@@lemonkaysweet First "Six Nations" was in 1883...139 years ago - it was the Home Nations Competition then and the teams were England/Scotland/Wales and Ireland. No France and the Irish couldn't win a game...look at it nowadays and how its very nature has changed in tandem with the fortunes of the countries involved. The RWC is only 35 years old and the sport is changing dramatically across the globe at incredible speed. 10 years ago had somebody said that Japan would beat S.A in a RWC they'd have been laughed at - nobody laughing now though. The countries that have always historically played Rugby Union will forever have a great presence in the sport but it will be shaken up a lot over the coming years and the days of the top 5 or 6 teams having it easy over the other nations are fading fast in truth. 5-6 years ago the French were playing a lot of very average rugby - look at them now. Look at Ireland now. Everything changes and every old order gives way to a new at some stage. And that's great news for rugby.
I would like to draw attention to the fact that pool A and B with South Africa, Ireland ( also Scotland),France and New Zealand means that 2 of them are leaving the competition early in 1/4 of final. Thanks for World Rugby with its draw 3 years before. Without this brilliant idea it could have been the best World Cup ever. Nonetheless with so many teams leveling up it will probably be thrilling.
The last time Scotland got to a semi final in the rugby world Cup was in 1991 lost to England 9-6 in Dublin since then we haven't got that far sadly would love to see it again but the south Africans, all blacks, France, England,Argentina will be there I expect to challenge and Ireland look strong we will see how far they can go and Australia too.It's gonna be very open. As a scot I'd love us to challenge strongly for once but still feel we just lack those quality players in defence and attack that can get us over the line should be a cracking rugby world Cup.
