As a motorcycle enthusiast I think I'd enjoy it. Hard to relate to how foreign Tim find it being in the open. On a bike there is wind, but you really notice the sense of open space and freedom. I imagine a bit of that comes out in these open top cars. Tim has the wind deflector up, a full face shield and still focused on the wind hitting him. Like a bike, the place to enjoy this thing is a mountain road with great scenery, not a suburb of a big city.
it could never be as good as a Monza. It's not as pretty and it doesnt have a naturally aspirated V12. Still, great video Tim! Loving the coverage of all these cars at The Space.

A lot of effort to be the slowest driver in dubai driving the fastest cars in the world. they're cool cars but watching everyone fly by is almost painful. no offense, i love the videos overall but the driving is hard to watch.

it looks too normal. The Monza has its design rather divergent from the other Ferrari (except the Roma maybe), and it feels like a special car. The Elva looks like a chopped 720s
Just being exposed totally isn't really appealing for a lot i guess. There are also a lot of much cheaper options were you have a "Beach buggy" feeling. If they would have a foldable roof as an option it would be quite helpful
You have to add also that mclaren doesn't have the brand appeal power to sell a lot of different limited production cars and mclaren is making way too much of those

But personally I do like the Elva but for some reason it's just that it still feels like a concept than an actual production car. But that's just my own issue maybe?
Definitely a unique car. I'm sure there is someone out there that it speaks to and it's built for their tastes. I can't say that I think it is worth double a Senna though. Think about it, would you rather have one of these in your garage or two Sennas?

It's a car for those that want that 'open cockpit' racing feeling with the purest view of the road ahead when they get the chance to go out in it. Few other cars offer that experience... ...but I don't think it's for everyone and limits when you can use it... No wonder they are all in Dubai and cut the numbers down LOL

That being said, as someone who used to ride motorbikes, I can see the attraction of driving one on a nice road or track and the sensation of speed with the performance and driving experience of a supercar is appealing. Also makes me think i'll be bit like go-kart racing with a supercar instead of a cage around you...
shouldve been a single piece plastic bubble roof window winshield instead of helmet, and exhuast sounds nothing interesting. alpine a110 with same bubble roof wouldve been far better, its not like this is a proper time attack car liek radical R sr10 or ariel atom 4s. alpine with nissan e power was planned long ago but no update they may even end elpine production. gordon murray t43 and toyota 1 liter midengine planned more recently, still on track.
its trash but the exhuast concept of having some of it pointed upward and another set of pipes downward for more base heavy and high pitch combo was great concept. wonder if they can redirect sound so u can hear torque vectoring, where some correlation with steering would happen. taking away saftey as a engineering priority allowed for lot of novelty, but they stuck to lame formula

A few weeks ago at a motor show in Western Australia i saw a lineup of a McLaren Elva, McLaren Senna, Ford GT, and a Ferrari s590 Stradale!😀 Edit: You could see the carbon fibre on the body, there was no paint! the seats where a really nice purple colour.
its cool that McLaren used the orange n also the Elva chassis name. the orange not sure by design or happenstance. a nice touch(for me)wud have been the M8B somewhere on the Elva. M8B being the 1969 McLaren Can am that won every race of the Can am season n obviously won the drivers n constructors championships.
DDE's Lamborghini Huracan Aperta looks more well done and exclusive than this. It looks like a poorly chopped 720s, while the Monza has a unique design, a modern take on old Ferrari models and was one of the first "super Ferrari" with their new design language

In my opinion, it's quirky for the sake of being quirky, and about as usable as a semi-tumescent male reproductive organ on one's elbow.
