I’m a Amouage fan, and owns some scents from the Opus collection, but not X. So interesting to hear your impressions from it.
And like as for you, it was by that house I started my really big interest in niche fragrances. 🤩
As you told in video it’s a fascinating story behind the scent, I’ve picked up below text from a comment in Fragrantica:
The story behind the Opus 10 perfume is actually taken from the movie named "Red Violin". The story is about a person making a violin for his unborn child to give him as a gift; But during the birth of his child; His wife dies and this shock to the man causes him to stain the violin with blood and actually polish that violin with his wife's blood, and then the story of the violin passing from hand to hand happens over decades.
As you know, there is a substance called hemoglobin in the blood, and one of its factors is the Iron molecule. In fact, the color of the glass of this perfume is red because of the reason mentioned above, and the metallic polishing note used in this perfume in large quantities; In fact, it represents the same violin soaked in blood, which contains hemoglobin (which is actually the metal element of blood).
And in fact, you can easily understand the violence and anger of that man because his wife was killed. It means a perfume that has no rounded corners and is completely sharp and harsh and winning.

I'm early to the party 💪. The only frag from the opus collection I've tried was King Blue and it smelled like Injera to me haha

You couldn't be more accurate with your thoughts on older fragrances having distinct personalities. Floris Elite is the groom sweeping his wife off her feet and carrying her over the threshold. Polo Green is the dapper gentleman lounging in the bar of the country club. Joop Homme is the playboy falling through his glass coffee table absolutely geeked on blow while "Obsession" by Animotion booms from the speakers of the penthouse. Yea, they just don't make 'em like that anymore.

A decaying rose , with animalics and varnish over top. How could anyone not like this ?? Lol 😝. Great review and I most probably would really like is as soon as the Rose starts to wither and dry , The decay of the angels kinda thing . Great stuff Rams 🙏✌️👍💪
