    Fantastic video as always- thanks for getting the information out there! I’ve still not received my McCloud remedy letter, and nor has anyone I know. I think we were all supposed to receive something by October 2024- is this yet another deadline that’s going to be kicked down the road indefinitely do you think?!

    I was in the 1995 scheme (NHS)from 2001 - 2012 and left due to job requirements the scheme until Aug 2016. I rejoined the 2015 scheme. Am I eligible for the Mcloud remedy. According to SPPA email correspondence " in order to be eligible for Remedy you must have been a scheme member on 31/3/2012 and 31/03/2015". Is this correct?

    Thanks for this video very informative... we are now in the middle of april and still no details on how to apply for a contingent decision. Part 2 of the consultation stated that applications hd to be made by the end of Sept 24. Nhs scotland have released an application to 'opt in' but nothing from nhs england. Are there any updates ?

    I have a quick question on NHS pensions. If you retire early, but sustain yourself with alternative sources of income (ISA, SIPP, ect) and therefore not draw on the NHS pension until retirement age. How does that affect the pension reduction. Many thanks

    How to get the pension up to date in terms of pension record (for GPs) if the portal only shows info from like 2015-2016 and nothing else? Can't even check for incorrect information if there is absolutely nothing on the portal.
    Where can I find or get that information supplied?

    Brilliant video. Thanks as always. Such a complex mess to try and resolve.
    One thing intrigued me though. Early on - one of your guests says that there will be an opportunity to revisit the pension choice for those who may have moved from the 95 to the 2008 pension scheme ?
    Out of curiosity - why is that ? I wouldn’t have thought that decision had anything to do with the 2015 scheme and the remedy ?? It was years earlier ??
    (I personally did switch to 2008 as my calculation showed I’d be better off if I worked past 61 years on the newer scheme….. but curious as to why I might have an option to revisit that decision as part of this remedy ?)
    Thanks as always for your brilliant content.

      Yes that’s right - you only have until May to decide and should have got a letter from NHS pensions. faq.nhsbsa.nhs.uk/knowledgebase/article/KA-04466/en-us

      Ah I see. It’s for those who moved to the 2008 scheme in 2015? Not those who moved in 2008/09 originally ?
      I didn’t realise they gave another chance to move to the 2008 scheme in 2015 :)
      Thanks as always - really appreciate and enjoy your content.

      @@MedicsMoneyHi I am Sonia I have worked in the NHS since 2001. I was in the 1995 scheme till 2008. I joined the 2008 scheme till 2022. I was moved to the 2015 scheme in 2015.

    Thanks for the fantastic video Tommy. Would you recommend the NHS pension if you would like to leave the UK and work elsewhere in the long term?

    • @MedicsMoney
      @MedicsMoney  9 месяцев назад +1

      Well it depends 😂 but bear in mind if you work in NHS for eg 5 years then leave the NHS and never come back at retirement your NHS pension can be paid out to many countries in the world.

    This is so complicated!! Jobbing medics just want to go to work and get an appropriate pension at the end of their career. How did the government mess it up so badly and make it so complicated...

    • @MedicsMoney
      @MedicsMoney  9 месяцев назад

      It is complicated but it’s a LOT simpler than medicine. It’s important that if you are affected you take action and everything you need to do that is here www.medicsmoney.co.uk/what-does-the-mccloud-judgement-mean-for-my-nhs-pension/

    Hi I'm not a doctor but work as a Medical Engineer in an EBME department, I'm think of early retirement in the next 12 to 18 months when would it be best to get a forecast and what is the best way to get a comparison of whether to keep the split of 2008/2015 or to have all of my 2008 up to 31/03/2022

      Thanks for your years of hard work in the NHS.
      NHS pensions are issuing remedial pension statements that in theory will help you decide. www.medicsmoney.co.uk/what-does-the-mccloud-judgement-mean-for-my-nhs-pension/
