture/jewelry store to high school graduating girls. I have a number of them from small towns across the upper Midwest. I guess that they were to encourage them to buy a full size Hope Chest.
The miniature Lane cedar chest were given free to lady’s that graduated. The graduate received a coupon they could turn in at the Lane showroom for a free chest. Most are made out of cedar, but the newer ones were made out of pine.
