    A hook is a punch to the side, it cannot start from the center. When you DO throw one, you have to ready it to the side. Kinda like a

    The L being the arm you punch with
    A hook is intended to strike the sides of an opponent. Are you doing that mentally? Is the opponent directly opposite you?
    Do you know what the concept of shadowboxing is?
    On further inspection, your guard is a bit too wide (imo, i got short hands) compact it, keep your elbows more inward, hands more forward. Makes it harder for an opponent to throw a punch.
    Second off, why sre you leaving your hands out? Pull them back quicker for a faster reload. All you leaving a punch out like that is just something to push away and a side to enter from(good speed near the end tho)
