He is dropping pearls encased within layers of silver, gold, and platinum. I can't articulate just how valuable what he is saying actually is. His speech is so refined that everything he is saying is archetypically beyond wise. The wisest words often appear to be the simplest and most fundamental. That is because in order to dive deep one must first take care to navigate the shallow waters.

@dandagod official I wouldn't assume that I am conservative. I have not identified myself as such. We need to stop this dualistic war. Most folks who identify with either political party need to take a step back and ask themselves whether or not they are simply trying to be on a "winning" team. Just like JP said; the desire to win is NOT the right approach. That is why I typically don't post comments on the internet; I don't want to compete with some stranger in an argument, and that seems to be where these conversations inevitably lead.
It is not always easy to circumscribe the right things to do. You have to start somewhere. Parents give general restraints to their kids but a good parent also allows their child a certain level of freedom so as to learn on their own. Freedom is important. I do not want to tell you or anyone what to do or say. All I can do is speak for myself. This group identity stuff is a big part of the problem. It all inevitably leads back to Tribalism.

You see, conservatives always lose because everyone but a conservatives can see the hypocriticy of the modern neo- conservative. They wish to live in the modern world of 40- hour work weeks, electricity, computers, cell phones, television, middle class wages, and medical cures - all progressive developments, as in 'progress' - but then also tell everyone out of the other side of their mouths that they must live according to an old set of "traditions" that conservatives believe they get to call out.

@dandagod official That's a very easy question to answer. Conservatives want women to function as a brood mare for the state, gays to be executed, and everyone to be either a Christian or a second class citizen as they force a theocracy on the government.

It's a nice proposition, but without winning, you have no means to make things better. We've seen what kind of crimes the Federal Government will commit when it's filled with people who don't wish to "make things better". Regardless of what they say or how they act.

The problem with todays society is that shown responsibility is not rewarded accordingly with appropriate amounts of authority, especially for those who don’t have much to their name in the first place. No one likes doing their best for basically nothing except for “respect” of people you might not even want it from, you’ll be taken advantage of and the motivation to be good and responsible fades as you become jaded and cynical about what actually advances you in life just by seeing what advances others in life (which commonly aren’t good traits like selfishness, ruthlessness, impulsive lying, etc)
It’s a good thing to be a stoic, but in reality not everyone is cut out to be and live out a stoic life, and that’s just the truth of it. You have to allow avenues or incentives for those who aren’t willing to sacrifice their time for well wishes.

Hmmm I don't necessarily agree because that can be turned around if you look at it from a different perspective as well as being aware of your desires which can lead to self-improvement which is also part of personal responsibility which is what JP emphasizes a lot of in his speeches and videos. It's not that people aren't cut out to be stoic, it's also the fact that they just can't be bothered. The woke has definitely shown this through their unwarranted emotional detests. And besides who cares if not everyone is stoic, they shouldn't concern you and your stoicism. I'd say just put your head down and carry on what you're doing. And secondly, I would also say be selective in who you want to be responsible too...because you can't always please everyone. And if you're attracting the right type of crowd then most likely you will definitely be rewarded (in whatever way).

Too many people have access to stuff that gratifies their ‘I want…’ impulses (which seems to have morphed nowadays into ‘I need…’) without the necessary emotional growth to get these things responsibly. For example, a woman of 60 who wants a child because she can now have one…without thinking about how this could impact on her child. 2. Little regard for the importance and power of the arts, stories, language, and culture
    2. Focusing on federal level politics at the expense of the local, thinking federal level politics or focusing on politics exclusively and in general is the only solution worth pursuing
    3. Cowardice, the inability to speak truth to power, and the refusal to stand on principle when there might be a cost attached to doing so, remaining silent just to get along with no regard for the future being left to future generations ("I have a job/kids, I can't stick my head out.")

Activists subverting every institution, kicking out all but their own, failing to investigate their own for fraud, then fake conservatives taking bribes, falling for honeytraps or other coercion. It's not a level playing field. For years I heard of the koch brothers in the US as boogeymen, then found Tides Foundation and others spend many multiples what they ever did. The CCP and cartels influence quite a lot more than most realize. ie One has used non-citizens to join the LPC and vote in nomination processes to put forward their own assets. I guess the far left today has been taken over by a crowd that has other agendas and doesn't like honesty. But I know plenty of people who aren't conservative who are unhappy about all this too. While I am a conservative myself, I've always seen your commentary as involving things that really aren't political in nature, but some political animals out there have made them so I guess.

As a "Progressive" i agree. I've personally never been afraid to debate to the best of my ability, despite my complete lack of skill of doing so. Typing words on the internet is arguably better because i can take time to respond and do so articulately. I always despised those on the Left who become too cowardly to stand up for anything. Who don't wanna debate or reason with anyone about whatever it is they side on. The low-key ( and sometime not low at all) _elitisms_ amongst some has always unnerved me too.
Although, to some minor extent, i also understand why that started to become a thing amongst some on the Left originally, largely in response to the growth of the radical Far-Right Theocrats, who've driven the conservative arguments on religion to the Farthest Right imaginably, over a much longer period of time.
Short of it: We need to collectively grow up, and quit lying, and mischaracterizing to one another.

I can't speak for anyone else, but conservatism lost me when the Conservative Party of my country murdered 350,000+ of their own people with austerity politics, and they have not been voted out after more than 10 years in power. So, my question is, how am I supposed to take the accusation that "the left controls government" seriously when the right-wingers responsible for all that bloodshed are *still* ruling over my country, *still* inflicting pointless amounts of pain, death, and misery on innocent people, and our Labour Party has pretty much had all the leftism ripped right out of it?

I was forthright and reported it immediately.
My regional supervisor decided to take my entire $4300 quarterly bonus over that. I'd worked there 5 years at the time without an accident, ticket, complaint, injury or damage to anything. I had no negative record with my company at all and had never cost them anything, I only made them money hand over fist.
He stole my bonus because he could and there was no appeal.
It was the only time in my life I can honestly say I was a victim.
    All for telling the truth.
I could've easily lied and said it wasn't me. There were no cameras and no witnesses and the minimal damage was cosmetic. In the oil fields, no one cares about that anyway. A supervisor didn't even have to drive all the way out there and fill out a report. I took all the pictures and wrote up what happened. All he had to do was type on his keyboard and click his mouse and I'm out $4300.
I learned a lesson that day and certainly don't think _honesty is the best policy_ is right anymore. Not for me.

Couple that with the fact that I had to drive in rush-hour traffic both in the morning AND the evening, AND wear a uniform, AND go through a shit ton of training to even get the job, and...well, you get the idea. Not only that, but I was still reeling from losing one of my dearest friends earlier in the year. I hadn't given myself enough time to grieve her passing, and when I finally rage quit UPS, the combined weight of everything I went through that year slammed me into a severe depression. • @bananabread6148
    @bananabread6148 Год назад +24

These are the real reasons that conservatives lose:
    1. You're out of touch. The majority of republican voters are over the age of 50. That should tell you that your approach is not resonating with the younger generations. This should be cause for questions, but is usually dismissed instead as a fluke. This doesn't mean that you need to change your values to appeal to younger people, but change your approach. And be willing to admit and learn when you're wrong. I think that Lauren Southern is actually doing good work in that regard. She is willing to examine some of the conditions that push young people to the left. Hint: it's not just liberal owned media, institutions, schools, etc. Although that's part of it.
    2. Your political opponents on the left benefit from decades of activism and advanced political organizing, stretching all the way back to the civil rights era. They draw upon this knowledge to train young activists how to be effective. Activist training is baked into leftist philosophy and culture. Not only that, but they truly believe in their cause. To many on the left, political organizing is a lifestyle and they are willing to dedicate whatever it takes to meet their goals, even if they are not getting paid for it. There is no right wing equivalent.
    3. In contrast to the previous point, most of the prominent right wing influencers are more passionate about lining their own pockets than they are about any political cause. The evidence is in the fact that many large, right wing influencers do nothing more than peddle surface level outrage bait to their audience. I rarely ever see anyone actually elaborating below surfave level on anything they report. It always boils down to "let's point and laugh at the freaks" or "X group is destroying society." Nobody seems to be interested in the hows & whys. The Daily Wire is a perfect example. Anything they produce that is even slighly more informative or culturally relevant that could potentially make waves is stuck behind a paywall. For example: Matt Walsh's "What is a Woman." That documentary could have made an impact in many corners of the internet had it been available to a wider audience. But the Daily Wire prioritizes money over shifting culture. The left understands that those kinds of documentaries should be free, because they are a cultural investment. The only people willing to pay to watch these things are your own supporters, so you just end up preaching to the choir.
    4. You're not paying enough attention to what the left is doing, nor are you doing enough to counter it. It's not sufficient to raise awareness about some of the activism that the left is doing and leave it at that. The left doesn't rest on their laurels. They are ALWAYS working, lobbying the govt, corporations & schools. They never stop doing workshops and trainings. Even when you expose what they're doing, they will continue to do it. Even when you create laws to prevent their teaching, they work around them. They are highly organized, intelligent, and they believe that they are saving the world. You have to understand that they will not give up, which means that keeping up with what they are doing is a full time job.

Disagree with the last few moments of this clip. While most people feel some form of reciprocity, sociopaths see do gooders as weak and this justifies taking advantage of these 'stupid people' as sociopaths see them even more. Sociopaths are predators of others wealth, power and position. It is the human drive to survive individually at all costs with almost no recognition that others' lives have personal value to themselves.
There is no cure for this personality type in my opinion. I think it is an element of the mix of human genetics that has been with us for eons.

Well, many TV shows, movies, video games, books, etc... have told the story of how responsibility has better consequences than being irresponsible. Most "heroic" shows that aren't infested with angst, or being "subverted" by bad writers fall into that category. There are a few problems with that, however, and a few reasons why that message doesn't resonate when told as a story.
    1. Most good stories about responsibility don't try to sugar-coat the serious consequences of being responsible (such as Star Trek TNG; "First Duty," and "The Legend of Zelda; Ocarina of Time".) This makes the responsible characters very often seem less like enviable figures and more like pitiable ones.
    2. Most characters who derive meaning from being responsible (Batman, for instance,) are routinely co-opted and written poorly, specifically to break them of this.
    3. Most characters who are written as deriving meaning from responsibility (Batman, Superman, Master Splinter, Luke Skywalker, Samurai Jack, Lion-O, etc...) are male. It is just as important to encourage responsibility in women as it is in men, and quite a bit harder to do; especially through the medium of storytelling. This matters now especially, since LGBTQABCZXY*@ never would have gone anywhere, had it not been for the support of female activists. How are you expecting people to win anything, when a large portion of the population don't care about the stories you're telling? And no; I'm certainly not saying that we need to fill some kind of diversity quota or anything. I'm saying you need a plan to inspire women to take responsibility, or this thing can't go anywhere. If women aren't willing to do this, many men won't be willing either, and they'll tell you that you're operating under a double-standard for even suggesting it.
    4. Most people recognize that there is a difference between fiction and reality. Therefore, the lessons of fiction shouldn't necessarily be taken too seriously. Some are very good, but others only apply in the context of the show or movie in question, and would be terrible lessons to apply to real life.
    5. If instead of "story," what you mean is "framing device for real events," you're talking about the art of making things look like other things, and there is no book on how to do that, though some online content creators have been doing this pretty successfully for the last decade or so.
    6. Finally, how do you coerce people into accepting that responsibility, beyond conveying that it can subjectively make some people feel as though their actions have meaning? Once again, sadly, you show the critical weakness of modern conservatism by referring only to your ages-old method; shame.
Shame will not work. The left has been shaming independent thinkers for years, for not doing things that made no rational sense, so the people who are not part of the cult, and whose minds are open to a better way forward, are already immunized against shame as a method. If that's the best you have, you're doomed.
There are people who are rational, independent thinkers. The best way to engage with them is through honest discourse and discussion of your differences of opinion, and the reasons for those differences. Those who are rational listen to good reasons, and many of them wield great influence in the world.
There are also people who are entirely self-centered, who are only concerned about their own lives and their own fates, and who recognize that the left's methods are not best for either one. The best way to engage with them is to convince them that responsibility will yield rewards, that will allow them to improve their lives, or that there is a larger, further-off prize that will benefit them even more in the long run. These methods used to be used by Christians to make converts, and now, neither one is used, except by independent, Christian speakers.
The only kind of person who you can't get through to with these methods are people who are emotionally-impulsive; who react instead of making choices. Because they don't take responsibility for the choices they make, many of these people are actual lunatics, and there's a reason why such people were once locked up in asylums until they were no longer a danger to themselves or others. As they're not independent thinkers, shame might actually work on them, but only if they're kept from escaping before the process is complete.
Finally, no message that you send out into the world is more convincing than a person's experiences. No matter how much you try to preach responsibility to a man who's been divorce-robbed by a fickle ex-wife, he won't listen to you, because he knows that the consequences of trying to be responsible for another person can be catastrophic and life-ruining if they turn on you with the full backing of the family court system. This is just one example of how this can happen. If it seemed as though conservatives were making a sincere effort to try to solve the real problems, which are responsible for these kinds of experiences, perhaps more people would listen, but placing the entire burden of fixing a broken system solely on the shoulders of each individual person is always a losing bet; especially when you're not fighting those battles with all of your might either.
On the flip side of that, when a person's decision to take responsibility leads to them gaining obvious, measurable benefits that they couldn't gain otherwise, it will teach them that responsibility is often a good thing. For instance, when the Ipod Classic went off the market, I went looking for an alternative from some other company. It was a hard hunt, and difficult to adjust to, at first, but in the long run, the benefits have outweighed the burdens. Conservatives should put more effort into encouraging this kind of behavior, because people will have an easier time adjusting to responsibility if they already have firsthand experience that the most convenient choice is very rarely the most rewarding.

Aside from social issues, the number one reason why conservatives lose (especially with young people) is due to the repetitive economic banter.
"Get married, buy a home, work for 30+ years, pay into Social Security!"
I am 29 years old and I am one of the last of my age group to be buying homes. People even a few years behind me can't afford it!
I was fortunate enough to buy a home in Spring of 2020, get married, and have a child.
However, for younger people this is almost impossible with how much the US Dollar has been devalued over the last 40 years. The repercussions of Covid were that the devaluation of our living standards sped up by almost a decade in a short period of time.
Many young people saw their parent's marriages destroyed in the 2000s, they look at a $400k home as utterly impossible, and they KNOW they will never receive Social Security. All the while the interest sitting on their student loans will be nearly impossible to pay off should those loans resume.
People can't even afford to pay their loans currently while we are sitting at dangerous inflationary levels. If one mishap were to take place in the stock market, the inflation would temporarily drop and then soar to 20%+ percent; it will make June inflation of 9.1% look like a cake walk.
People are terrified of the economic repercussions we are up against. So when young people hear "work harder, get married, pull yourself up"; it just doesn't click with tens of millions of people. It truly feels like fighting against a tsunami sized tidal wave.
I can't exactly empathize with their situation because the money I earned and the timing of my lifestyle were impeccable. However, I'm fully aware of what they say and how they think. The American Dream that Boomers and Gen X peddle to people doesn't exist anymore.

Indeed, the "adventure" of goodness. It's a very hard adventure to tell the truth and be good. But it is an adventure.
As a good man once said who was so kind to me as a graduate student, and who left such a lasting contribution of goodness inside me:
Humanity is no longer imaginable without science. But no more is science possible without some religion to animate it. It is the complete failure of the social-democratic state to solve the problem of its defense which threatens to suppress all its other virtues and to transform it into something different -- a militarized garrison state -- or to overthrow it altogether. The final conclusion, therefore, is that organizations are here to stay, and though the only solution to many of the problems which they raise seems to be ever more and larger organizations, yet there is no substitute for the Word of God -- the sharp sword of truth in the prophetic individual, the penetrating moral insight that cuts through the shows and excuses of even the best organized society.

Wrong . The “ man” you slander is the only way to save the USA . He is the only one fighting against ALL the media , ALL the deep state , ALL the war machine , ALL the corruption , WHILE standing up for every man , woman and child . EVEN the unborn . Stopped all endless wars under his term , forged a peace agreement in Middle East , and made USA energy independent and prosperous again .
Make America Great Again . What is wrong with doing that ? Exactly ?

@@stuey2112 internet forums are such a place of non-dialogue and simply regurgitating whatever the left/right-media feeds people constantly. Case in point: in my comment I specifically addressed Jordan’s points in the video, on acting out and living certain moral and behavioral values. This juxtaposed over Donald Trump’s public actions and behavior. Simply shouting slogans such as “HE fights all the media”, “He fights the deep state” etc, items where multiple people may issue multiple opinions on the issue BUT which have absolutely nothing in connection with the argument discussed here is yet another example of how people on both sides of the spectrum behave, increasingly, like fanatical members in a religious cult, versus rational adults debating ideas.
