You missed quite a bit, buddy. After his album "Smile" in 2005 and Ishq Ho Gaya (2006), Diljit gained significant popularity in Punjab, and his album "Chocolate" in 2008 was a massive hit. Following this success, he teamed up with Honey Singh and released the album "Next Level" in 2009. Contrary to what you mentioned, "Lakk 28" was the song featured in Diljit's debut movie "Lion of Punjab," which premiered in 2011.
Diljit's career hasn't been without its controversies. Don't know Bhai if you follow punjabi movies yourself, but you are spot on with his first movie and the performance he gave in 1984. He nailed the character in that movie. Not a fan of Kirron kher, but in that movie she is irreplaceable. That one can make you cry again n again.
He also gave hits in his Jatt and Juliet series. However, there are much better comedy movies in Punjabi cinema than those. But Diljit has the capability to carry a movie on his own and don't rely too much on multi star comedy cast. He is fab to say the least. And yes, Panga was a sensation in my graduation days, I still listen to that one 😅
