    I can't tell how it felt to be a Fang fan, finally happy to see him in a game again, just to be greeted by two for the worst bosses ever.

    I think what made the bosses in sonic rush better than superstars is that there are attacks that are fun to avoid to raise the stakes, along with great music. The bosses in superstars have attacks that just arent that fun to evade and the fact that you have to do it so many times just makes it rather burdensome.

      @jemmyoti9602 Agreed! Sonic rush’s bosses were a bit annoying and time-consuming imo, but I liked them leagues better than the superstars ones! The superstars bosses just felt, idk, really lacking and not executed too well. Rush at least gives you a bit of a challenge when dodging attacks, in superstars it feels like a chore :(

      @NanaPlaysGames88 what makes superstars bosses worse though is that considering that 1, you can't wail on them, and 2, the window to attack is always so miniscule, being super in the bosses is absolutely meaningless, because the reward of the superform includes being able to break through bosses butter smooth, but because they waste your time, and you only get one attack, your rings will just eat away, and you'll become worse off from when you started. Funny enough, the first boss was immune to this problem, because the window to attack was fairly big, unlike most of the other ones.

      @ I never thought about it, but you’re right! A super form is really pointless if you’re not allowed to speed through bosses. Earning a super form in superstars is brought down by the fact that the bosses always take longer than they should on top of the invincibility frames the bosses have after every hit. Like I said, a mechanic like that could’ve worked if they implemented it better

    I dont care what others say Sonic 3 and Knuckles is my favorite Sonic game and it has my favorite Sonic bosses of all time

      @@andrewvanover9747 It’s my favorite Sonic game too! It has some really good bosses imo like Doomsday, Big Arms, and the “Final” boss. I didn’t like every boss it had to offer but it tried and that’s what’s important! It’ll always be one of my favorite games ever and I always have fun with it :)

    I think the bosses in superstars are easily the worst in the series, even if I do like that game quite a bit. I like the idea of using the mechanics introduced in the stage like the clown guy where you have to hit the casino circle thingies but it’s just executed shittily unfortunately, most classic bosses I would consider inoffensive though even if they are lackluster. I also think chaotix is interesting cause the bosses have really cool designs and ideas but the execution is just ehhh

    0:35 all of these problems you just mentioned are something the 3D sonic bossfights also suffer from they can either be too hard or too easy like sonic colors' final bossfight was piss easy and then sonic frontiers' bossfights (final horizon) are just freaking too hard!! like...the difficulty was imbalanced seems like sonic team took the criticism abit too far and went extreme on it! you know sometimes when they do take criticisms they take wrong lessons from them... and also sometimes they are not creative like...just look sonic lost world and sonic forces final bossfights it's literally a rehash from sonic colors' final bossfight!! like that just shows those games were budgeted titles nad mid budget production they had.

      @@JakeThehedgehog-m1x Sonic team has a tendency of taking advice too far or not thinking of it enough. 3D bosses have the same issues as the 2D ones, but they’re…very different and the same, if that makes sense? Seems like the 3D bosses have a more solid grasp on what a boss fight should actually be (presentation and mechanic-wise) though they usually range between too easy and too hard :)

      I think colors boss fight was great it was pretty easy but it worked well it used what we already know about the wisps so when ever you hear those yells when the nega wisp armor attack you know what to expect it builds on what we learned throughout the game which wasn’t a thing for a long time for most sonic final bosses ever since SA2, every final boss changes the moveset drastically and just plops you in with no time for preparation.

    I very heavily disaagree. Sonic bosses being too hard would make the game not fun. I hear some people call Sonic bosses bad all the time and I just don't agree. Plus the bosses being easy kinda plays into the Eggman being really smart but also a huge dork thing.

    • @NanaPlaysGames88
      @NanaPlaysGames88  День назад +1

      @@Nyaalexi I understand! Like I said, not all of the 2D bosses are bad, nor are they bad because they’re “too easy”. There’s a bit more to it than that, though I do get why you’d like them! I dislike very few bosses, I’m more or less indifferent about the “bad” ones I talked about in this video :)

    I think it's hard to truly understand what exactly makes a boss "bad" unless you show an example of a good boss. You said "many" of the bosses but, unless I missed it, you didn't include an example of a good 2D Sonic boss, which I'm still curious about.

    • @NanaPlaysGames88
      @NanaPlaysGames88  День назад

      @@equinoxo8813 I did say that a lot of the bosses from Sonic Rush Adventure were good, usually based on the fact that they gave you freedom (not 100% but just enough) to move around and defeat bosses at your own leisure. That they aren’t hard, but don’t feel like you’re waiting for them to be over and have you constantly moving around. Maybe I should’ve been more specific and focused on one boss from the game in particular?

    I think there are only 3 or 4 2D Sonic games that have great bosses all across the board and those are S3&K, Rush Adventure, Advance 2*, Sonic CD. Advance 2 has an asterisk because its bosses being endless runners are fun but the sky canyons bosses hand is bs. 3&k’s bosses get heavily carried by just how great the insta shield is. Sonic CD bosses pretty creative and you can blaze right past them if you know what you’re doing and it ain’t that easy so I give it points. And I don’t need to explain rush adventure. Most sonic bosses in general suffer from being too easy or too hard, to me the best sonic bosses usually are endless runners there are exceptions but those usually come from different play styles like King Boom Boom, the egg golem*, any werehog boss (especially egg dragoon), and etc.

      @NanaPlaysGames88  День назад

      @@Jolynesimpnumber4 Even though I thought some of S3&Ks bosses were a bit lacking, the insta-shield does come in handy and makes the experience 100 times more bearable (it’s kinda OP and I love it :)) It’s not just the 2D titles with bad bosses or bosses that can be better though. I’d want to explore that in the future :)
