Snow Peak de Simple Solo - Compact Solo Camp with Minute Dome Pro. air 1p [shot with Sigma fp]

- This time, as a continuation from the previous simple camp ( → • ソロキャンプ - 五光牧場の見晴らしポイン... ), I set my theme as 'Simple and Minimal Solo Camp with Snow Peak' to enjoy my solo overnight in a very simple and minimal way, capturing scenes with the Simga fp.
The site is "Forest Park Oira-no-Mori," located Nasu-Karasuyama in Tochigi prefecture (栃木県那須烏山), a newly opened camping ground still in its pre-open phase (as of May 2021).

While I have a deep sympathy for the concept of Snow Peak, sometimes I am not in a mood to go out with a lot of gears loaded, as a solo camper. Though I don't think I can go 'Ultralight,' I generally prefer to have my gears reasonably compact. Of course, it's very cozy and comfortable to have a Snow Peak table and chair, but sometimes I go into the woods or some other places where I cannot just drive into. Or sometimes I just want to try something different.
(* By the way, "Forest Park Oira-no-Mori" has some areas you can directly drive into as well.)
So I just took one of the lightest and the most compact solo tent of the line-up of Snow Peak, "Minute Dome Pro. air 1" and only gears that can be packed into one single gear bag to spend a night in a simple and compact way.
How did it go? You can see it in the movie, but I can at least say I was very much satisfied. With a minimal amount of gears, you just have to spend a minimal amount of time setting up and packing, and all the loading, carrying and unloading in between. Also, I felt good when I was with only gears of my favorite. After all of these recent trips I've been on a hammock or in some other brands' tents, I found that Snow Peak is still very good in its own unique way.

The "Forest Park Oira-no-Mori" is still pre-open right now, but you can stay there in either "Light Forest" (suitable for Family Camping) or "Deep Forest" (suitable for heavy Bushcraft enthusiast). If you are not satisfied with campgrounds too well organized like a parking lot, you will definitely like this place.
Now the Golden Week is gone, and the summer is approaching quickly. Though I personally don't like to go out in the hottest season, I think I will still try to find places where I can have some comfortable overnights, like highlands, mountains. I would wish you all the best, please stay safe and healthy, while we will be having as much funs as possible, with as much care and precautions as possible. I will keep going on with my solo camping for now.

This movie was composed of the clips captured mainly by Simga fp with the newly released "28-70mm F2.8 DG DN," recorded on ATOMOS NINJA V in ProRes RAW format. With Sigma fp, I have been using 'out of camera' pictures until now, but with some new tricks I just learned recently, I couldn't help using them to tweak the pictures ** a lot **. ;-) I hope you understand that it is just inevitable for an amateur to try something new when he/she got new toys and tricks. I am sure I will be going back to the more natural taste of Simga fp, which is unarguably excellent.

ミニッツドーム、わたしは結構気に入ってますねー。確かにちょっとお高いんですが、素材も作りも値段だけのことはあるなぁ、と思います。
個人的にはそれなりに軽量で、ガイラインも含めれば結構な風にも対応できるのに設営・撤収は楽、というのがポイントですね。以前の動画で少し触れたんですが、ソロキャンプの時にテントの中でくつろぐ時間を重視するなら、夏は左右をメッシュにできたりするというのもあるのでやはりミニッツドームがいいかなぁ、という感じです。一方、焚き火をしながら、寝るまでは基本的に外にいる、ということであれば、ヘキサイーズとか、あるいはこのミニッツドームほどスペックの高くないものでもいいんじゃないかという気はします。

Would you recommend this tent for backpacking? I don't necessarily want a true ultralight tent, I want something that is light!

Yes, I would definitely recommend this for backpacking from my personal experience. However, it is probably depending on the definition of 'light.' 😉
This tent weighs almost 3 kg when packed, and you may need an extra pair of poles if you want to have a tiny porch with it. You can pack the tent body and poles separately to make them really compact and small, so the only question is this 3kg weight. It is not a big problem for me, as long as I'm not carrying any other heavy stuff in the backpack.
So if 3 kg is 'light' enough in your definition, this tent would be a great choice, very roomy, comfortable, reasonably sturdy, while it has only a compact footprint to fit in a small area. Hope this helps. 😊

ちょっと今回は最近の動画の方向性から少し離れてみました。キャンプ場は
ワイルドな方が好きなんですが、根が軟弱なもので😂、あまりガチで硬派な
ブッシュクラフト方面でない楽しみ方もありかな、とｗ
カレー、普通のお米でもおいしくできると思うんですが、普通のお米だと水も
火も加減に気を使う必要があるので、出かける前にちょっと一度試しておきたい
ですねー。リモートワークのひとり飯の日々はそういう実験もしやすいので
