CLIP DESCRIPTION:
Mrs. Doubtfire (Robin Williams) engages in various activities like fending off a mugger, playing soccer, and gazing at chicks.
FILM DESCRIPTION:
Robin Williams learns that keeping in touch with his children can be a drag in this hit comedy. Daniel Hillard (Williams) is an eccentric actor who specializes in dubbing voices for cartoon characters. Daniel is a kind man and a loving father, but he's a poor disciplinarian and a shaky role model. After throwing an elaborate and disastrous birthday party for his son, Daniel's wife Miranda (Sally Field) reaches the end of her patience and files for divorce. Daniel is heartbroken when Miranda is given custody of the children, and he's only allowed to visit them once a week. Determined to stay in contact with his kids, Daniel learns that Miranda is looking for a housekeeper, and with help from his brother Frank (Harvey Fierstein), a makeup artist, Daniel gets the job disguised as Mrs. Iphegenia Doubtfire, a stern but caring Scottish nanny. Daniel pulls off the ruse so well that neither his ex-wife nor his children recognize him, and in the process, he learns how to be the good parent he should have been all along. However, Daniel also has to deal with the little matter of Miranda's new boyfriend, Stu (Pierce Brosnan).

Scared off a mugger, flipped off James Bond, cooked a seafood banquet, rocked out on a vacuum cleaner and still finds time to read to Matilda. All in a day's work for Mrs. Doubtfire! Miss you Robin Williams!

I actually watched that bit at a quiet library for study break...bad mistake
Yeah, that was pretty funny.
I love that part as well man I'm laughing a storm right now
TRIVIA: The dancing parts were not in the Original Script. Robin Williams told the Director that he wanted to do some dancing in the film and they worked it into the Montage.
Matt Thornton and became one of the best parts
Matt Thornton The Funny Thing Is Robin Williams Wasn't Listing To Aerosmith He Was Listing To Jimi Hendricks

Matt Thornton that is true
Matt Thornton Really? That's cool. And it worked nicely.

I will be horrified if they dare to remake this classic!
Crazy Cat Let us hope they would NEVER EVER butcher this classic by doing a remake! Hollywood has been doing that shit A LOT lately and frankly I'm tired of it. Classics such as this one, or ANY movies with Robin Williams in it NEED to be left alone!!! They are perfect just the way they are and we don't need any of today's horrible and overrated male actors redoing any of Robin William's beloved characters.
Yeah they might even put in Bruce Jenner or some sick scumbag. This movie should remain untouched and unchanged. Just leave it alone people.
What a brilliant idea, let remake all of Robin Williams
NB ---- 'Tis a joke, no one should remake his films
If this movie was remade in this current time, they'd probably CGI Mrs Doubtfire, because apparently no movies can exist now without some obligatory CGI crap. What a shitty time for cinema.
If they even have the thought, we the fans need to protest with ALL OUR MIGHT.
I was ten yrs. old and went to see this in the theater with a friend and her mom. There was not one empty seat in that room, and everyone roared with laughter together at almost every damn scene. When it was over we all cheered. I will never forget the energy in there, it was extraordinary.
So was I…I’m 38 now…my God how time flies…you 38 as well?
At the end of the movie when Miranda listens to the show Daniel as Mrs Doubtfire responding to a girl named Katie’s letter about her parents divorce, it’s very hard not to get choked up from that. Other than this this movie is hysterical.
@@islanders1329fan I'm 26... I just watched this movie on Saturday & I honestly cried. So sad to know theres no movies out there like this anymore, no more actors as good as Robin. All the good actors are stopping their careers like Bruce Willis😢 oh my, I wish I could've been born before 1995. The 90's had so many classics

when i was a kid i thought he said broke my bag the pasta
Whenever I hear this song, this scene will always come to mind. Daniel really was pulling this off while being the loving father he's always been to the kids. Along with learning a few thing about responsibility as well. RIP Robin Williams
I happen to know this song already,Dude Looks like a Lady by Aerosmith a classic by Steven Tyler.

Gosh i totally forgot that happened to me a lot. Thanks for reminding me. Oof.
The purse snatcher's perplexity was hysterical lol
That guy will think twice before trying to mug an old lady again; he might once again bite off more than he could chew. XD
IN that mugging scene, I wonder who that woman was afraid of, Mrs. Doubtfire, or the mugger?
doctorfeelucky Daniel Hillard
Both
Well certainly not the mugger she didn't start taking off until Ms Doubtfire started defending himself/herself lmao
It took him by shock and surprise that mrs doubhtfire fought back.
No idea.😕
"I am not a crook. I am not a crook!"
That HAD to have been improvised! lol.
What😕
@@camcamcarter4741 It's a riff on President Nixon.
Not just that scene, but the whole movie. According to Cris Columbus (the director) there is over 2 million feet of film from all the outtakes they had to do with Robin Williams' improv.
"Broke my bag the bastard..." xD

the whole movie is the best part!
My favorite ! Miss him always ! 😢
When and how did he die😕
Cam Cam Carter August 2014, Depression which led to suicide
RIP Robin Williams, you will always be remembered for great movies like this
I never had a favorite movie of his growing up
Studio: Hey boss, how can we make this scene better?
Boss: *Robin Williams. Broom guitar. Aerosmith*
Studio: ... *GENIUS!*
I do like that we see Daniel learning to be better at homemaking and makes him more responsible. How pretending to be Mrs Doubtfire is one of the worst things he could ever do yet is the best thing that's ever happened to him.
Mrs Doubtfire dancing with the broom and the vacuum brings me so much joy
"I am not a crook!" "Broke my bag, the bastard!" Two of my favorite lines in this movie lol.
God I miss this guy, it's incredible how he effected so many peoples lives.
I bet Sally and Pierce were saddened that Robin died. He's gonna be remembered for all the laughs that he gave us. RIP, Robin.
Everyone was saddened because he was so funny and part of all our lives in someway
His sensitivity was his magic as an actor..
I don't know he could juggle doing comedy and drama
@@manuelorozco7760 so many comedic actors struggle doing dramatic roles because they feel the need to overact.... Robin was a master of both because he kept his dramatic/emotional roles simple and sensitive. RIP ROBIN

That might have been the same for me, as well. I don't really remember. I was 13 back then though, so I'm not even sure I knew what the gesture meant.
Thats Bond who your dealing with.
The first time I saw it was in Mr. Bean. I was probably 7, and in daycare, and started copying him afterwards. When I was told it was bad, I never did it again until around age 22, when I raged at a video game. Although, if I wasn't a RUclipsr, I probably would still have never flipped the bird at this point.
Same here.
Indurok Did someone say Mr. Bean?
I just notice that 2:06, the other woman runs away while Robin is threatening the mugger.
2:02 is the part where she runs away
Well noticed.
Lmao
God bless Robin Williams. We lost a good one, may he forever RIP and be remembered for his overall AMAZINGNESS in all he did ❤❤❤
Sometimes I forget that it's Robin in that suit and not an actual female actor playing Mrs. Doubtfire. He was perfect for this role.

Almost 30 years later and still a classic movie I miss robin Williams so much the world needs him so badly now more than ever he was the best ! My favorite comedian I hope he’s at peace now
You can't miss someone you didn't actually know. Do you even know what it is to lose someone you loved and miss them terribly? Doesn't look like it. Yes, he was great, but one person will not fix or help the world, neither will good acting or comedy. The world needs to defeat dictatorship, promote equality, find cure for illness - not just one person, no matter how great he was.

Robin Williams was an amazing actor to this film. R.I.P Robin Williams
Don't care what anyone says, this will always be one of my favourite childhood movies! The last great "innocent" era in cinema when acting took centre stage instead of relentless shitty superhero tripe year after year after year...
Thank you
@ many people criticize superhero movies for having dull, uninspired plots, often with many holes, and with uninteresting, static characters. Superheros have not "always had shows and movies" either. They've only really taken off since 2005, and reached huge popularity in 2012 or so. Before that, superhero movies were often seen as silly or childish, kind of like how you're being eight now, telling people to shut up because they don't like superhero movies.
@ you could say the same about your reply. If you don't like it then why bother responding to it? People are allowed to say they don't like certain genres. People are allowed to say whether they think a genre is dominating a certain industry.
Entertainment is better than ever. If you are only watching Ms Marvel or whatever then that’s your problem. This year I watched Nope, The Northman, All Quiet on the Western Front, Decision to Leave, Top Gun Maverick, The Menu, Everything Everywhere, Pinocchio, etc.
All absolutely fantastic movies, none of them were super hero movies. And that’s just movies, TV was similarly excellent this year, as were video games. I have no idea what people are talking about when they complain about modern entertainment. Zero people are forcing you to go to superhero movies. Entirely self inflicted ‘problem’
And lastly, Hollywood, like all businesses, has one purpose. To make money, by creating films that are enjoyed by the masses, which superhero movies are. So unless you have the power to abolish capitalism, superhero's aren't going anywhere.
Never fails.. everytime i hear this song i think of this movie 😂😂 Robin Williams was a legend. He will be missed
Originally he was listening to Hendrix hence why he licked the broom like Hendrix kicked the guitar
Air guitaring with the broom was the best thing about this performance.
