But, production shifted studios after Disney bought out DiC, in 1999. At one point, Peter and Bobby Farrelly were considered to write and direct. Martin Scorsese was also considered to direct.

Inspector gadgets cartoon released in 1982 and Robocop was 1987. Inspector gadget was always a cyborg cop/detective.
