@@StoriesAroundUs it has. I am not doing what Lieschen's father does, so we tend to get together and find a sustainable solution after both of us have calmed down. 😉 But it is always good to be reminded that finding different ways from your parents is normal.

Hahaha! I thought I was obsessed with coffee since I drink three cups every day….no, I am not by comparison!

    A really delicious aria.
    Heute noch,
    Lieber Vater, tut es doch!
    Ach, ein Mann!
    Wahrlich, dieser steht mir an!
Wenn es sich doch balde fügte,
    Dass ich endlich vor Coffee,
Eh ich noch zu Bette geh,
    Einen wackern Liebsten kriegte!

The trouble with even this performance is that people take it all too seriously. It is a song about the dangers of coffee, after all. Imagine if it were sung in a coffee house and the Lischen was sung by a young male student in descant. It would be not only musical but funny. That's the reason the intro is telling the guests to sit down and listen instead of scratching their chairs and talking. .

Naaa, this is not about the dangers of coffee! This is about teenagers and their parents 😁. That's why I love to listen to this Kantate in particular on days when my children are driving me crazy. Bach has hardly composed anything non-religious. But having 20 children he must have known and seen a lot with regard to teenage boy and girls and their parents - and found it intriguing enough to compose the music for this. It is absolutely hilarious. Sometimes we will even sing in different roles in our house. 🤣

And what about its companion, the Covfefe Cantata?

Thank God that Bach did not write his titles on a smartphone - so we don't get twitter-shit ... …-)
