You're both idiots. It seems like he's pressing in more because it starts digging into the aluminum, giving the illusion that it's the case. Also, looks at the random bolts & nuts test, that further solidifies the fact that the 8 IS more scratch resistant.

The sapphire glass is a combo sapphire coat+glass for increased scratch resistance with minimal price increase while sapphire crystal will like up to the level 8-9. It is stated on the Apple Website in "Tech Specs" and there are RUclips videos confirming Apple's claims using a Mohs kit and a diamond tester
