Sir it is not moment of inertia, this term is used in circular motion. You should have used either 1. Momentum (mass×velocity) 2. Inertia (ability to maintain state due to momentum).
At Shastri Bridge, Indore Jn. BG, when electrification conducted, similar problem was there,to match electric lines with safety standards, engineers solved it by lowering Rail tracks.
This system of 'No power' section under a bridge is extremely risky and dangerous. If by chance loco pilot does not pull down the pantograph, this will lead to severe damage to overhead equipments and this loco fails holding up of traffic for long time. Good that Railway is seized of matter and with co-operation of local authorities are building a new bridge nearby. If train stops with locomotive under bridge it will be not feasible to pull up first or second pantograph. Go and examine the site again. There has to be a safe distance before pantograph can be deployed at stopping position of loco. So if loco stops exactly under the bridge they will need to bring another locomotive preferably a diesel locomotive to extricate from this problem. If by chance train stops just before this bridge, starting train again will be a problem as train will not have sufficient speed and momentum to cross no power zone. Also for EMUs complicated but precise operations must be done to pull down and later pull up the pantographs at each location of the train. Any mistake by motorman of EMU will lead to damage to equipments both on train and on ground. I do not know how safety commissioner has allowed this to to operate since long. Long back Bombay division of WR, from Churchgate to Virar had only 1500 V DC supply to run all EMU local trains. Then WAM locos could not come into Bombay Central. So only diesel locos hauled all trains to Bulsar (or Valsad) where locos were WAM locos were attached to go to Ahmedabad. Later WR introduced WCAM locomotives (numbers from WCAM 21800 to WCAM 21830 initially) manufactured by CLW and later by BHEL. These loco was capable of running on 1500V DC supply between Bombay Central and Virar and beyond Virar to Surat, Ahmedabad and Delhi side on 25KV AC supply. So to switch from one to other there was a no power traction zone between two traction poles after Virar station. So a train coming from Virar to this section on 1500V supply, with sufficient minimum speed when loco pilot pulls down the pantograph, changes gears and switches to accept 25 KV AC power supply. So train on its own speed without power crossed this no cable no power zone and enters the 25KV AC supply zone. Later loco pilot pulls up the pantograph and with new supply power supply continued the journey. There were sufficient number of warning signs placed on the side before this no cable no power zone to warn and instruct the loco pilots how and when to pull down and pull up the pantograph. This was conditions between 1975 to 1990s. Now all over Bombay division power supply has been changed to 25KV AC supply, making compatible to any loco to enter Bombay. At Igatpuri station on Bombay Mammad section for a train to pass from 1500 V DC supply to 25KV AC supply, CR was changing the locomotive from WCM loco to WAM loco through a complicated system of power switch between two system of supplies.
@Ashish Saxena Not just difficult but risky too. In case of any mistake to pull down the pantograph besides damage to train top equipments there is also danger of short circuit and danger to human lives coming in contact with high tension wires or equipment.

Tnx for this video..l'm belonging from this station and l observed these mechanisms.in this situation locopliot doing there works by seeing some sybols which r attached in some poles.But some locopliot forget to down the pantograph that's why they fall in many trouble you can call it a little accident also..Mostly the MEMU trains are face this problem and get a little accident the pantographs were broken by hitting the bridgefor that the route has locked and the other tains were delayed by this..lndian railway immediately should remove this bridge..

There are always emergency batteries which can hold charge for a couple of hours, under each coach. They are used for emergencies such as a coupler failure and train parting. So these batteries can take up the slack for a few minutes of disconnection.
