I think that the inhibitor mod might work to remove Steve from the base. The elevated platform base was actually added a few versions (0.9.0?) ago. Two things I would like to see as craftable items - the elevated platform base and a late game power source that uses astronium as fuel.
@@catote8839 The wrecks are on every planet, ATM. There are definite patterns to what items spawn on what, but it is random. The material resources will only be whatever spawns on the planet, but you might be able to find finished things. (EG - You can find batteries and power cells on Terran.) Scrap is the only trade good, so you find wreckage everywhere. I'm hoping the drill will be used for breaking platforms up to be scrapped. Maybe use the crane to lift big pieces into a scrapper.
I just kept thinking "PICK IT UP!" every time you had trouble with placement. At least one of you really should do the new tutorial mission. As long as a platform is NOT plugged into something else, you can move it wherever you want. Even with stuff on it. Great way to collect early research pods.
you can pick up the tables and spin them with x and z once u unplug them cause they anchor when powered. also u will have to make a single use rocket to go to moon to get iron and tungsten just make sure u take enough stuff to make another single use rocket to get back also a lot of compound cause its rare on the moon
@Blitz - Hematite(iron) and wolfamite(tungsten) are found on different planets and you can only build a small ship to go there with either a solid(there and back then it breaks) or liquid thruster(which doesn't break but requires fuel which can only be made with chem station). Only one person can travel at a time. And the atmospheric condenser can take gases out of the air but only certain planets have certain gases so look at the crafting recipes and plan your journey well or you'll get stranded.
The crash you found is called a landing bay or space port, don't remember, but it is used for well landing. You can also put buildings on it. By the way when you placed the mini solar panel down on the space port it didn't activate so try put in on a 4 slot area if that makes sense. I love u r vids!
The 3 good things about playing Astroneer on Xbox is being able to hold the Left trigger and target specific things, auto-targeting things you can't see (like underground research, which can then be pulled up with a simple Right trigger), and the Rover controls. They went with a racing scheme. Right trigger = Forward, and Left = Reverse. Smooth as butter handling. I could totally see using the Play Anywhere to make a track on PC, and then race your friends on the Xbox. Too bad the Xbox terrain tool controls suck hardcore. Camera gets annoying, too. But the Rover controls....
For some reason you can't connect the main building to the back of a large platform (the side you were trying to connect it to) turn the platform around and it will work.
I hope you guys know that you guys can move around the platforms anyway you want just make sure it's not plugged in with anything so your vehicle Bay around 32:10 you could actually just turn it around

How do you use the terrain modifier to make smooth slopes? Blitz did it in the video, but I can't find anything in the game tutorials about how to make slopes. Thank you.

Unfortunately, no. The inhibitor doesn't effect spike-shrooms at all. Dynamite won't kill them. You have to dig them out. Kinda like real fungus.

if I remember right you can lift and rotate platforms when they are not plugged in (even with items on them), check the in game help for more details

Alt to make a small Hill and then Ctrl to flatten on an upward angle.
