But the UN has gone badly wrong in development, and Asian development followed the Japan model focused on new systems not the singularly stupid IMF/World Bank model based on equilibriums and incentives as if they really matter. The more BRICS focuses on forever enhancing managerial and technical systems the more they will grow value. The UN has not helped at all deal with the root causes of the current genocide being perpetrated by Israel against the Palestian people, on the contrary, the diplomatic ways of dragging their feet for decades that they have made the norm is to a great extent what now renders it useless in the face of genocide and even the attack on their own institutions (with bombs not merely words), plus most countries being stuck in inaction with it. Should we talk about the unilateral but world wide act of bullying sanctions of the US against Cuba that, no matter how many damn times a crushing majority votes against, the US blocks with it's veto. The US should NOT be able to vote on this as it is the direct party causing it, or at least, it's vote should NOT hold veto power. Israel is invading Lebanon and Syria as we watch this video (as it continues to genocide Palestinians) and has been doing so and... where are the blue helmets? Where are the world sanctions? Nada. The US is threatening Mexico of invasion... crickets. The UN, in the case of the invasion of Ukraine, has not brought about any peace negotiation table... it just sits on its chair stuck by veto powers. What did the UN get to do to the US and UK when they illegally invaded Irak? Nothing. What impact has the UN had at least thought it's IPPC reports and meetings? Unfortunately, it has become a block more than anything.

re: "bias in treatment of muslim and North African refugees compared to Ukrainians." A bias (préjugé) is based on erroneous pré-judment and the word is often abused to discredit judgments which are based on empirical realities. Statistics of often very serious criminal acts committed by refugees in the EU prove beyond any shimmer of doubt that Ukrainian refugees are mostly law abiding and grateful visitors while Arab refugees show an amazing percentage of excess criminal behavior compared to the local population even though the justice systems and the press do their very best to excuse and to hide those crimes by giving out many passports in order to push many cases into the category of "local crime" . Another step on the way to World Government? The idea of the BRICS was formulated by Chief Economist at Goldman Sachs, Jim O'Neill, in a 2001 study entitled "Building Better Global Economic BRICs". It became an analytical category in economic, financial, business, academic and media circles. In 2006, the concept, itself, gave rise to the grouping, incorporated into Brazil, Russia, India and China’s foreign policy. In 2011, on the occasion of the Third Summit, South Africa became part of the group, who adopted the acronym BRICS. Catherine Austin Fitts added that the Bank for International Settlements BIS, which is described as the central bank of central banks, is running the global process on getting all 114 of its member countries on a Central Bank Digital Currency CBDC. But she warned that the moment the CBDC ultimately centralizes, the BIS member countries will be forced to give control to Switzerland. This would lead to the end of both individual and national sovereignty, she added. Bank for International Settlements head Agustin Carstens about CBDC and control ruclips.net/video/rpNnTuK5JJU/видео.html "What we are talking about is a control system that is going to be implemented in a global coup d’état, and we are in the middle of a global coup d’état. Essentially, if you look at the central bankers, the BIS (Bank of International Settlements) and all the central bankers are trying to create a system where they are completely free of the laws of nation states and governments." Catherine Austin Fitts The whole international banking system both east and west are apparently under the BIS or Bank for International Settlements in Switzerland called the Bank of Banks. At a time when over 80 percent of apex banks across the world are engaging in one form of digital currency development or another, the central bank of central banks, the Bank of International Settlements (BIS) has hinted that it’s now working on a proof of concept for its own central bank digital currency (CBDC). crypto.news/bank-international-settlement-trial-cbdc/ In other words, they are inserting sovereign immunity from all laws and literally trying to create a civilization under the law where they are free to do whatever they want, including, as we know-genocide. My career was UN development. Interesting argument but in reality breakup aint going to happen (though I quite favor BRICS). Why? It's VITAL to understand that the entire UN is in several parts with no governing body over the whole. Any nation can be a member of some and not others: (1) Political: UNGA and UNSC here in NYC, mostly talked about in the video; BRICS nations unlikely to leave as eg two have a UNSC veto; an immense amount of internal BRICS chat happens among their UN missions here; (2) IMF and World Bank - the Bank has huge and very damaging mission creep and many SHOULD leave that; (3) over 30 development agencies, they concentrate on systems change (maritime, cellphones, health, aviation, weather, environment) and eg peacekeeping. All do fine work within budget limits and no BRICS nation will ever want to leave any of them.
BTW one reason I do favor BRICS pressure? The US makes a huge profit out of the UN. Some billions a year is spent by UN Missions in NYC and Washington DC. Some billions is spent by the IMF and World Bank on money management in the US. Some billions is spent by the UN on the many, many American staff, plus on American project equipment and on fellowships at American universities.

The BRICS countries need to form their own Security Council. Russia and China still have veto power in the UN Security Council. That is too powerful a position to walk away from. As the economic power of the European countries decline, BRICS needs to take up the slack. Africa is 150 years behine the US in rail construction. How did that happen?
The UN’s mandate is not only to prevent/resolve conflicts around the world. The work carried out by many UN agencies are vital humanitarian services. The value of those services will be realized only when the UN shuts down. Some wealthy countries are making large contributions to the organization in return for clout and power in decision making. The five permanent members who have the power to veto resolutions, make deals amongst themselves to manipulate the decisions of the SC. Reform to make the UN meaningful and transparent is necessary.
Without the UN, would the World be worse off? Or does it need to be restructured to embrace the Southern Hemisphere and countries south of the 20th Parallel North? Dismantle the Security Council and reform it with different nations? Should

I have quated Russia as an example. The BRICS member countries suffer on account of highly overvalued western fiat currencies.
Market forces are being controlled in the name of free market by the west which keeps appreciating your fiat currency value.
What would happen to the west and their currencies if BRICS member countries undertake their international trades bypassing their currencies and by some sort of barter like exchange ?
The BRICS countries amongst themselves are more self reliant than the combined west.
What would happen to the western economies if gold standard is reintroduced as in the pre 1971s ?
West controls the so called free market and hence your statement that the west puts in more than the south gets is wrong.
Not only the usa other western nations stand to benefit at the expense of south in the present world order.
@@AlfredAlfred-kb9cw Hi Alfred, sorry I was unclear, I was talking ONLY about contributions to all the UN bodies where US and Europe and Japan provide the majority of funding. Read Christensen The Innovator's Dilemma, it explains how China etc can keep growth going fast.
@peterquennellnyc
Can you please clarify me on the following points.
1. Usa has a national debt of more than 7 trillion beyond it's national gdp
2. Japan has a national debt which is 2.5 times it's national gdp
3. Most of European countries excluding Russia and Germany have
National debts beyond their national gdps.
Debt is something which is not yours /their's and needs to be repaid from out of your/ their income or revenue.
When your / their income or revenue is less than your debt how you are going to repay it ?
My question is how countries mentioned by you are contributing to UN more than the south with money which is not their's and which can never be repaid by them ?
@@AlfredAlfred-kb9cw You lost me. What's the problem here? All countries use debt. I am merely describing HARD FACTS based on UN accounting (my career was UN). The G7 etc money does go to the UN. BRICS is not duplicating the UN, it is not in competition. Those nations use the UN a lot, they simply do not contribute very much. (USA actually makes a profit by the way.)

Political, Cultural, and Spiritual conditions are main hurdles for a more equitable distribution of power and progress..
For those interested in what's indicated in the title, watch from 9:40.
You didn't mention that the Soviet Union boycotted the UN in the 1950s.
Why did Soviet Union boycotted the UN in 1950's?
They didnt they did boycott the IMF though.
@ Yes, they did boycott the UN including the Security Council. Check Wikipedia if you don't believe me. How do you think the U.S. could get a UN mandate for an invasion of the Korean peninsula if a Soviet veto could have stopped it?

The us should leave too
If the US leaves then others may not need to. The US is the problem. It is the country that constantly uses its veto power to stop the UN from acting especially against Israel. The IS feels it is above the law. Although, you can trust the US to try to direct how the UN works even after it leaves just as it is doing with the ICC of which it is not a member.
I think the war in the ME, has highlighted the deeper global issues we have been having and the level of impunity and unfairness and the discrimination by so called the leading countries

re: "bias in treatment of muslim and North African refugees compared to Ukrainians."
A bias (préjugé) is based on erroneous pré-judment and the word is often abused to discredit judgments which are based on empirical realities.
(not only group rapes but also extremes like bystanders being pushed in front of an incoming subway locomotive.)
This would lead to the end of both individual and national sovereignty, she added.

ruclips.net/video/rpNnTuK5JJU/видео.html
"What we are talking about is a control system that is going to be implemented in a global coup d’état, and we are in the middle of a global coup d’état. That’s what is happening right now. Essentially, if you look at the central bankers, the BIS (Bank of International Settlements) and all the central bankers are trying to create a system where they are completely free of the laws of nation states and governments." Catherine Austin Fitts
The whole international banking system both east and west are apparently under the BIS or Bank for International Settlements in Switzerland called the Bank of Banks. At a time when over 80 percent of apex banks across the world are engaging in one form of digital currency development or another, the central bank of central banks, the Bank of International Settlements (BIS) has hinted that it’s now working on a proof of concept for its own central bank digital currency (CBDC). crypto.news/bank-international-settlement-trial-cbdc/
In other words, they are inserting sovereign immunity from all laws and literally trying to create a civilization under the law where they are free to do whatever they want, including, as we know-genocide. CAF says to fight back against CBDC is to use cash. Fitts says, “If you go to Solari.com, you will see something that says, “Cash Every Day.” ” Catherine Austin Fitts

Do not leave. Bring the change. Add India, Brazil, Germany, and the African Union to the Security Council.
Good idea.

The governing body is the US veto power. The time of the UN and the US are finished because the world sees the pretend BS of the bully
