American Toads having an active day.

March 16, 2024. Toads having their first frisky day at pond in Anne Arundel County. They were making quite the racket. After watching them I have a new appreciation for the expression "leap-frogging"!
A day or two later they seem to have disappeared. I read elsewhere that they come to the water mostly for breeding purposes, and that during daylight hours they are otherwise normally not seen.
