You are 100% correct in that back in the day trance DJ's never pigeon holed themselves to 100% trance. IE Paul van Dyk is remembered for Trance but in the 90's also mixed in tracks that are classified as Techno, Hard Trance and Hard House. This kind of mixing pot is really missing when people today mix a classic set. I'm excited to hear today's DJ's are being creative and bringing this back. And please do make more classic sounding tracks like this. Here I am looking on Discogs for it on vinyl 😆
Man I am always so excited to see an @Estuera video. Not only is the music great, but you're using real synths to make them. Keep it up and I'll be here!
Back in the mid to late 90's there was this one radio channel in my country playing Techno Trance Acid DnB Jungle etc in their 8-hour night segment from 10pm to 6am or something like that and this track is good example of what type of music they played. I was a wee teen back then and had that channel on every night to just fall asleep to. Good times...
Dude, this was worth the wait! Holy moly, what an awesome track. So much going on in this track, all those beeps and bobs and these strong "7 days and one week" vibes. It's great what you did here. Control the night! Control the night! Control the night! Control the night! Control the night! Control the night! Control the night! Control the night! Well done!
lol I was on the same tip, Melodic Techno just sounds like formative late-90's Trance to me; Just neat how some elements just come back around as something new again, given enough time
I love this, and instantly recognized the riff sound from "Thunderground"... then read through the comments and learned about "Hit hard". Really enjoy this channel, thanks man!
Hi friend. Dont be sad of toxic people! Thank you for givvin me the oldskool vibe in these days. Best sounds ever made! 90s electronic music will never repeat again. 😢 But, a lot of prosucers trying to go back in time and thats realy good view for the future :) 🎉 Love your channel!❤
Hey Jonas! Just wanted to say that it's an HONOR to be on the same album (ISOS19) as you! Track 4 of Mix 3 (the one you're also on) is mine. Nice video again too, love the new release.
Excellent work, and thank you for this interesting video 👍🙂. BTW, I remember your song "Silent waves" (from 2006 if I remember right), stored in my "Trance Very Best" folder 🙂
I like those acid lines, but best ingredient is that pitch bended m1 synth! I would like to see, how you arranged that track. Anyway - thank you for your content. It is always very educating.
As soon as I heard the vocal sample I knew where it came from. Aphrodite is my favorite jungle producer/dj. Awesome track. Instantly transports me to the late 90s. ❤
It is also inspired from Nalin inc - Planet Violet. Greetings from belgium, I do similar in progressive slower beat but miss that 90’s, access virus, juno 106, sh-101, tr-909 and jv-1080 etc…
This is great 👍, always enjoy when you have a new upload. I know you have previously done a happy hardcore video but would you consider doing one in the style of 90's UK happy hardcore? Hixxy, Dougal, Vinylgroover etc?
Thanks! I did a 90s 'rave' video as well 2 years ago that touches the uk happy hardcore sound a bit, it was more the early Prodigy kind of thing though.
Very wise words with regards to breaking down the boundaries within different genres & sub-genres. After growing up raving in the early 90's, I feel DJ sets were much more open to explore different types of music back then, the DJ was allowed more freedom to explore a wider musical experience and providing a more diverse journey and everyone gained from that. I'm glad it's returning to those happy times! As always loved the video, keep up the great work! =)
An excellent track, which took me back to those years. I hope that one day you can make a video about Spacesynth, of which I remember listening to some tracks when I was 7 or 8 years old on an FM radio station.
Timeless classic.... frankly this is my jam... the atmosphere/soundscape of the 90's with movie samples and of course the 303! I like it clean like this.... it's not over complicated sounding... some modern tracks have everything including the kitchen sink in them :/ Hey Jonas.. Can you tell me about your DAW choice? Your experience with other DAW's and why you use Cubase?
Thanks :) About why Cubase: When I started out in the late 90s that's what the people I worked with were using and showed me how to work with it. My first version was midi but soon after I upgraded to the first Cubase VST version. I did use Ableton as well from time to time for dj mixes but my main DAW always has been Cubase, it can do everything I want and does it very well.
Really nice track, it hits so many different 90s trance vibes and they all work together nicely in this super immersive journey through nostalgia. I'm not sure if the other reference was meant to be Straydog - Mirror but with the sine and the very emotional chords it reminded me a lot of it. Either way, very nice work, so many small elements and details (flanger on the ride) to enjoy
Instant classic song, you're truly my inspiration and a lot of the music I've made recently has been pushed forward by lessons you instilled. Much love
Great to see how you build up the track and you share it. Also nice to see how the old guys CS1x and M1 are still really usable when applying (I suppose) a great reverb on it (Valhalla Vintage Reverb?).

Fantastic track. It's quite amazing how little elements you need to make a full track, although I guess I'm always a fan of minimal arrangements. I played in brass bands for many years and the arrangements always tend to be pretty maximal. Perhaps brass players don't like counting bars?
