I was searching ebay for a replacement for my 25+ yr old Dremel that needed a new switch. A new switch was around $25. There are some that look exactly like my 395 that Dremel doesn't make anymore. They look just like the one you showed but have different names on them, Gowaxi being one of them. There are even some that say Dremel on them. I bought the cheapest one of them called Wan Sheng Da. It's almost a one to one clone of the 395. The shaft for the chuck is a different size than my Dremel so my keyless chucks don't fit. I paid $18, with tax and free shipping, for it with no accessories other than a few bits and a pair of brushes. I've only had it for a week or so but I think it's a decent rotary tool and works as good as my old Dremel. Especially at that price.
This was an incredibly helpful video! I just received this from Amazon, so I appreciate you taking the time to review & demonstrate how it works! Thank you 😊
Thank you. This was a huge help to me. Not only as a product review, but as a general introduction to rotary tools. I just ordered this GOXAWEE kit for an upcoming DIY bushcraft knife modding project. Thanks again for your time, and expertise.
The diamond cutting disc work well for cutting some stone/rock. Anything on the rotary tool can be very dangerous. This is why you use very carefully and wear ppe.
So all of these that are listed on Amazon show it coming with a disk set that can cut through metal and the container has a green lid, but the one my mom bought doesn't have that even though it's the exact same model. I see yours doesn't either and I'm really confused why it didn't come with one
Awesome review and explanation brother... this is the first one I've used and honestly didn't know how to install the flex shaft properly before this. Thank you!
Thanks for the videos, solid work. Could you share your 1st choice of rotary tool that 1) is not a Dremel and 2) has at least one category decrease of unit price from that of Dremel's (or read as: "is cheaper")?
Thanks this was the most informative 👍 video. I could find on this goxawee ! I've never used a rotary tool before, So when I received this 😳 With all those pieces I was a little overwhelmed! So thanks for the lesson on rotary tool for dummys.. it really helped
I’ve just bought this, cheers for doing the review, I bought it to use the burrs but so far I can’t get it to go through the wood at all, after the seeing the drill bit I’m now wondering if they are just rubbish quality, have you tried yours?
it IS a Dremel tho. oh and that's why you shouldn't bit your finger nails. You would not have had trouble getting that out if you would have had a little bit of a nail. i mean finger nails come in handy a lot i don't understand why some ppl don't want them.
Dremel is a brand name...but a rotary tool is a generic name. LOL...I don't bite the nails nor do i wish to have claws. Thanks for your concern though.
This thing spins up to some needlessly high rpm on notch 1. I have one of these. If you are polishing or removing rust from old farm equipment this is for you. Gadget and model makers/3d printer users be warned. Also on the lowest speed it gives an irritating ultra high pitched whine that a video can't quite convey. Otherwise very good build quality.
You use time in the video to bend and throw away the saw blades but dont say why you think they are dangerous? A simple explanation would have been helpful. Any of these bits can be dangerous. Whats your point.
This tool is dangerous. They have a faulty locking mechanism allowing mandrels and cutting discs to fly off. They also heat up quickly and there is at least one case if an electrical fire due to this.
Painful watching you struggle to get items out of the case! You move so much your camera can not focus, and half the time you aren’t even holding items in camera view. Soooo, frustrating as someone who wants to see and learn!

I just received this rotary and I used it already to polish my barrel feed ramps and it works great.
What is a 'barrel feed ramp'?

This video is exactly what I was looking for. Just got it for Christmas and I am excited to us it, but first, I need to learn how.
At about the 8 minute mark; why do u think the saw blades are dangerous?

Would it work well with oxidation on cooper? Removing it?
What chucks fit this, I need to buy a new one but cant find one that fits. Anybody had the same problem.
What about use for rocks?
Yes, i couple years ago I gave one to my granddaughter for that exact purpose. I bought her a bag of rocks from Dollar Tree for practicing.
I needed a tool to make fairy houses and got the smaller version..found another option so I will use it to polish rocks ect
Thanks alot!
You're welcome!
Not go-ax-ee, because you'd need to swap the X and A. Gox-A-Wee. Just ordered one based your review, thanks!
From one Carl to another, thank you for great video. Was just delivered
Glad you enjoyed it!
when i put the diamond tip in and have it locked in place.....as soon as I turn it on the diamond tip comes loose???????
Why are the blades you threw away dangerous??

Yes, the drill bits are rubbish but luckily the replacements are inexpensive. I like mine and will not have an issue using it in the future.
Can it cut like solid items ?

How do you get goaxawee out of Goxawee?
Which bit should I use to drill a hole in an oyster shell?
Great video thanks for your help.
Glad it helped
my only beef is where to buy compatible look like saw blades etc
Most home improvement stores sell the accessories...one example is Dremel.

Exactly I would have emptied that box and flipped it over first time I opened it
That would have made more sense,
Thanks for watching.
Take it very helpful what you do takes all the guess work out of everything keep doing what you do
came to see how to install cutting disk but you didn't
My parents got 1 thinking it was the same as a dremel
Dude, it's called "brand association" Get over it. Otherwise, great video.

Gox-a-wee
There's a video on here where a structural engineer shows his injury from a flying piece from this tool
