I really wish the thumbnail for the video was a picture of the finished item you are making so that I would go back and easily find it to make. The things you make are so good and your technique and skill level high you would be my go to crafter to use up my scraps if I could find the video easily to make the item I want when I have time.

That would be a way to close a seam on the inside where it would not be seen but where it is on the top of the basket hand stitching makes an invisible closure.
I made a watermelon 🍉 bag very similar to this about 30 years ago...the outside was green skin and the inside was red with black seeds...I used that thing forever...probably in a thrift shop somewhere...so sad

To close the opening...I would press the edge flat and top stitch 1/8" from edge... eliminate the had sewing
