The year was 1998. I was a Hotel Management Student in India undergoing my training in the beautiful Rambagh Palace Hotel in Jaipur, home to the erstwhile royals of Jaipur.
And many a times I ran into Mahrani Gayatri Devi and the Jaipur royal family who used to dine at the hotel very frequently!
Funfact- The popular Vogue magazine added Maharanis’ to the list of the 10 most beautiful women in the world during 1950s!
And I a 17 year old boy used to be a steward(in training) in a restaurant which used to host the royal family of Jaipur all the time. Always used to wonder where life is going to take me, always a bit awkward!
Here I am 26 yrs later, listening to this gem after decades and thinking of those summer evenings of 1998 amidst the chilly weather in Bay Area!

Love Yanni but this sounded a little off - He stopped a few times like he hesitated, I hope he is ok. :(
I believe this is one of his more difficult pieces because as far as I know he's never performed it at any of his big concerts. This is my favorite Yanni tune.
I think he just lacked a bit of practice at the time of this performance.
