There is Tilopa-Naropa cave near to Pashupatinath temple ( it lies within the heritage)of Kathmandu, Nepal where both of them are said to have practiced tantras. There are statues of them as well.
Tilopa and Naropa never went to Nepal as they were from Lakhisarai District in Bihar in India. Tilopa and Naropa arent symbolic story. Its Lakhisarai district of Bihars history. I do research on Buddhism in Bihar and UP. I have found Naropa and Tilopa's homes. Please view my video 'Tilopa & Naropa full video for his holiness the Dalai Lama'. The video shows all the ancient spots ancient Tibetans wrote about within a 20 km radius. They are Jagora, Tilopas home, Jumbo, Naropas home, Piri mispronounced as Phullhari. Piri means hardhip and is where Tilopa gave twelve hardships to Naropa. Behind Piri on a hill is Naropas temple. Six Km to the east is Dharara mispronounced as Dharima where Dharima lived. In Dharara is Ura Bagicha meaning to fly. That is where Tilopa and Dharima flew. Because he flew Tilopa is prayed to by locals as Varun (wind) Baba, and Dharima as Vansatto Mai (the friend of Varun), and Naropa is Abhaykirti Baba and also Barabar (equalizing) Baba as he equalized with every task Tilopa gave him. Further on is Marpa Khurd in the name of the ancient Tibetan translator Marpa. The video has bad music because I was learning to make videos so please ignore that. Other than that watch what I say and the visuals of the places. Another video to watch is 'Niguma, lady of illusion.' I hope you will appreciate my work. For Naropas home watch, 'Naropas village'. Everything is in detail according to ancient Tibetan texts

I do research in Buddhism in Bihar. Atisa hailed from Kajra. Tilopa hailed from Kajra which was mispronounced by Tibetans as Jagora. And Chakthani was mispronounced as Chativavo. Near Kajra is a village called Narittimpur which Tibetans have again misprounced as Narotapa.
Tilopa teaches naropa to where which place??I m doubt some said east near the ganges river cave of Bangladesh..some said west in Ladakh India.some said in nepal pashupati temple near bagmati river.
Near pashupati temple.... As we know Kathmandu is the Chakrasamvara Mandala....

The images are very nice but your spelling is a bit off.
sounds more like hinduism
Naropa is an example of somebody who awakes the real understanding within oneself through the power of one's devotion and the Guru's blessings. It rarely happens, but it happens. Padmasambhava also promoted this style of Guruyoga practice among his students,
it's all the same ☺️
@Max Nüstermann No, it isn't. The first and biggest difference between Hinduism and Buddhism is that Hinduism believes in creator where else Buddhism doesn't.
So called Hinduism, as religion doesn't exist anywhere in Indian history, probably seems, came to use after 16 or 17 th century. It is Farsi word.
The so called today Hinduism is actually a bramin belief system created and spread by Bramins after 15th century.
Today, if you dig anywhere from Pakistan to Bangladesh, what you get is all Bhuddhist archeological evidences. Bhuddhism decline in India around little before 12 century, after the destruction of Nalanda University. Thereafter, they occupied all the Bhuddhist temples, and own many Bhuddhist practice like wearing orange robes.
That's why, it sounds more like Hinduism to you....🤠
Budhas gurus were all Hindus. He was himself a hindu prince. Buddhism just emphasizes certain aspects of Hinduism. Hinduism says you can reach God through bhakthi ( devotion) , karma ( doing your duty with detachment to the fruits of your action) and gyana ( knowledge of ones true self through meditation etc). Buddhism focuses on the last.
Pretty messed up abusive relationship: bring on the gurus who evoke enlightenment with love. Reality is harsh enough. Pax et lux to all.🕉️💫🙏📿
Don't look through your culture in a modern world. Those were different times and different traditions and also different religion. Teacher in our society has high regards but it doesn't hold the same regard in the west where they can't even scold the students.
Those were highly compassionate acts for removing blocks ..he went on to attain enlightenment. Please for your own benefit cultivate faith rather than intellect if you want spiritual growth. This is a mystical path far greater than our mental understanding. Can a plant prune its own weeds? That's why one needs a guru. God bless
you misunderstood, if you thought it was an abusive relationship.
it is an act of great compassion, to help a student to awaken.
depending on the karma and mental conditioning of the student, a guru's actions that are required to awaken, may appear harsh or cruel to someone that doesn't fully understand the situation, or the reasons for performing such actions.
but appearances don't matter, at all.
