Dalby(Original illustrator): Fancy! Awdry saying that my drawings of Percy made him look like 'a green caterpillar with red stripes' I just hope he won't put that comment in one of his stories. 'reads wooly bear' Dalby: Aw nuts.
i love the idea that the Reverend knew this was his last book, and he just had to get in his last jab at Dalby before closing up shop (even though he hadn't worked with him for years!) I get the feeling the Reverend was the kind of person who really held a grudge against you if you had wronged him

I just realized that 3/4 stories in this book have farmers getting the short end of the stick. The first story, farmer Sam’s lime kart gets destroyed by Percy. The second (this one), the farmers’ wheat blows everywhere, lastly, in the third story, Mavis blocks the crossroads so farmers can’t cross.
@petersam4 I couldn't reconcile it with the text. For some reason I equated it with Percy fuming "Green caterpillar indeed!" rather than what happened at the end of the page where the treacle's upset over him. My mum bought me the book, read it to me a couple times and then the only other time I had any of it read to me was when I asked my Dad to read me Toby's Tightrope - right at the end.
@@JackWProductions Thomas already got karma by getting scared by Percy, so maybe Thomas was cross with Percy for possibly rubbing it in that it was causing Percy to be late with his deliveries and that's why Thomas was angry with Percy. Thomas learned not to be so boastful, and Percy got his karma for getting conceited after scaring Thomas. So if anything they both got egg on their faces.
@@supermariof0521 Toby gets his comeuppance as well in "Toby's Tightrope", serves him right for aiding Percy in the ghost gag, and then throwing him under a bus by laughing at him in this story.
@@Goji73 Toby's Tightrope had NOTHING to do with this. Toby nearly falling off the bridge was Mavis's fault cause she told the trucks to give her a bump and they dicided to do so with Toby instead.
More to the point, what would Iron Bert, the big engines and Edward say if they saw Percy covered in hay? I'd like to see them getting covered in hay instead.
Wilbert should’ve had Thomas role in this episode, and Dalby should’ve had Percy’s role, and I think cranky should’ve been the one who dropped the treacle on dalby.
Because Percy has to stop on the way back to the station to collect the hay and there is only one line going up and down so Percy has to clear the line for Thomas to leave
this karma for Percy for teasing Thomas I don't know what ever possessed him to play a trick on his friend but I'm sure he has learned a valuable lesson play tricks on one and the other will get back at you
Wait a minute, when Thomas insults Percy when asking who's been late every afternoon this week, Toby is there. Shouldn't he be taking the wagons to the hills?
yeah, it served him right for taking his ghostly trick too far, If Thomas and Toby laughed, imagine what Daisy, Annie, Clarabel and Henrietta would've said XD

so accurate.
An iconic Thomas insult was born here.
Another one of my favorite railway series stories
Am I the only person who has never noticed Toby's angry face in the title photo of this book?! Once I found it I can't unnotice it!

Well to be fair, Thomas was still mad at Percy for pretending to be a ghost.
Love this, it’s a nice payback for what Percy has done.
The Story Ends in the original TV time! "4:30" Nice Story!
Tramway Engines is the last story written by wilbert awdry and illustrated by mr. and mrs. Peter Edwards that until his son took over. Good for him.

Most bad things that happen to the engines are from karma of some sort, but I don't think Percy did anything to deserve being laughed at.

Toby wasn't rubbing it in in thomas' face and in the first illustration you can see he's tired of Percy's boasting

That look Thomas gave Percy when he got back was like he found out that Percy was the one that gave him that scare.

I remember I hardly ever asked for this story to be read to me because I was frightened of the picture of Percy getting covered in treacle.

Thomas's Sasuke to Percy's Naruto.
At least he became nicer in the Christopher Awdry books and later TV episodes.
