When she said she was donating to the Ronald House it made me feel joyful. I work at a McDonalds and I personally am in charge of emptying the donation boxes every week. Ever since the pandemic, the drive-thru box has been completely filled and we have collected more money for the charity recently than what we used to collect. True makes me happy that people can still be so generous during this time.

From an adult that has done the Marie Kondo folding method, I immediately started doing this with my clothes! It especially got me to donate a lot of clothes I didn't need anymore that was just SHOVED into a drawer. I also took her recommendation of using some cute delivery boxes (I've used boxes from Coloupop, AdoreMe, FashionNova, because they have cute packaging to store my undergarment drawer with! I have a box for underwear, bras, and whole Fashion Nova box stuffed to the brim with bathing suits. It has definitely kept me a bit more organized and definitely helps me decide what I do wear and what I don't wear. There were so many things I wanted to take from Marie, but this is the one I've been hugely consistent with!
Colleen should do a section of her vlogs called 'Colleen's Kitchen' where she just shows us what she's making/ how to make things coz idk I think that would be cool🤣
During all this quarantine stuff I’ve been really stressed. But just sitting down and watching colleens vlogs makes me feel so much better. Love you Colleen!
So this sounds silly, but for my son every time I go through his clothes and get ready to donate I keep four outfits that were my favorite. I have them set aside separate from the clothes we will donate. This way, I am not hoarding, but I also have some sentimental memories of how tiny my little boy was! My son just turned 3 at the start of this quarantine so I feel you about clothes! And thanks for the slow cooker meal ideas!

Speaking as someone who 's parents are both clutterers, going through your clothes often is super important! It ok to hold on to a couple sentimental items, but when you're considering giving something away think of the person that will own the item next and how much they will need/enjoy it❤ That always helps me to be more willing to let something go

re: "the worst is yet to come"-- girl, it's true! you can read tons of medical journals about what would happen in a pandemic like this to get a better idea of predictions, but be prepared for the rest of this year at least to be this way. likely November/December, maybe even January. This isn't necessarily because of the virus itself, but mostly our lacking health infrastructure to be able to recover from this. When things start to reopen, it will have to be done *very* gradually, very carefully. This is why we can expect large mass gatherings (like shows and concerts) to come back last. I honestly HOPE I'm wrong, but I have a ton of medical professionals in my family who read the med journals and this is a well-backed timeline. BUT the more people ignore the data/stay-at-home orders, the longer it'll take!! So please everyone reading this, encourage everyone you know to stay put as much as possible for their situation! Those of us who still have to go to work are depending on us to stay home to make it safer
I waited a couple years before I cut my son's hair and even longer for my daughter. I wish I would have waited even longer cause I miss when my boy was a curly fluff head. It was half way down his back but the curls were so tightly curled it would barely go below his shoulders. I loved it and it is still a regret. Also I have a hard time getting rid of things for me of my kids. They are now 10 and 6. I have a lot of stuff now but I'm getting ready to move so I'm purging hardcore starting tomorrow cause we just got the news on the house today. I'm so excited. So a whole different emotional rollercoaster is about to start with the purging, moving and the state of the world worrying about my children's future. You know, Mom Life. 😊

My son just turned 1 last month and has been wearing 18-24 mo. clothes for the past few months. He’s now moving on up into 2T. Girl, Flynn is perfect, there are kids younger and bigger then him ❤️
Ronald McDonald houses are AMAZING! Our daughter has TOF/PA and has had two open heart surgeries. We stayed at the RMH for a week for each surgery while she was in PICU. It was so nice to have a room right in the same wing of the hospital so we could still be close. We always donate to them every year. ❤️
colleen, I do the same organization technique for my clothing drawers and im 16! so I know who you feel when after a while the drawer you start to get lazy and you have to reorganize everything
My mom saves the clothes that were sentimental and from birthdays and holidays and stuff and it is so fun to look through, highly recommend for you to do for Flynn, it’s fun to look through it now that I’m 20 and be like wow I was small, plus when he gets older he can choose whether or not he wants them and if he wants them you can get it made into a quilt which is what we might do when quarantine is done
