- Cuban Salsa for Beginnners Master the Basics Discover the fun and exhilarating world of the Cuban Salsa, with detailed instruction and easy-to-follow demonstrations helping you master the basics. In a series of simple lessons you will learn the eight basic steps and the 27 essential figures you need. We start by exploring the basic principles of Cuban Salsa, helping you to establish your technique. Then we look in detail at the steps of the male and female partner, showing what the couple have to do for each figure, while underlining the most important aspects. As your beginner s introduction to Cuban Salsa continues, each lesson conveys a sequence, which becomes longer and longer, and increasingly difficulty. At the end of every lesson there is music to help you put the theory into practice and master the basics of Cuban Salsa. This guy in White looks like he will start with some Kung Fu moves =)
Gay kung fu panda.
this is an excellent breakdown of the basic elements and figures...several of the names used are different to the more commonly used names, e.g. no is guapea, cumbia usually called abierto...but a great technical breakdown...
This was an excellent tutorial, it was well structured and just what i needed, thank you
Tnx, it was really helpful ✌️👌✌️
Excellent instruction does anyone know the name of the music and artist that is played on this video?
David Roberts the artist is Luisito Carrion
Very nicely explained and structured tutorial, great starting point, thank you.
just 2 criticisms
1 - what is this guy doing with his right hand when it's free - the Cubans definitely don't do that, they call it maricon
2 - when the complete sequence is danced to the music it doesn't fit - and it's because it is the music that dictates the moves, not the other way around
for practicing it's better to dance just to the beat - when the music starts you have to listen and improvise a little
and finally - some of figure names are "wrong" like cumbia is a different dance, in Cuba they call it abierto
But, overall, your teaching system is excellent, thank you again!
Excellent video. Does anyone know what the name of the music track is that they dance to?
Nadie como tu / Louisito Carrion

Saludos ¿Por qué dices que son estafadores?
Sorry - there are many basic issues in this vid. Just to take 2 of them - the demonstrations frequently DON'T show a weight change on 3 or 7. The changes shown here occurs on the 5 & 8. This is problematic as it means steps 3&7 haven't actually been taken till much later - like 2 beats later than they should. Secondly, and this is surprising for an instructional vid - the demonstration couples keep drifting across the music. Are they dancing on "1" or "2"? At one point they were dancing on "5"! Then back to "2" then "1" again. Whilst it's better technique to dance on "1" or "2", and on a social floor no-one really cares if you're dancing on, say "6". But you should STAY on that beat. For a couple in a demonstration video to drift across the music is very poor practice.
