Please don't apologize about your playing, it's a joy to listen to you! You play the piece very majestically! And I love it, Wonderful and impressive reeds too. Thank you again. 🙏😊
Thank you very very much! I always like to give little disclaimers because I know it’s not perfect and I don’t want to give a false impression that is it, but thats just my little weird thing! The reeds are gorgeous on Ripon but they are very big especially the great so it’s hard to do a smooth crescendo to full organ without hearing a big jolt in the texture when the trombas are added!
Good morning, Archie! On my way to the nearest town, I suddenly found myself listening to this marvellous tune from you and your Rippon Cathedral I had to stop and listen! THANKS! Now 10 glittering videos! Nils.
Hello, Archie! How are you? A little while ago I watched an old BBC TV programme here on RUclips: Songs of Praise 2001 from "your" cathedral, Ripon! Very interesting and fine programme with a lot of nice songs and information about Easter!!!!!! And interesting views of the Cathedral itself where you are very often! Nils from Norway.
That’s a relief then, so thank you for the reassurance 😅 but thank you a lot though and I’m glad you enjoyed, especially as you commented on the last tuba tune RUclips short and wanted to see the full thing!
No worries Archie - aww you remembered that I commented on the last Tuba Tune 😀. It's one of those pieces that I've always loved so was eally good to hear you play it in full. Will look forward to the next video. Have a great weekend
Good evening, Archie! How are you in your summer holidays, busy as always? - If you've got time, could you tell me about "The Waving Hand" in Ripon Cathedral? What was the purpose with it? Is it still in use? All the best from Nils!
@@nilskristian8735 hi Nils, sorry for the very long reply I’ve had a busy summer with choir and organ and various other personal things. The ‘waving hand’ used to be used for conducting the choir when there wasn’t a conductor and only an organist. It is controlled by a lever next to the organ console, and although it is still working we don’t really use it now because theres no need to! I hope that helps! All the best, Archie!
Thanks a lot, Archie for you explanation, very interesing to know! I always watch the Sunday Service from Ripon Cathedral, very nice! - Will you publish new music soon? All the best for you from Nils.
@@nilskristian8735 I was planning on publishing a lot more music this month but after churches canceled on me or I wasn't aloud to upload videos, Im not left with much at all unfortunately. I am trying my best to get videos out! Im very glad your enjoying the services from Ripon Cathedral! Best wishes, Archie.
@@archiedavies7538 I am very, very sorry that you have been treated so badly by churches, and that you are unable to upload videoes, but I'm looking out for better days with much more of your excellent performances on RUclips! - Last sunday - August 18 - there was an excellent organist playing marvellously fresh and glad. I can't remember his surname, only his first name, Thomas, Alley???? I'm sure you know him? Would you pass my regards to him, please? Best wishes from Nils.
Hi Archie. I keep revisiting this. Joyous❤
