FX’s Clipped goes behind the scenes of a notorious NBA owner’s racist remarks, captured on a tape heard around the world. The limited series charts the collision between a dysfunctional basketball organization and even less functional marriage, and the precipitating tape’s impact on an ensemble of characters striving to win against the backdrop of the most cursed team in the league.

Elgin would later drop the racial discrimination charge in the lawsuit. Unfortunately he lost in court as the jury found Baylor's termination was based on the team's poor performance.
He was not let go during a Christmas party however. It was early October 2008 right at the beginning of training camp.
The team at the time actually went out at said Elgin…”chose to resign” which obviously they lied

Sadly Elgin never won a championship and he retired in 1972 the year the Lakers finally won a championship. Jerry West finally won something.

Technically Elgin is an NBA champion as during his retirement,he was still part of the Lakers squad at the beginning of the season, but of course didn't play in the playoffs and finals.

Wow this show try to replicate winning time but the more I see it the more it feels like how Clippers are to the Lakers...even with the likes of some of the best talents...its just a cheap replica living in the shadow of the actual superstar.
Even with Ed Oneil and Lawrence Fishburn, it's nowhere near as exciting as winning time

They’re definitely not trying to replicate Winning Time. Far from it. This is a show about disfunction, not championship success.

Even the highlights are awful. As far as Baylor, I had read for years that Sterling was a bad owner who ran a "bare bones" operation. Why didnt Baylor just quit. He was there for a long time and very little changed. Since he could not change it, why did he stay for so long? I doubt it was money since Sterling did not pay his executives like other teams did. So since Elgin was the face of the team he took the blame. He needed to take the face off himself and put it on Sterling. I guess he tried with his lawsuit but it went nowhere

@@igorlobkovenko9480 Baylor stayed because he knew that he wasn’t going to get another job in any NBA front office since he was seen as the reason why the Clippers were absolute failures.
