It's time for me to...start my own night market!!! For years, I've been a vendor at a handful of LA based markets BUT it's time I finally play host and create my own! the one with the book wall is my fav! it was perfect. the big industrial warehouse one after it was spacious but honestly scary 😭 and i felt like there was a lot more stuff laying around for people to mess with. i also liked the last one 🐇
omggg one thing i dont think i can handle will be rats at night in these warehouses!!! i love my bunny babies but rats are a whole different breed in LA. Those things can be the size of cats!!!!

Safety is much more important than big volumes of people I wouldn't bite off more than you can chew for your first event and ditch places that have stairs and no other access for people who are not able-bodied and if this is gonna be a reocurring thing for you guys than learn all about insurances you'll need to host these events the owner wasn't being strict they're asking for their renters to be informed

Ooof ive had to do this for a pop up event and got the leg workout of a lifetime! Was drenched in sweat before the event even started! We tried our best with our selection but there still is a staircase. Our vendor application will be up tomorrow at 11am pst!
not to mention people with disabilities!
The fact that the graffiti warehouse guy said you could do X-rated things in there, made me worried for that black light he was showing you guys, LMAO 😅

hi guys, little culture shock here! I have no idea of what's a "night market". Watching the video, I guess..like a sort of event where you can Thrift/buy stuff, but there's olso music and bar (for entrateinment)

6:15 waiiit so you have ONE month to find and rent a warehouse, fix the place if necessary, plan a setup, organize a DJ, security staff, a barkeeper, food trucks, tattoo artist, someone who cleans the space, buy decor, lights, sitting areas or other furniture, build them and then get permits and licenses to be allowed to host people (security stuff) or to sell stuff etc etc the list is so long wow- oh and go find enough vendors and visitors - I mean I’m pretty sure you guys planned and calculated a lot beforehand but it doesn’t really sound like it in the video🫣 is a month even enough time to advertise it? Don’t get me wrong I’m SO excited and definitely would go (if I would live on the same continent lol) but ahh idk I’m just confused maybe bc getting permits and stuff would take sooo long in my country

Thanks for pointing out how much goes into throwing a night market!!! I vend at them all the time and didn't realize HOW MUCH MORE goes into them! But, so far we are on track. There's one day permits + insurances that are easy to get within a matter of minutes online. But, for the most part, our vendors are the ones who will need to provide permits (alcohol and food vendors). Good thing about living in LA is that it's full of creatives so i have friends who are djs, singers, musicians and can be talent for the market. I'm also in the vintage scene here so literally everyone i know is a reseller so getting booths filled wont be an issue. Security has already been called, quoted, and scheduled. This week we're pushing out ads and marketing to get more interest! I also wfh so i have plenty of flexibility in my schedule to get things done. I've been handling all this myself and ngl it is a lot for one person especially juggling filming/editing/uploading video BUT IT'S WORTH IT!!! The bookshelf venue was MY FAVORITE and cant wait for this market to come to life july 20th!!!
