Yes. I own 5 Polene bags. I started with the original Un in black, then bought 2 Un minis with gold chains in nude and navy blue( both colors discontinued) . Then got Neuf original in chalk and finally Tonca in Arctic blue. Impeccable quality ! Love them all .
That is why luxury company bought their shares , it’s an admission that Polene is really is a luxury brand. I am glad that bought my bags at their initial prices and at this point not planning to buy more.

We know what is going to happen. Greedy price hike, lower quality and lower innovation. Polene is gone now, buy before it is totally ruined.
That was my first thought too! I have a polene and was thinking of purchasing another, but this kinda makes me rethink that. I don't want to give more $$$ to a greedy man.

I think it is to late...just received tonca last week, and Polène logo crooked badly... nobody yet replied to my email. I think having a crooked logo is unacceptable at this price point.
They acquired polene to captured the lower/middle income market. Since all of lvmh brands are now out of budget for most people and continue to experience sale loss, they needed something to generate sales.
Yes, I think we will see more of this as the more affordable / contemporary market grows and super high end slows down
They have a habit of raising prices to astronomical amounts so I trust them NOT.
I have wanted a Polene bag for a while now. This news makes me feel pretty certain the prices will go up.
High end fashion brands (or huge corporations for consumables in general) have taken notice of smaller and more niche brands that are popular with the masses; this is especially so with the ones that have great quality and affordability. They swoop in and buy or take over these beloved brands and precede to change what makes them special. I know this video is about LVMH in particular. However, I know this phenomenon covers categories where money and greed come into play. If I may write a novel, Steph, I am a black woman and my demographic waited for years and years to find brands that cater to us where hair products and makeup, etc. are concerned. Some of the quality and affordable brands have been taken over and changed to maximize profit and reduce quality. They soon became just like every other over the counter product and stop being what made them special. It’s really sad. I hope Polene doesn’t allow their control to be taken away from them. That would be a real shame.

Polene has already hiked up their prices. This will only get worse and it will no longer be affirdable for the rest of us mortals that dont have millions to invest in luxury handbags

Chinese demand has collapsed and LVMH needs to find growth somewhere. Seems reasonable they would acquire lower cost brands.

I have several Poléne bags. No, I will not buy any further bag from them, just because the reason of having the wolf in the background.
There are many other midrange affordable bags on the market in which I shall invest.
The race for high end designer bags is becoming silly and rather pathetic.

I definitely think I did everything right by buying the regular Cyme last August. I like this design but anyway it was quite spontaneous, as if I did smell that rat. I already own four "Old Celine" bags (2 Belt, Phantom Cabas and Seau Sangle), the YSL Sac de Jour Souple Baby and a wonderful vintage Bottega, so I'm pretty happy with my small selected collection now. This business is getting really crazy and I don't want to be part of it anymore.
I like the Polene bags because they are good quality and don’t have massive labels on them. People who know quality leather will look at the construction from ten paces and say, that is a nice bag. I bought my first Polene 4 years ago and it still looks like new even after me using it on high rotation.
I had heard recently from a you tuber that the quality might have gone down which would be disappointing but maybe with the acquisition the quality can go back up (not that I have noticed a difference).
I don’t mind paying for quality, I do mind paying just for a name.
This LVMH investment group bought Bicester Village a few months ago. How will that work? Great vids always!

I’m old enough to have seen this situation many times. I believe LVMH are feeling threatened by the mid price brands and are out to kill the competition. Just watch the prices dramatically increase, thereby getting rid of Polene’s current customer base. Then they will wait a few years and we will be hearing about how badly they are doing and they will be closed down.
What I want to say is that I spent less than $ 100 from the fake LV I bought from kislux . The quality is very good. I spent four years on the plane, the bus, and anywhere. As a rag. I specially smelled the bag and compared the stitching color. This is the most authentic I have ever seen. To this day, this bag is still very strong. Although it has been abused, the material is still great.

I actually don’t think they will raise prices that much. I think this acquisition is because LMH has painted itself into a corner with the price increases. So instead of decreasing prices at LV and showing that demand is in fact weak, they’re going to buy cheaper brands. They’ve hurt themselves with these increases!

Polene is set to increase their prices once more for some models on 1/6. Demand in replicas will simply increase, and people will buy more of those. The rich also buy replicas, so say what you want. Look at what happened with the “wirkin” selling out and it looks identical to the original Hermes bag too.

The beautiful bag has no lining pockets inside for a $600 bag. I was about to purchase but got discouraged because if that fact.

I thought it was a minority interest? It’s hard to resist to become a multimillionaire by selling their business. LVMH did it to stop that anti luxury bag movement. LVMH can totally destroy Polene. It’s pocket change even if Polene failed miserably.

Of course being merged they eventually will lose their affordability and quality, has happened to all of the other brands they have under their wing. Is just gonna be another one. That’s the way I see it. I do not have one of their bags but I’ve seen how hipped it has become and surely that’s what’s gonna happen. 🤷🏻♀️

Affordable price point equals lower quality materials and less attention to detail. I have never been a fan of Polene. I find their handbags too trendy, which means customers will be encouraged to purchase new bags every season, just like high-end luxury brands. Polene will do whatever favors their financial bottom line. Can't blame them. This is business. But, as I said, I'm no fan of Polene, so none of this makes any difference to me personally.
Now I don't care at all the Poléne bags are very bad finished the the seams are a mess 😅
