- I've been blogging for over nine years! Now it's my full-time job, but I started it as a creative outlet while I was a freshman in college. It's one of the most rewarding experiences, but starting one nowadays can seem like a daunting task. Here are my top tips for starting a blog.

I agree! And sometimes, it's what often discourages people--having to start from the beginning and conceptualizing what to write. Are you a writer as well?

OMG the ending was amazing, "I don't think you should buy blogging tips from anyone." Why can't more bloggers be like you (lol). They know that they grew their skills on their own, but now they want to charge a premium. I wish you much success; I hope I can utilize all of your tips to help my blogs grow and flourish.

Thank you for giving me that boost of confidence to start a blog! Writing has always been a passion, no matter what it was: note, how my day was, family, short stories, etc. I wanted to write for newspapers first, but that a bit out there. Then I wanted to blog so bad, but forgot about it (I was close to setting up and the blog site never finished). After that, I discovered freelance writing. But I want to become a blogger. I'm still in college, but I can blog about my college experience during covid and what it was like growing up being part of Gen Z and all the chaos we've created, and many other topics. And I explored your website a bit and I love that you have so many niches/topics! I also really like your setup. Thank you for helping me reignite an old passion.

Great content but I want to praise your background music. I noticed it... barely. Pleasant addition to the audio. However, it did not overwhelm your speaking. It didn't interfere. Good job!

For blogs its just perfect there is an automatic blog maker. All you need to do is make it yours and make it even better looking! Also a sales page is easy to create and get some income :D

I totally agree that not putting pressure on yourself is KEY. I use to start blogs and then just give up because they weren’t turning out like the idea in my head, but this time around I am just going for it and it’s much more sustainable!

This is the best advice I’ve seen yet regarding the ins and outs of starting a blog. Thank you so much for this! I have had a blog in the past but didn’t keep up with it. I had taken on more than i could chew at that time. However, I am looking to start again. It will just be blogging a couple days a week this time. Only blogging though.

For as far as ideas go i literally went on pinterest and found a 30 day blog challenge list and that's how i got started with mine. Not a pro yet but spit balling ideas for now

I've had to learn this year when blogging I need to commit to a schedule. I've been so in and out of touch with my blog to a point i didn't care because I had so much with school and life going on. Every time I spread out the amount of blogging I do; I always tell my readers, "so very sorry, been out on long term health issues or school has kept me. I am still alive though!" I try to make my blog be about my personality, which is very sarcastic. I am having a hard time figuring out my writing style for my bogs. Any tips on that would be awesome. Im going for communication degree, so my writing style is very important for me.

I love to write poetry, fiction, and nonfiction. I have always wanted to start a blog with some of my poems and stories. I am nervous about putting my writing out there because I dont want my ideas stolen. Have any tips?

Perhaps try self publishing and just promote them on your blog! Seems a bit less sketchy than posting your work straight onto the blog. Also I’ve heard that self-publishing is relatively simple and you could make more money than by simply blogging.
Create them in an ebook you can legally make your own to avoid plagiarism. Not sure about the details of it but that may be something to look into

I've wanted to start a blog for awhile. I wasn't even aware that you get those benefits later down the road. I've always wanted to get people to hear my voice and opinion.😂 I guess I had the right idea for starting. I just need to get a laptop that I can have my personal space on. Thank you for the tips! Thanks a lot for the encouragement. I love journaling. So I recently started a blog. I enjoy the experience so far. I do have a length issue. I like to discuss complex topics in depth. I get so thorough that the post gets long. Subdividing that stuff is difficult. I like the tip to just start blogging. That is nice. I can keep going, and I can get better at practice. I like the tip for quantity is to do what works best for you. That is so nice. I know that short snappy posts are popular. It is also popular to to break down posts into teeny tiny paragraphs. I find this to be very difficult to do. I think maybe I should just do what works for me and just write longer posts. It is easier to write long posts than short posts. Agonizing over what to split and what to trim is so hard that I discourages me from the writing process. I have tried to keep posts down to 1k words. Now I see that is not realistic, not with my skill level. 1k words is only enough for a a long paragraph or two and that is it. I can't cover a topic in depth, even a very specific one. I ought to be more generous on my self. I would like to learn what are the benefits of longer posts, and then I can capitalize. I can give myself a word limit of 3k per post and one page per paragraph. Maybe I can tighten the limits gradually once I get practice.

Yes, just start before you ready! Because you're never ready. Haha. I started my blog around 2015, yet there are a lot of things that happened. So, I started again in 2019, it keeps growing now!

Fellow blogger here. I am glad I stumbled upon your video. I have only been blogging for a year, but steadily building an audience. I have a decent amount now. I agree consistency is important. I blog once a week, sometimes twice if I have a lot of good ideas I want to express. I hope to find success with this, but know it is a long journey. I do enjoy creating content that helps people though, so I don't mind. I like the things you mentioned here, and it motivates me more. Thanks!
