Can you explain how to test the backhaul? Does the Linksys dedicate a backhaul? Is it user changeable? Does the performance on the backhaul change with a LAN cable between the units?
Yes. linksys will use 1 - 5ghz channel for backhaul. You cannot change the backhaul channel. If you use wired backhaul option then you will have all 3 wifi bands available for use. Appreciate the feedback. Please don;t forget to Sub + Like + Watch and share.
Yes. According to Linksys you can mix the Old with New. So you can only buy 1 unit as a main router and use the rest as satellites. Please don;t forget to Sub + Like + Watch other reviews
Thanks for the review. Question, for the guest wifi account, do linksys still use captive portal setup? This means that you login guest account using the web browser. Thank you.
What I want to see is a review where it is hooked up to a 400-500 mbps internet connection and they show us the performance when they have 2-3 rokus streaming 4k shows at the same time along with 2-3 amazon echo radios streaming music at the same time and a PS4 playing an online game and web browsing on a laptop. Then lets see how it can handle all those multiple streaming devices at once. Let's see that review please ! 🤓
A number of manufacturers do not follow the WiFi 6 certification, but are still marked as a WiFi 6 product. The problem here is that they do not follow the Wi-Fi Alliance standard 160Hz from the ax standard (up to 1733 Mbps - 4804Mbps on the shorter 5GHz channel), but instead 80MHz which theoretically stops at 450Mbps. What you have to do before you choose one, if you want to really upgrade the speed at home, is to check in the manual that 160Hz is max. Do not buy anything lower, because then the performance is also worse and you do not really have a real WiFi 6 router.
I don’t have any WIFI 6 devices. But I do watch 4K and have about 25 devices running, from iPads, iPhones, and amazon devices. When grandkids visit I can have 8-10 streams going. Been experiencing Ethernet and WIFI disconnects on my old Linksys Velop mesh. Work great for 19 months. Wondering if WIFI 6 will be better for my home, though no no WIFI 6 devices?
Yup. It will help with the number of devices you can connect, and can handle more streams. But also you have to keep in mind your Internet Bandwidth. If you are using 100% then you might want to look into that.
Does this Velop MX10 system allow additional AX5300 nodes to be added to the same mesh network? Our facility has 12,000 sq.ft. over 4 floors, I don't think the official 6000 sq.ft. specs for the 2 AX5300 nodes included with the MX10 are going to cover the square footage I need. I'd love to be able to add additional AX5300 units to the same mesh network. I'm having trouble getting the answer to this question. Any help appreciated!
I am not sure if we both understand each other. Let me give it one more chance. Sorry. I upgrade from a netgear router to a mesh system Velop Wifi 5 3 pks to extend my house coverage. Now I want to get a Velop Wifi 6 1pk. Can I use my old Velop 5 3pks and/or netgear router to use as an access point? if yes, how does that work. Would that actually extend my signal for more distance?
Yes. You can get 1pk WiFi 6 Velop, and use it as Primary Router, and use your old WiFi 5 3pk to use as satellites. Yes obviously it will extend your WiFi Signal if you place them at each corner of your house. I personally never tried, but according to LinkSys Documentation new Wifi 6 Velop can be used with WiFi 5 Velop.
Does this equipment also let you use the router part as port forwarding Another words can I do all The same things that I would do with a normal router by Linksys
Yes. Please checkout the Setup Section in the video and all the available settings. Please don;t forget to Sub + Like + Watch other WiFi 6 Mesh reviews.
Wow ! Linksys Velop wifi 6 and Netgear Orbi wifi 6 really spank the new Asus Zen Wifi 6 ! This Velop is better than the Orbi because it has more lan jacks and a usb jack. It's a no brainer, buy the new Velop ! 🤓
Hey, I have some question, can you answer me? So, can I put one of this VELOP next to my router and the next one at my office in the same house and connect this one with LAN cable to my PC? Will it work like a bridge?
Yes. It is now called LAN Backhaul connection. Linksys Velop supports it, checkout the production technical description. Please don't forget to Like + Sub + Watch other reviews and share.
@@DealUnboxing thanks for your answer. But it looks like that I need to connect the main velop with its childen with LAN cable so I need to connect them with 10m LAN cable that it what I do not to do :/
Thanks. Went ahead and ordered a single unit. Hardware wise internally. It’s quite the upgrade from my current EA9500 V1. As for WiFi 6 devices. I only have 2 iPhone pro Max’s in play. At least those will benefit for now.
Great review👍. However I would have like to have seen ac devices tested at the same time to see if they were improved by the Wi-Fi 6 back haul connections of the router and satellite.
I got a netgear router. Then upgrade to a velop wifi 5 mesh. My question is: can i use my netgear AND velop altogether or do i need to sell my netgear router? If i get the velop 6, do i need to sell/get rid of my velop 5?
On the Linksys Support web site, it says that Velop can have separate SSIDs for 2.4GHz and 5GHz. In the Linksys app, you go to "Wi-Fi Settings", and then on the "Wireless" tab, click "Show More". (See that Linksys Support article here: www.linksys.com/us/support-article?articleNum=247428.)
Apparently I'm not nerdy enough for this system. My speeds are slower than my old Orbi RBR50 AC router. Can anyone help with some settings? Or should I just say this sucks?
I got the single unit and replaced my Uverse PACE modem/wi-fi modem/wi-fi router by disabling the wi-fi and connecting the MX10. Using my Android mobile phone made the setup easy. I got a huge improvement immediately that included impressive speed increases, sometimes up to double at more extreme distances of say 50+ feet on my screen porch! The continuity is excellent too easily trumping the up and down speeds of the ATT Pace unit. I'm almost having no slowdowns at all and I'm pretty sure that if a slowdown happens it is in my ATT Uverse network and not due to the Linksys MX10. All this and none of my devices are Wi-Fi 6 capable! I imagine when I get a Wi-Fi 6 equipped laptop I'll get even more robust reception and speed if that is even possible. I realize the Linksys MX10 AX5300 isn't cheap at a current price of about $390, but it offers very high quality reception distances and speeds like I've never experienced and I heartily recommend the system.
A lot - With 4x the capacity of WiFi 5, WiFi 6 provides enough bandwidth for as many as 50 devices. And MU-MIMO (Multi-User Multiple-Input Multiple-Output) technology allows downloads and uploads on eight devices simultaneously. Appreciate the Feedback.
