Not sure if it's been mentioned in the comments, but my old bike shop used to warn every customer to ride about 20 miles or so to "scrub" the tyres. I had a similar fall going about 21mph on my L20. Some tips, don't lean as much in less than ideal conditions, take corners much slower, and lower the PSI on your tires so they conform more to the road and give you more grip.
Chaoyang or other cheap oem tyres like this never have the best grip in non ideal conditions. They need to start using proper moped tubeless tyres on ebikes they’re so much better. For 20 inch bikes my recommendation is schwalbe super moto X.

It will be interesting to see how the cargo /passenger bike handles a big side wind . Glad you are ok .
Great review! Glad to see you ok! I was planning to order this bike, but after seeing the crash, I’m feeling a bit hesitant. I couldn’t help but think about what could’ve happened if there were two toddlers on the back seat. Here are the risks I’m concerned about: 1. Hand Safety: Kids often place their hands on the bars. In your crash, the first thing that hit the ground was the fence. What if their hands were caught between the fence and the ground during the impact? The bike from Decathlon has wider fence from feont and back specifically designed to keep children’s hands safe in such situations. I think Engwe should consider implementing something similar. 2. Footrest Hazard: The footrest flipped up during the crash. What if their feet were on it at the moment of impact? Other similar bikes have welded, solid footrests that don’t pose this kind of risk. This seems like a safety issue that needs attention. If I were to get this bike, I think I’d have to ride it at a much lower speed-around 10-15 km/h-when carrying kids. Maybe switching the tires for ones with better grip could also help reduce the risk of slipping. What do you all think? Should I still go ahead and buy this bike to take my kids to school every day? Maybe adding some extra custom accessories would help mitigate the risks
Yeah totally agree about the cage. I had my son on it today and told him to hold the saddle instead but I also went really slow around all corners. Yeah I'm unsure about the foot rests too. I don't think they really need to be flip up it doesn't save much space especially with the much wider cage. The footrests on the Fiido are similar size but not flip up.
@@e-VRCjust looked at your review of T2 fiido, the footrest risk is lower but the fence still poses same risk as it is all at one level unlike the decathlon R500E cargo bike, they need to take safety seriously. It seems like the best in the market for the price. The duel batteries are awesome. Its cheaper then most cargo ebikes , with more range and more torgue. Its heavy sure. But its cargo bike anyway. I do wish you could unlock the speed though. I dont care about the throttle.

Hope you're alright mate. I wear a spine guard. I deliver food and often hit over 40km legally 😅come of the bike a few times mostly landing face first. Worth it if on the bike every day like myself.
Hi mate I really like the LE20 it’s been my favourite so far but the Tesway x7pro seems better as it’s dual suspension. It has slightly less load capacity. I’m only interested in the legal speed in the U.K. or France. Which do you think is better? I’m liking the Tesway because of the dual suspension and the larger tyres there’s a trail behind our house 4mile long no tarmac a little bumpy in places.
The Tesway is a more powerful bike and could better deal with off road situations. It can be limited and comes with a non throttle hand grip. It's also cheaper. It also has off road tyres. I do like this LE20 though. They're different bikes really but that Tesway does an awful lot. And there's an X5 pro if you need step thru
Rear wheel skids are bad, as it's never fun coming off, but front wheel skids are worse because you always land on one knee before you have time to react, which is really effing painful. Been there, done that. Usually happens in winter, not so much at other times of year unless you encounter loose gravel on the tarmac when you're turning. Ouch! 😫
Yeah front wheel skids aren't nice. I didn't get much time to think but it appears I managed to get my leg out and roll so I didn't land to hard on anything. I think slapping the ground helped too.
This time of year you get micro gravel collects in classic wash out locations. The tyres are brand spankers as you can tell by the mold tassles. Also you say "Christ its cold" which means cold rubber. Perhaps get yourself some elbow protectors.
Tyres on anything of a two nature are paramount for traction and grip also temperature of road and tyre play a big part in staying on your machine or tarmac surfing most of these bikes have inferior rubber not really compliant with English road conditions really so if they are of a certain brand take note of how well they will perform as it is a fundamental safety issue , great video , at least you tested it's ability to corner and test it's durability , 50 kg is a monster weight maybe two big batteries is most of that weight and the extra metal work to support the passenger , a full range test would be interesting and are the preparing to trial a twin motor machine as it has two batteries 🤔 the evolution of these machines is rapidly growing and keep the clips going as they are informative if you wish to aquire a battery powered cycle , maybe a test of some heated gloves may be required if your riding in all weathers , I do like the mirror on your lid , how effective is it ? Is it expensive ?
The mirror is very good. By pidzoom there's a link in the description. I forget how much it is. Yeah it's extremely heavy. Engwe don't have a dual motor bike yet maybe they will soon. Thanks for watching 👍
@e-VRC been watching you for a while , like the honest testing , I had a merc battery cycle till some ass liberated it , It was locked up securely but they must have been watching me for a while as you get paranoid where to leave it and for how long , the home of cycles is the worst place to own one , ironic really but learned my lesson and looking for something with an alarm or solid place to lock it down so if it does get stolen then it is useless as the police give a crime number and don't really have the resources to deal with theft of a 2.5 K bike , they expect you get it insured and never ride it ..... Which seems pointless if you enjoy riding , anyway keep the channel going as I will find my next ride soon 🤞

Looking at the crash, I'd suggest that, considering how you kept mentioning how cold it was, you likely hit a small patch of black ice.... sure looked like the rear wheel 'stepped out' as you took the corner......
" Hello tarmac my old friend, I've come to land on you again... " Sorry, couldn't resist. Been there, done that. Hope you didn't get to scraped or bruised too much. The bike does look decent - if you like torque sensors. Just clicke3d on a US review of this bike. They get a throttle, and it will do 20 mph. So maybe a throttle could be fitted and the bike unlocked somehow ( for when you travel to Alabama again ) ?
@@zednotzee7 haha that's fantastic! I shoulda done that for the intro of the video 😅 Yeah they get all the good stuff. Throttle and 20 would be perfect for this 👌
The motor on this bike is actually 750w. They are naughty by down rating it. I am honestly surprised more companies don't do it since the law is quite vague. The motor is self rated by the manufacturer so if the manufacturer rates it at 250w, its rated 250w and thus road legal.
Black ice is sneaky, you can't see it, but you can slide on it! You were saying how cold it was, and your fingers were freezing - so you missed the clue!

People are complaining that this LE20 doesn't give you enough assistance power to maintain the speed at 25km/h. Now seems that engwe asked to update the software from 3.01 to 3.07. I think they are right about the lack of power assistance to maintain the speed.
I thought it was only Tom Cruise that did his own stunts .Hope you`re ok Bud . I think your pride took a harder knock than your body did .Seems a bit back heavy that bike , maybe that`s the problem By the way you probably hit a bit of black ice which usually looks like water until you run over it and find out different.
Passenger definitely. I turned off the main road so if a car had followed they would have been a bit slower and hopefully they would have been giving me a bit of room 😬😬
looks like you used the front brake on that turn as a motorbiker you dont hit the front brake on a corner and on a wet road your best to use just the back brake use the front when on straight its a common mistake
I did wonder but I generally know not to do that. I played it back in slow motion it looks like I pulled the brakes before the bend. Then let go to roll around but it slipped. My hand was resting on the front brake though. It's very odd as I don't believe there was black ice either which some have suggested.

Glad you were ok and managed to spot it. I may have to take up Judo and start at black belt 😅😬
Hope you're alright mate. I wear a spine guard. I deliver food and often hit over 40km legally 😅come of the bike a few times mostly landing face first. Worth it if on the bike every day like myself.
I've often thought of a spine guard when I'm on a skateboard. Definitely worth having if you're on every day 👍
Hi mate I really like the LE20 it’s been my favourite so far but the Tesway x7pro seems better as it’s dual suspension.
Went out today really damp had thought of you falling every corner lol
❤️
Rear wheel skids are bad, as it's never fun coming off, but front wheel skids are worse because you always land on one knee before you have time to react, which is really effing painful. Been there, done that. Usually happens in winter, not so much at other times of year unless you encounter loose gravel on the tarmac when you're turning. Ouch! 😫
Yeah front wheel skids aren't nice. I didn't get much time to think but it appears I managed to get my leg out and roll so I didn't land to hard on anything. I think slapping the ground helped too.
Engwe in general is a seriously good product. Never let me down. Always starts no problem. Easy to fix flat tires. It's ruggedly designed
Yeah well it carried on after this at least.
This time of year you get micro gravel collects in classic wash out locations. The tyres are brand spankers as you can tell by the mold tassles. Also you say "Christ its cold" which means cold rubber. Perhaps get yourself some elbow protectors.
Good tip on the elbow protectors
I hope you’re ok after the fall 😮
Yeah all good thanks
*Lovely bike, not so lovely fall* 😢
Hope you wasn't too sore mate, takin one for us 🤟🏽👏🏽
Looked like you was installin a Sky Minidish at 15min 30sec mark 😂🤣
Reminds me of an overzealous footy crowd, too many knobs to deal with 😭😂 I think I might Just about be able to assemble this one. I tend to get frustrated tryin to get it done correctly 😭
Grass lookin pretty green for Winter there! Battery keys in good locations 👌🏽
I can barely lift my 12kg eBoard, I see you liftin a 50kg eBike so easily 😂😭
Haha yeah it is a bit dish like. I was ok on the Sunday but started to ache on the Monday. It's going away now thankfully 👍
The E-V.R.C Judo Roll
😂😂🤣👏👏👏
😂😂😂😅
Looking at the crash, I'd suggest that, considering how you kept mentioning how cold it was, you likely hit a small patch of black ice.... sure looked like the rear wheel 'stepped out' as you took the corner......
It didn't look icy at all but Mrs Evrc was asking about it too so it could well have been.
Watching the video, l saw you squeezed the front brake quite firmly as you turned.
Whata mistaka to maka 😂
" Hello tarmac my old friend, I've come to land on you again... " Sorry, couldn't resist. Been there, done that. Hope you didn't get to scraped or bruised too much. The bike does look decent - if you like torque sensors. Just clicke3d on a US review of this bike. They get a throttle, and it will do 20 mph. So maybe a throttle could be fitted and the bike unlocked somehow ( for when you travel to Alabama again ) ?
@@zednotzee7 haha that's fantastic! I shoulda done that for the intro of the video 😅
Yeah they get all the good stuff. Throttle and 20 would be perfect for this 👌
hi..in uk.. you will find rearbrake on left.. always...... never change it.. ... tone U.K.
@@toneault7499 yeah Engwe seem to do it backwards sometimes. Dodgy
The motor on this bike is actually 750w. They are naughty by down rating it. I am honestly surprised more companies don't do it since the law is quite vague. The motor is self rated by the manufacturer so if the manufacturer rates it at 250w, its rated 250w and thus road legal.
That made me jump and I felt your pain 😢
I'm ok now thankfully ,👍
Ws it the cold weather that cost that? Or wetness or side walk please?
Possibly all factors combining plus new tyres.
😮omg hope ur ok my friend 😳🙏🙏
Yeah but bruised but fine thanks
Black ice is sneaky, you can't see it, but you can slide on it! You were saying how cold it was, and your fingers were freezing - so you missed the clue!
Yeah I'm still unsure if it was ice but obviously you could be right. I always thought black ice made the surface a bit shiney
@@e-VRC Depends on the direction of the sunlight (if there is any) - if the light is behind you, you won't see the shine.
Put your saddle up a bit pal you've got the frogs legs action going.
😂😂
happened to me i sware its thhose tires they use
@@nul1fe I would have expected road style tyres to be better but oh well 🤷
@@e-VRC its the rubber they're made from, they're quite slippery and not sticky/grippy enough for wet weather conditions
@@e-VRC o sht sorry tbf i was half asleep watching thought it was there normal tires that came with them, but i don't trust any of those cheap tires anymore, it fking hurt like hell when i went down the bike was on top of me but tbf the more pain was kinda my fault was trying to not let my bike get damaged so took the full weight of it lol
People are complaining that this LE20 doesn't give you enough assistance power to maintain the speed at 25km/h. Now seems that engwe asked to update the software from 3.01 to 3.07. I think they are right about the lack of power assistance to maintain the speed.
uk law is a joke which is why most igneous have it .
I felt it was fine but I won't complain if it becomes even easier. I'm not a fan of torque sensors but with a mid drive it's not as bad.
Haha. Thanks. I dunno it wasn't shiny or anything. Not entirely sure 🤷
How did the bike save you? very confused how the title relates to you coming off
@@tjwtf28 there's a massive scrape on the hand grips and the cage. I think the big cage helped keep the bike off me and took the floor before I did.
Good job there wasn't a car behind , or you were carrying a passenger when you fell.
Passenger definitely. I turned off the main road so if a car had followed they would have been a bit slower and hopefully they would have been giving me a bit of room 😬😬
@@e-VRCits nice to dream dude.
brutal crash, i had the same happen to me when braking, i slipped out haha
Glad you're ok
ninja roll 😂👍
😅😅😂😂
looks like you used the front brake on that turn as a motorbiker you dont hit the front brake on a corner and on a wet road your best to use just the back brake use the front when on straight its a common mistake
I did wonder but I generally know not to do that. I played it back in slow motion it looks like I pulled the brakes before the bend. Then let go to roll around but it slipped. My hand was resting on the front brake though. It's very odd as I don't believe there was black ice either which some have suggested.
@@e-VRC well you will know in future lol
@@e-VRC im glad your ok bud i think its more you pride takes a beating on that one and maybe a skint knee
Ouch! Hope it's fixable.
Yeah it's all ok apart from a few scratches
So dangerous ebike , BBC should add to their recent documentary against dangerous ebikes. 😂😂😂just kidding guys .
I'm so glad that documentary got a ton of hate .
I need to watch it
I didn't see the last part of your message on the preview haha

"Warning: Do not purchase these bicycles!
I am writing to warn others about the poor quality of these bicycles and the terrible after-sales service. My bicycle broke down after just one month of use, and I have been struggling for two months to get my money back. The company keeps making excuses and has even told me that they cannot help me until January 5th because of the Chinese New Year, even though I purchased the bicycle in the UK.
Please be cautious and avoid buying these bicycles, as you may end up in the same frustrating situation as me.

Do you really want your son on the back with those tyres?
I think it was more due to how cold it was and I don't take him out when it's too cold. Having said that, I hear ya. I had him on today and took it very easy 👍
@@e-VRC I think it's more to do with the wheels are too far apart and when you go round the corner it is dragging the back wheel round if you corner like on a normal bike, the additional pressures making it slide out when it is wet.
Diesel spill
Doubt it I couldn't see anything. I don't really think it was ice either.
You squeezed the front brake as you were going into the curve, it's always back brake touch then right.
But you know that anyway
