this show is an animator's heaven, honestly, james baxter taught them how to do smooth horse animation, the main character is animated with a different lineart signaling their separation from reality, it's never less than 24 fps probably (though that usually doesn't matter, it's just wonderful here) and so much attention is paid to the art i love it.
James Baxter wasn't involved to my knowledge. I think OP was just saying their love of James Baxter gave them a keen eye for animation fluidity. (If James Baxter was involved, hell yeah, but I don't recall seeing his name in any of the credits)

SHE is making them stronger, while Horse is blindly losing everything that matters to her being an idiot. It also makes clear that in centaurworld everything is a centaur. EVERYTHING. I honestly think the Taurnado is a nod to the Wild Hunt, a folkloric motive surprisingly common across many different cultures which basically explains the howling wind as an army/hunting party of ghosts you're adviced to stay away from, lock all your doors and windows and never to attract its attention or you might become part of it.
Yoo I'm so glad more people are slowly checking out centaurworld. It's such a wonderful show made by people who clearly had no restrictions on what topics they wanted to cover and show absolutely benefited from it. From depression, loss, selfishness, arrogance, recklessness, learning to care about others, embracing change and being scared of it initially but learning to accept it, and more. It's so beautifully animated the music is excellent, and the voice acting is perfection. Zulius is my favorite by far.

ABSOLUTELY you should watch Centaurworld. The absolute tonal whiplash can be a lot to deal with sometimes but it's totally worth it for the amazing animation and story combined. I'm not usually a musical guy but this one was a real experience :]
Yes watch the show. Netflix messed up with the blah clip it shows. They should have showcased some of the singing and action. I legit clicked on it by accident and I’m so glad I did. At 1st I didn’t know what it was bc the horse wasn’t talking like in the clip and then Rider started singing. When it got silly I got nervous but it’s perfect. Loved it.
Yeah it felt like netflix poorly marketed this show..😣 like yeah its initially bright colourful and obnoxious but it's for a reason to contrast the sadness, fear and war So not a shallow show
Comfortable Doug and his song "The Hero Of My Story" are easily the best character and song of the series. And the Nowhere King and his song "Hush Now" are absolutely chilling.
It's a great show - if nearly impossible to classify. I've been describing it as "what if Adventure Time was a Broadway musical" - which isn't a perfect analogy, but it's the best I've come up with. i only knew about this show because of Josh Radnor (yes, Ted from HIMYM). i loved HIMYM and i was super into his music and when i checked his spotify one day there were songs from Centaurworld.
The fact you didn't listen to "What if I Forget your Face?" is a crime. My favorite CentaurWorld song ♥️ (But I've seen that you watched the show, so I forgive you haha)

I LOVE CENTAURWORLD it's so waky and dark I saw the first ep on youtube and am waiting to get Netflix soon to binge it heard only good things you should watch it
Listening to these as just audio eithout the actually scenes would've been better tbh. Moments of normal speech snd sound effects gets in the way, the part with the big tornado beast thing is ESPECIALLY amazing with just the audio to focus on.. Im still happy you checked the songs out though! This show is super underrated 💙
It’s a testament to the strong and well developed themes and awesome creative mood of the show that even without context you were able to understand so much of what was to come!
I love that you stated that, with all the denial and distractions it's like rainbows and happiness but war? shut up rainbows and happiness *eye twitch*
TBH I usually skip ahead in reaction videos where they get to the discussion part of the reaction, but you're a delight to listen to and I really enjoyed listening to you talk about the songs.
Since you enjoyed Kimiko Glenn and Jessie Mueller's voices, maybe check out the original Broadway cast recording of Waitress. They were fantastic in that show which Sara Bareilles wrote the music for. PS the female vocal cast of Centaurworld is pretty much a best of Broadway.
I got so excited to see this in my notifications. YES Centaurworld! I watched through the whole thing twice in two days. I really like the character growth through the series too! There's like 3 songs in each episode, (a couple are reprises) it's excellent.
Yesssss so excited to watch this! I'm not sure about the show yet but the soundtrack absolutely slaps! And I would love to see your reaction to the show ☺️♥️
Hell yeah Centaurworld rocks and so underrated, I know it just came out recently but in that timespan yours is literally the first video I'm seeing anyone do on it and that's such a shame because this show is beeautiful. Speaking of underrated modern animation, I think you would LOVE netflix's Hilda, that show is... incredible and so underappreciated. It's beautiful and so warm and cozy it'll melt your heart, and season 2 has some really deep and emotional storytelling to add to that, and of course character arcs! AND it has incredible music! I know, just a shot in the dark but hey.
Centaurworld surprised me in a very positive way. Going to adress here, spoiler free I think, the point its most outstanding for me: mature themes. For a show rated for 10 years old, the show has pretty mature themes, but without naming them, and the way they do it is just right. For a long time now, kids shows are being produced so poorly in mu opnion. Everything is bias, the episodes are always a means to its end, theres no plot, no construction, no character development, and they threat kids like they are dumb. Centaurworld makes me feel nostalgic of shows I watched when I was this age. Shows that portraited the real world without sugarcotting it but without causing trauma too. Just like it should be. Bacuse putting kids in a bubble then throwing them into the world is terrible. Even if the kids dont quite get some of the themes - like depression, kleptomania, suicide, boundaries, self esteem - they have a healthy contact with how to perceive and deal with these things, that will be in the back of the mind till they need it. Congratulations for everyone involved in the project.
YES YES!!! maybe it's my frayed emotional state but i ended up tearing up a couple of times here with you. this show is outstanding, won't say anything but it definitely is worth your time. i'd personally love a video of your reactions & review if you do end up doing it :]
I'm glad you enjoy the music and I really hope you end up watching the series, whether you decide to film it or not. Tbh I'm glad you didn't listen to 'Welcome to the Bay'. It's honestly... a lot, I wasn't prepared for it.
Aww, I was just randomly searching for Centaurworld song reactions and started watching this, and was REALLY looking forward to seeing him react to all the different songs in full, then got super bummed when I realized that wasn't happening. Especially because I LOVE your analysis of the songs, and the tiny (very tiny) clips of your actual reactions to them. I mean don't get me wrong, I totally get WHY he didn't show his full reactions with the songs playing, but I'm still sad about it 😅 Also idk if he eventually watched the show yet, but it kinda sucks that he basically spoiled both MAJOR plot points for the show, AND the best part of it, the songs. Seriously, the songs were what made me immediately go WOAH when I first started watching it, and made me realize how deep the show actually was. It's a shame he didn't just decide to go ahead and watch the whole show first
there is infact a video up of me watching the show, and if it makes you feel better, nothing was spoiled for me really because of having no context lol i've done 'music of' for shows a couple times on the channel and i rarely feel spoiled, but with context later i definitely see why people are like "UUUHHHH thats a big moment" lol
You should totally record your reaction to the show! I was surprised cause im pretty sure you missed some songs and got others out of order which is good cause you didnt get too many spoilers
this is the soundtrack order, idk about the show order? but yeah, 30+ songs is too much for a video, and i managed to come out unscathed from spoilers because i don't know much beyond the general "horse hero's journey in magic world" pitch lol
@@thethirdbill well im really excited to see your full reaction to it! Especially cause you didn't even hear some of my favorite songs lol. Its a good show and is fitting for the times. I know you said no spoilers but would you want any trigger warnings? Cause some of the topics later on get intense
I usually don't comment on videos too much because 8 feel silly putting my heart into a comment that no one will see, but you are worth it, my dude. I subbed with notifications on 2 minutes into your commentary. i only knew about this show because of Josh Radnor (yes, Ted from HIMYM). i loved HIMYM and i was super into his music and when i checked his spotify one day there were songs from Centaurworld.
The soundtrack slaps so hard. I can’t stop listening to it
I really liked the concept of the taurnado, and I'm kinda sad they didn't return to that subject.
This show has amazing songs!
The Taurnado is one of my favorites, the harmony of the voices all singing together is so beautiful and creepy
The fact you didn't listen to "What if I Forget your Face?" is a crime. My favorite CentaurWorld song ♥️
(But I've seen that you watched the show, so I forgive you haha)
Oh, I LIKE you. It's been a LONG time since I talked back to a RUclipsr out loud. You make me wish I'd been with you to get all excited over the show and music together!
I LOVE CENTAURWORLD it's so waky and dark
I saw the first ep on youtube and am waiting to get Netflix soon to binge it heard only good things you should watch it
Listening to these as just audio eithout the actually scenes would've been better tbh.
Finaly this show has super good musics, my favorite one is the king of nowhere i love cute/creepy songs
The Taurnado song is fucking HORRIFYING and I don’t understand why noone talks about it
I got so excited to see this in my notifications. YES Centaurworld! I watched through the whole thing twice in two days. I really like the character growth through the series too! There's like 3 songs in each episode, (a couple are reprises) it's excellent.
Your reaction to the "we were at war" part was EXACTLY my reaction
The love for this show in these comments makes me SO HAPPY because it's my favorite ever.
I AM SO GLAD MY FAVRITE REACTOR IS REACTING TO MY FAVRITE SHOW THIS IS AWESOME AND I CANT STOP SMILINNG THANK YOU SO MUCH
Hes gonna cry so many times watching the actual show(I know for a fact bc I cried multiple times watching the show)
Yesssss so excited to watch this! I'm not sure about the show yet but the soundtrack absolutely slaps! And I would love to see your reaction to the show ☺️♥️
I love "Who is she?" and the reprise too (that was actually the song that made me watch the show)
Glendale is the best thing about this show, but The Nowhere King is my close second favorite character.
I'm completely in love with this show. I hope it picks up a bigger following soon and that it gets more seasons.
I mean don't get me wrong, I totally get WHY he didn't show his full reactions with the songs playing, but I'm still sad about it 😅
Also idk if he eventually watched the show yet, but it kinda sucks that he basically spoiled both MAJOR plot points for the show, AND the best part of it, the songs. Seriously, the songs were what made me immediately go WOAH when I first started watching it, and made me realize how deep the show actually was. It's a shame he didn't just decide to go ahead and watch the whole show first
there is infact a video up of me watching the show, and if it makes you feel better, nothing was spoiled for me really because of having no context lol i've done 'music of' for shows a couple times on the channel and i rarely feel spoiled, but with context later i definitely see why people are like "UUUHHHH thats a big moment" lol
this show is beautifully chaotic
MORE PLEASE!!! I have binged this show like 4 times already and have been waiting for you to react to its music!!!
You are so empathetic and you wear your heart on your sleeve, it's so refreshing to see, and it makes me feel better as a transparent idiot.
