Islam impeccable skills are complemented by his laid back demeanor and humility. I can’t wait to see him and Do Bronx test their skills against each other. I would like to see Islam continue the legacy. Good luck brother Islam.
He faked that he was going for a single leg, so the opponent quickly shifted his leg back. Whilst he balance was momentarily only on 1 leg, he pulls the opponents right arm downwards. Well that's how it is on plain sight, but god knows what else. Probably the first thing is to set the opponent up by constantly going for a single leg. Maybe that Tap on the neck was a subconscious setup?? Either way russian's wrestling is elite!! Love to see him vs Kevin!
Islam already had firm head control before the sequence began. I said it earlier that I think it was the first part of the setup. Tease head snap, tease single, then ownage.
It looks like when he went for the right leg, the dude lift his leg off the ground and back to sprawl but Islam switched and arm dragged from wrist control to his left and slightly behind him to pull his opponent forward who had no leg to post with. That must be so rare to pull off man the timing you have to have.
Look at Islams hands and how he focuses on his center of gravity. This is a lifetime of experience on display. This is why they are not scared to tell people their game plan, because a couple months of training is not enough compared to a life time of training. That's unheard of. Respect to Dana and UFC for making these great fights consistently. I'm ALWAYS looking forward to a Islam fight, not so much a Charles fight to be honest. I like to see dominance and Islam provides this.
If use leg, its called ankle pick.. And he did it with Dustin that lead to submission? He know Dustin don't expect it! Dustin must be just expecting normal shoot the single or double leg.. . @@SV-bo8yn that’s what’s so great about martial arts specifically wrestling everyone has their own style and little things they excel at. I miss the days when I did wrestling practices sucked but it was an amazing experience
Love the way Islam tucks his elbows to not attend Suplex City, Great Defense. 3:54
Bigg Ant Gaming that’s how he keep his opponents from locking his arms around his waist
Man, even if he didn't
His opponent can't even supplex him even if he didn't tuck his elbow in
Bigg Ant Gaming goddamn, that’s some good education
Faked a single, made the guy sprawl and turned him over while his feet were practically in the air. Exquisite timing and execution.
Man, that Islam guy is sick. That other kid is pretty damn good too, but looks to be giving up a decent amount of weight.
Keep up the good work! :)
Chase Saldate lol
Well hello Ms. Makhachev, how you doing?
Chase Saldate tell DC I said he that nigga
Pretty much every dude with a neck beard and a 15 syllable last name is bad ass
The elegance and speed of the complex setups and execution is ... crazy impressive. Big respect to these guys, and the entire Khabib crew who don't get the respect they deserve for their skills

The best combination if you ask me.

Anyone who got back to this video because Makhachev just did the same move on porier but on his leg? I wonder if its called the same.
He did an ankle pick then golf swung for the leg sweep
Bro they are completely different techniques
"Islam gave u some space".
- Khabib to this kid.
What a lovely person Islam is. Helping the kid to learn showing him different tricks 💪🏻
1. I thought that dude was Khabib at first 2. Holy shit I had to rewatch that like 4 times at .25 speed to even understand what happened
i did the same shit haha

2:21 Islam flexing that chin while casually doing a toe rise...like the TOTAL BADASS that he is. #islamtime #champ

I could watch this all day. It's like watching a Lion teaching a cub. The kid is good and will be a beast. It's just the way the man flowed and made the kid work without going 100% back at him.
kid’s gonna feel better about sparring with the lightweight champion of the world now
Islam just became champion :)). What an inspiration . Good example MashAllah
Future champ Islam 👑🦅
He just did this to Dustin Poirier during the finishing sequence.
This kid was one of the best high school wrestlers in the country at this point and Islam is just fucking around. Nobody understands that’s there’s levels to stuff. This isn’t about whose stronger it’s about leverage and understanding weight distribution. It’s about technique and these daegastani guys are incredible.
Definitely brother.
Russia been understanding weight distribution, distance control and attacking at various entry points and exit points since the beginning of Dawn.
Artem Levin. A perfect example of this statement in the boxing and kickboxing realms
And Jordan Burroughs would double leg islam to death. Talking about levels
@@joeledwards4509 yeah in a wrestling match Burroughs would win. He’s arguably the greatest wrestler to have ever lived. Combat grappling though Islam beats the fuck outta Burroughs.
@@tylerjacobson8012 well yea, he would kill Jordan , but Jordan will kill him just as badly on the mat.
WHOS HERE AFTER ISLAM JUST DID THIS TO DUSTIN
He did ir already
Send me the one against DP PLZ!!! It was a sick ankle pick!
it's like he has an answer for every move of chase... truly masterful.
Dat kid is goin' to be one badass wrestlers with these mentors.
There is wrestling and then there is Wrestling!!!
Aaaand then there’s wwe wrestling! Get on that level noobs 😏
Highking Stoner and then there’s mma
I don't care if he's the champ now. This is still the most legendary thing he did caught on tape.
And now he is UFC LW CHAMPION
You can see Islam is letting chase grab his legs from time to time to give him a chance to learn. While khabib takes a different approach when teaching where he gives no chance and chase needs to earn what he wants to do
W Baldwin nah I mean he didn’t defend as hard as he could
W Baldwin you clearly never done wrestling otherwise you’d know what I’m talking about
@W Baldwin if you think Islam was outwrestled, you don't understand anything about fighting, as the other guy said. He was toying with the kid while going at 20% because he wanted to take it easy on a kid.
Still embarrassed these young American wrestling prospects.
@W Baldwin you are out of your mind
islam futur lightweight champ no doubt
@Come to success I read Baldwin's comments and now I feel bad that there could be someone that arrogant yet stupid.
Not even sure what I saw but it looked really awesome.
CryptoJitsu....That was an Aikido technique....and everyone says Aikido is fake...But there it was...right before your eyes
He took his hand while he tought he s gonna attack his legs thats why he sprawl
Put play back on .25 and then watch 2:18 - 2:20 it's where he used his moment of thinking he was gonna go down and basically just pulled him down instesd
@PrisonCipher
Gracie lmao, they are overrated and wrestlers like Sakuraba exposed them.
@PrisonCipher
And he's playing with him, don't even go 100%, he let him use stuff; Russias are known for that, they use low-energy and are generally hard to TD, that's why they are the best wrestlers
This guy wrestled the future Lightweight Champion at the time.
Islam impeccable skills are complemented by his laid back demeanor and humility. I can’t wait to see him and Do Bronx test their skills against each other. I would like to see Islam continue the legacy. Good luck brother Islam.

It’s khabib best friend Islam Makhachev. He’s in the ufc also he fought last month
Michael M I'm pretty sure Islam is Khabib's cousin.
98%
I could see him beating Kevin Lee. Their styles are simillar, both have elite wrestling and good striking.
Is there a video where u can learn this technique
Gaffar Okkan this is similar ruclips.net/video/dFEED4JjcBk/видео.html
Islam looks really comfortable and calm
He is also ten times the wrestler of his opponent, so it makes sense.
I like to see dominance and Islam provides this.

.
In his fight with Charles Olivera, he don't get the take down from shoot single or double leg, but he get take down from some judo throw from cline.
Islam is completely different level . it is a wonderful thing to have him there train the new generation.
