    Nice comparison. I feel that the Ikea one did the worst job, it also looks less stable than Wilton, maybe because it doesn't have those two little "feet" to stabilize it. The AgBay is probably the best out of them all but it's pretty expensive and also too big, so it's probably not suitable for casual baking. I'd probably go for the Wilton one or the two levelers, as I've got a big knife from Zenker much similar to the one you use, they're probably the best choice for home cooking and they're indeed pretty cost effective.

    I wish I could afford the agbay. I would give it 5 stars! But it does look big, it would be hard to store. I have the wilton leveler. It works 4 out of 5 times. I have tried to cut a 12 inch cake and I think you can only cut up to 10inch cake! Your layers have to be room temperature. Ive tried to cut through semi frozen and it was very hard.but for the most part if you just need to cut smaller cakes, i think its fine. I am interested in the diy knife one. I have seen someone else use that in a video and they liked it?! Thank you for this video!!!😍😍😍

      Yes the Agbay is very expensive. It is the best of them all too. But I think unless you're selling cakes that have to be impeccable, the Wilton one is great and also the DIY green kitchen fixator which I really like. You only need a long sharp bread knife. Thank you for watching 🥰🌸

    Do you level them when the cakes are still warm or cold??

    • @rosan6490
      @rosan6490 4 месяца назад

      Cold. It's better as it reduces crumbs and softer cakes lay fall apart when you try to cut them hot. But not frozen

      Also salted butter cuts the sweetness in American buttercream. I have made this buttercream before using other recipes but I never whipped it so many times till it became pale colour. It did get a bit soft due to heat from the hands and I just put the piping bag in the fridge for 5 mins and used it again
      Thanks for your inspiring videos, appreciate it
      I will try the other types of frosting you have.

    The Agbay seemed to work best but is it really worth the price when there are other options available? The IKEA one looked like it did a terrible job. I'll definitely avoid that one

    • @WaltonCakeBoutique
      @WaltonCakeBoutique  3 года назад

      Yes the AGBAY is by far the best. The price is very high but worth it in the long term, especially if you were to level several cakes daily. The IKEA one has a blunt blade and I think that was one of the biggest downfalls as well as not being ergonomically designed. I could not get any traction while using it and it was awkward to hold.

  • @truthinthefaceoftyranny

    The professional expensive one looks like it belongs in a professional bakery that deals with very large cakes....like the size of triple and quadruple layer wedding cakes. But for home bakers, the Wilton looks adequate. The Ikea ....is a heck nah.

  • @kaylonni9574
    @kaylonni9574 3 года назад +2

    I have the Wilton one and it has been working great. But I have had it for about 3 years now and the blade is starting to get harder to cut cakes. It used to go through frozen and almost frozen cakes. Not so much anymore. The Ikea one looked good until I saw the uneven cake. The DIY I don't like that you are limited in height. Big one to big and to expensive. So I guess I just need to replace my Wilton one.

    • @WaltonCakeBoutique
      @WaltonCakeBoutique  3 года назад +1

      I was actually really surprised at how great the Wilton one was. I would definitely buy that one over the Ikea one. The Ikea one was really awkward to use and also the blade is blunt. The big is very expensive, but it would be a good expense if you were cutting multiple cakes a day in a busy bakery. For home use the Wilton is perfect.
