    I'm an acoustics consultant in the UK. Regarding windows. It's common for windows to feature trickle ventilators where your room may rely on openable windows to deal with overheating. So slapping a panel over the window where you may have trickle vents or windows designed to be openable to deal with overheating, then you'll be doing things very wrong. The best way is certainly to us a thick curtain that provides MASS and thus forms an impedance mismatch between the materials and incident sound waves.

    What’s the idea behind using the Focusrite into the Apollo, when you could just use the focusrite?

    • @ADAMAudioBerlin
      @ADAMAudioBerlin  2 года назад +4

      Hi Austin, good question. Running the Focusrite 18i20 ADAT into the Apollo Twin allows you to utilize 8 more channels within UA's control software. This in turn gives the ability of using their unison plugins on anything running through the Focusrite's mic pre inputs or line-inputs. This is also a personal preference for the monitor controller used in this studio. I hope this helps, and thanks for watching!

    Awesome video! Are the larger tower speakers on the sides older Adam "home theater" speakers? I'm assuming these are no longer being produced, correct? If I was to build a home theater, I always envisioned the Adam S line being great for LCR and surrounds! I'd imagine something like the S3V / S3H would have plenty of headroom and easily be comparable to expensive passive home theater speakers

    I live in an appartment with hardwood floor and have neighbors above, under and next to me. My main concern is I want to watch movies and play music while disturbing them as little as possible. Any tips on diffusion, absorption or anything els that would let me use my sub without needing to worry too much? Cheers

    • @ADAMAudioBerlin
      @ADAMAudioBerlin  2 года назад +3

      Hi Johannes! It is necessary to differentiate the acoustical room treatment with acoustic panels and diffusers (that will give you a proper and good sound in the room) with soundproofing (that will prevent the outside sound from coming into your room and vice-versa). If you treat your room with panels and diffusers you will have a healthy sound in the room, but this will go out of it, as your room won't be soundproofed.

    Have you turned a bedroom into a studio? If so, what gear have you added to the space? Let us know!

    • @emiel333
      @emiel333 2 года назад

      Yes I did. Although it’s still under construction. I did measurements last week with a good hardware SPL meter. Inside and outside. Although I have plenty space, 8 meters long, 4 meters wide, 2.5 meters height, there are many issues. On the side, there’s a window. On the front there’s a window. In the back there’s a window. That’s a difficult challenge but I’m sure that if I continue measuring the other details like the reverb time inside the room on different frequencies I get a lot more insight. Still it won’t be perfect. At the moment the isolation and treatment is little and doesn’t the job correctly. I really need an expert out here, free or paid that’s no problem, who can help me out with this one. I will provide all the necessary important details and measurements of the room and a blueprint to the person that can via internet email, so someone and me can together decide what’s important. I know that the bass build up in the corners is extremely high. I want to get the best sound my monitors can output in my room. Equipment? MacBook Air new model, FL, Steinberg audio interface, tisino interconnect balanced shielded nylon 6.3 trs jack to balanced xlr made for audio signals, ADAM AUDIO T7V pro studio monitors (wow!!), Soundcraft analog mixing console with hardware Lexicon effects (12 ch IO, EQ high mid low, trim, aux send double headphone monitoring, usb, 48v phantom power, xlr main master output etc), brennensthul outlets with 8 sockets in built power surge Lightning protection, angled input, safety button, grounded to earth, aluminium heavy expensive, brennensthul outlets with 4 sockets, protection and two usb a outputs, cable management system, lots of cables!!!, Konig and Meyer mic stand, Samson C Pro Studio hybrid condenser mic with gold diaphragm, 10 meters high end xlr mic cable, midi in out on three different hardware, two budget keyboards Casio and Medeli only €599 each for midi, small 25 key for quick takes, Cubase 10, Logic Pro with Dolby Atmos rendering, mixing and printing, too many plug-ins, hardware digital drums Yamaha DD55 vintage mint condition midi in out 5 din, two monitor stands for ADAM AUDIO T7V with spikes to isolate from floor, two comfortable chairs, two keyboard stands, acoustic guitar nylon budget, more power outlets with switches, MacBook stand, led strip 5 meters around studio desk must shield 16 m colors, three Philips wifi bulbs 💡 led for amazing lighting effects to suit my mood and a lot more. I stop for now otherwise my comment will be to long. Im sorry for that.

    For my future smaller bedroom studio, would the a4v with a separate sub be better than a7v?

    • @ADAMAudioBerlin
      @ADAMAudioBerlin  2 года назад +1

      Hi Freddie, for a smaller setup than this, we would suggest the A4Vs and a sub. You will get all the low end you will need that way without taking up valuable space in your studio, especially if you plan to have the monitors on a desk like in this video. Thanks for watching!

    I started with just a few panels and a similar setup. It was a disaster. Dead room in the high end and everything else was boomy. It would have been better if I never did anything. Too many Broadband absorbers everywhere and carpet will make things worse imo. Unless you’re treating like 3 feet everywhere to have equal reverb times

    • @dougleydorite
      @dougleydorite 2 года назад

      @@ADAMAudioBerlin I have! I replaced the carpet with hard floor and I kept all my broadband absorbers on first reflections only. Everything else all over the room has scatter plates in front of the the traps. Much better translation, but very costly.
      Next step will be Trinnov, but it’s not cheap.

    They should definitely say something about the type of bedroom etc because not everywhere is America. Wouldn’t hurt to speak to actual bedroom producers too. This was quite unhelpful actually. SweetWater have done a better job…

    • @ADAMAudioBerlin
      @ADAMAudioBerlin  2 года назад +1

      Hi Jordan, we're sorry you found this video unhelpful. What exactly do you mean by "type of bedroom?" This room for instance was a very typical bedroom, and we hope that it was applicable to many bedroom producers. If you can expand on what you mean, we'll be sure to create more content tailored to that 👍
