Hey exbvick, Don't let the trolls get you down. I understand what you were wanting to do.By the way it sounds very good and you can probably take a ride without getting a $125.00 ticket.
You are going to need a hook for the end of the slide hammer. Insert it into the exhaust just over the lip of the first restriction and hammer away. Be careful to not mash the flange on the inside.
Love the sound with the quiet baffles, but hate the look. It looks like someone plugged the exhaust (which basically is what you did, but still). Would have preferred if the closed end was towards the engine so it wouldn't be so visible. According to V&H, the baffles reduce the sound volume (2-3dB), create a lower sound signature (more bassy), slightly increase torque at the low end, and slightly reduce HP at the high end.
Found a trick in my toolbox take a muffler flange expander put it in baffle until nice and snug and start yanking mine had halfway burnout fiberglass came out.
I actually welded a piece of 1/4" rod on the end of a piece of re-bar. Then bent a hook in the end of the 1/4 rod. Slid a pice of tubing over the re-bar and welded a scrap of 1/4 plate I had sitting around to theft her end of the re-bar and started banging away at it.
High outputs absolutely killed my low-end torque because of the lack of back pressure. After installing these, did you feel like you got any low-end back?
I bought the bike with them installed. I did not notice a difference after I installed the baffles. I have heard that the folk that upgraded their exhaust had success with tuners.
+exbvick A tuner helped me some, the stock baffles are just really open. I would love to find a way to keep these exhaust and get some of the back pressure to return. These aren't real expensive so I may take the chance. Thanks for the reply!

That harley is to loud said no one ever
Thank you. Still loud. 2-3 db difference is not a major difference
Just picked up a set of these for my 14 Limited on Amazon. Can you please explain exactly how you used the slide hammer to remove the end caps?

Part number on the baffle you installed?
Vance & Hines Quiet Baffle 21905
You are going to need to read the descriptions carefully to get the right ones.
why didn't you show the slid hammer? you wasted time
Why not leave it stock ?
The Kevin Denton roadshow live ! It had the stage one kit on it when I bought it.
Cool !! I see now .. nice bike ‘n
Thanks for posting the video, what type of slide hammer did you use?

Why would you want it quieter
@@odoyle_rulez my ears were ringing after riding while using earplugs.

Why
Nice video for showing that Quet Baffles even exist. Not nice video for avoiding showing the actual install.
Now it sounds like a Honda
Nope still can't hear a Honda running next to this.
Your right that would be a compliment, Honda’s have come a long way and you see a lot of Valkyries with 300 K miles still going
"too loud"........? GTF out of here
I agree with you
My first bike was 92db, it was disorienting, i could ride better with ear plugs
Some people ride distances, urban posers wouldn't understand.
to loud ......haha dont by a harley then buddy ffs lol
yugiboi 33 truth !!
