Same here. I feel like all I do is work. I'm the first to get there last to leave by hours each night. Work half the weekend. Because others aren't pulling their weight. At the same time, if I were to mention that the others aren't doing anything, I'm the bad guy. And I don't get any extra reward or recognition. I'm probably going to be looking elsewhere.
Oh yes the one always commenting on what you're doing, "Oh you're getting water, oh you're getting a snack." I even had someone say as they were walking by and I was at my desk, "Look at you looking in your purse!" 🤦🤦🤦
There's also the "nosy coworker".... "Hey, what are you doing?"..."Exactly, what is your job?......"Is that NEW car in the parking lot car YOURS?"....."How could you afford THAT?" (Me: Well after driving around my old car for 13 years, I thought I deserved one." Meanwhile they are getting new SUV's every 5 years!) ....Then they run to the "office gossiper," who runs to the big boss to say, "Hey, don't promote Miss O-D, because she has lots of money....Look at the NEW Toyota sitting in the parking lot." (That Toyota was $15,000 while the gossiper and everyone else's ride is a $30,000 SUV!" Guess who got promoted? I was brought up to work like your life depends on it....."If you're on time, you're late so always be early."......Guess what? My dad was a WWII vet. My parents survived the "Great Depression." They have values they passed on to me, so I can't gossip, slow down, be late, or take extra time for lunch. It just not in my blood. Most "over doers" don't care about what everyone else is doing, because they are too busy and don't have time to complain.
The last one is me to the fullest but it seems as though those who barely do anything or those who came years after me or those who just don't do nothing but play on the phone all day or show up late they get more respect or get treated more fairly, they get praised for doing nothing but being a pain in my behind cause I'm busting my ass all day for a job that don't give a care about me but I'm not lazy and I'm a hard worker that's just how I was brought up . Parents taught me how to be a success once I leave the nest . And at my job nobody likes me for that fact cause I do what I'm supposed to do plus more I go above and beyond and they hate that . It's like if you ain't cool with the management then to tell with you .So now I stopped doing it all

Idk if this is a job that u dreamed of having but i work at a McDonalds im a teenager. I absolutely hate my job but i always do what im supposed to and if i cant figure something out i ask. Im in the same boat as u. The people who have been there much longer than me but do next to nothing get way more favored than me but to me i just go to work to make my coin and leave. You should never stop doing your best because of what other people think of you. Hell barely anyone likes me there they always make fun of me because of how i do things. When i wipe the grilll they make fun of me because at mcdonalds they are trained to do it a different way. A way they mever care to tell me so i do it how my mother taught me to clean. I have one friend but like i said i just go to make my money gotta eat because if they ever started looking for reasons to fire people i know i wouldn't be one because i do nothing but exactly what im supposed to do and more so they never have a reason to give me problems and i get to relax. The overdoers who don't want to go home because they are unhappy at home with spouse or significant other....in other words not getting any at home....and want everybody to stay all night too....pile the work on somebody at quitting time....sorry somebody's lack of a love life not my problem.....I want to go home at quitting time
I don’t work with a Mr too much Cologne, but take a regular bus with one. When I was pregnant I had really bad aversions to smells. Needless to say, during one trip, he saw when I had for breakfast that morning and never sat near me ever again
I have the coworker who literally says hi to me between 12-20 times a day. He’s the volunteer…the brown noser. I have another who needs to supply us earplugs because his cologne is so loud. (Nothing but dudes in my building). Then I have the slackers who do the bare minimum and are always on their cell phones. You hit the nail on the head sir.
I told a senior tht a resident needed changing cos he kept getting up and didnt seem settled. As i came to the person to help them sit down for 7th time, i noticed he smelled like he needed taking to toilet. This co worker started calling me mad and tht im imagining it and hes ok cos she changed him already. She was calling me names. I then told sr. he needed help and the previous one was telling me to shut my mouth and mind my business. Why be like this over something simple tht needs to be done
I use Mink hairspray in my hair and have asked people at work to tell me if it bothers them. Not only did they all say no, a few of the women now also use it! I only use a very light amount to smooth out frizzies. I don't wear any scent on my skin because of allergies and yes, I also wear deodorant! 😂
Wow like nobody raised their hand!!!! All I know is work work work and I struggle. More than half those people looked around like it wasn’t a thing. I’m blessed because I look at the little I have and I’m so happy that I busted my butt to get it. People don’t realize the beauty and sense of worth you get from working hard. I know a 73 year old painter that still paint and will work circles around the youngsters. He looks like he’s in his 40 s and every time I seen someone ask how he stayed so young looking and strong he said “ I never retired. I just never stopped living “ !!!!! Yeah try to wrap that around your head.
Most over-doers are complainers who make themselves martyrs. Half the time they didn't need to do the work and should've minded their own business. Even if a coworker is genuinely not doing the work because of laziness, the over-doer is just enabling them. They should let the lazy suffer the consequences or do the work but don't complain. Otherwise they're seen as an arrogant, self-righteous troublemaker who gets eye-rolls all the time lol. There are some who are well-meaning but sometimes they can still cause problems
Depends. Where I work everything needs to be done before end shift or everyone has to stay. The ones who slack off will just leave leaving those who aren’t slackers you to finish their work
