So what was the mod you did to the R-4C audio?I cannot find the video showing what you did. I agree with the other guy that I couldn't tell much difference. I do run a stock C-Line and my R-4C sounds like your mod. It might have been your microphone. My computer's audio is run through a stereo amp into 9" speakers. Also Rob Sherwood's mods were more for using the receiver on CW. 73 de Jim, WA8SDF
Hi Terry, Do you happen to have a web site where a person could find the information on the Drake mod you did to your R4C? I would very much like to do the same thing to mine. Kevin - KG0MN
Hi Terry, Really enjoy your videos have watched for years. I recently got a TR4 and have done a few repairs. My question is HOW to Cure the IP meter from bouncing? When I put the rig in tune that IP meter bounces so much I can't tune it SAFELY or for fear of causing damages to the rig. I doubt anyone could safely tune it. Also would like to know a replacement for the RX TX fuse? It's a #12 bulb but I can not find any source for a #12 6 volt bulb fuse. If you see this could you let me know?
Sorry, but not sure that I can tell any difference worth mentioning. Also, the AM signal you were listening to was not the best choice. Audio always sounds less loud on AM... A good strong SSB signal may have been a better tell all, IMHO.
