I met the pastor. He's the real deal. CBC has a solid reputation throughout San Antonio. They do outstanding ministry for the orphan, the poor, and the widow. They did a reverse tithe a few years ago where they passed around buckets of cash where you take what you need or give to those in need.

Hi there! I attend CBC. For those asking how the Pastor knew Anthony's name in the video, here's some context: This interaction wasn't staged or planned. It was actually the second time Anthony had shouted out with some colorful language, prompting Pastor Ed to ask for his name and handle the situation with grace and compassion. So no, it wasn't a performance - just a genuine interaction that speaks volumes about the heart of our pastor and church. ❤

If there's a church you are attending, seek out small groups or ways that you can serve in the church. Both of these help keep you connected with others who can be there for you. Life isn't an easy road, but Jesus gives us a way to receive a peace that we cannot understand (Philippians 4).

This is my church and this is the heart of our Pastor and the church. I was present at this service, it was not staged, it’s real life. Pastor meets and greets every first time visitor after each of the five services he preaches. We are a mega church of about 27,000, but it does not seem like it, everyone is loved and cared for.

Pastor Ed is the man! Mega church or not, this would still be his heart. I once was at the altar during a service for a very long time. Just broken before the Lord. Once I got up to go back to my seat right when he’s getting ready to go preach, he followed me to my seat, embraced me, encouraged me, and showed me the Love of Christ.
Followed that up by him calling me out by name during the service, mind you this is a massive church, and saying it was great to get to know me by name that day. Not typical of a mega church pastor.
Just an awesome guy. Leads a great church here in SA, TX!

Years ago in a little church I had went to for years right in the middle church services while the pastor was preaching a man walked in who lived in the holler behind the church. He had been drinking and was kinda loud but no one told him to leave or anything and he ended up getting saved that night. Years later my oldest son married a sweet girl (who gave me 2 beautiful granddaughters ) and I was telling her about it one day, I don't remember what brought it up, and she said I know who your talking about he's a cousin of mine. I didnt know he was her cousin. I never forgot that it was a beautiful thing. He had been walking out of the holler to go get more beer. A boot legger lived across the road from the little church. As he walked by he could hear the preaching from outside. He had been pacing back and forth in the parking lot for a while I reckon til he couldn't take it any more he said he had to come in. You never know whats going on inside of another person.

If anyone is wondering, this is Community Bible Church in San Antonio, TX. This is an amazing faith community and Pastor Ed is an excellent leader. It’s not outside of the norm for congregants to bring money to the stage & bring needs to the leaders during service. This church also has a heart for the homeless community in the area. He does have security in the audience but he’s also very open to his flock and their needs.

I go to cbc. I love it there . There is such a love of God and each other at cbc. We promote community. Growing in circles as a family of Christ. We’re not just rows of seats. Pastor Ed illuminates worth . He grew up in the projects so he understands what is needed is not just throwing money at people.
Oh it’s honestly “chaotic “ pretty often . Holy Spirit moves and he will redirect the conversation to what’s happening. Security is around . There’s a lot of security. So he is safe and the rest of the church are protected. But anyone can walk over to stage . It’s happened before many times for many reasons.
Thanks for sharing about this special moment ❤

I’m an ordained elder as well and you have to let the spirit of God flow as it wants to the Holy Spirit is the control of worship and service not men so if we plan on speaking on a particular thing, and God wants to do something else as well as done and if he has people that need to be reached in touch healing or need a word at that time And that’s what it is. Yes, things should be done in decency in order, but God‘s greatest command to us is to love, and we have to be obedient to him so in doing that everything falls in the place I do believe in security I do believe in being aware of your surroundings cause enemies always attack is always spiritual warfare, protect us Lord he’s got us and we have to trust that. Amen.

God is showing the church "in action", how to love one another, how every soul is valuable to Him, that He will leave the 99 "secured", to look for the lost one. The Pastor is praiseworthy for being sensitive to the leading of the Holy Spirit, and the wisdom to deal with the situation; showing love and leading the lost to salvation, while teaching truth to the church.

Spot on. Healing yourself from trauma and sins is the most important thing that you can do for yourself. You owe it to yourself to be the best version of you that you can possibly be with no hurt or sins that drag you down and make you become someone you were not meant to be. God loves us enough to want us to be healed so that we can help people who need healing above all! Bless God!

    • @Renewed85
      @Renewed85 8 месяцев назад

We can't heal ourselves. We are not enough. We need to look to Jesus for our healing. We will never be the "best version of ourselves" until, only those who have surrendered their lives to the Lord, we enter Heaven.
We will always struggle and lack on earth. It just may not be such a difficult struggle at some points, but, Jesus promised that He will be with us through it. What he gives us, even if it's more than we think we can handle, Jesus will walk with us. The Holy Spirit prays for us.

I also attend this church and watch the pastor like a hawk since it is so large. During his sermons, I have seen him consistently demonstrate this level of love and emotion. Since the incident, security has stepped in to guide and assist people in understanding that there is a process they must follow to be heard and helped. Last Saturday's service demonstrates this. Unfortunately, it wasn't included in the sermon video (4/27/2024 @ 1700). Nevertheless, though I am skeptical of megachurches, his consistent display of godly love and theological understanding has convinced me that he is walking with the Lord and leading a trustworthy church. If you want to trip out, the church gives buckets full of money to people in need and Jesus shirts during specific services.

I go to CBC and pastor Ed is the best preacher. From the outside I can see how it looks like a mega church but it does not operate like one. No prosperity gospel never ask for tides. He has a doctorate degree and is highly intelligent the way he can break down the scriptures. I encourage you to check out some of his sermons online.

This is so beautiful to watch a church get the point of a church being the hospital to the sick. I pray for Anthony that he stays on track. God bless this church 😭💕

I attended CBC in San Antonio for about 5 years and served on the worship team. I can say this is a normal thing to happen. Love pastor Ed and his love for people in the city and our church. My wife and I miss CBC as we moved to go to med school but still feel God working through everyone at the church.

This reminds me so much of Jim Cymbala ministering to a homeless man in his church (Brooklyn Tabernacle) in New York City.
    This is beautiful.

It just occurred to me. God seems to be teaching the world what true love is; first Bishop Mar Mari forgiving, loving and praying for his attacker, and now this one causing disruption to a church service. Correcting the corrupted "love" that the world preach which would lead to damnation.

In all of these videos on this situation that I've seen, CBC members just out to let us know this was real and pastor Ed's heart is genuine. I love to see it!

This is what God has called us to. We need to be ready and willing to plant seed or water, God will give the increase. This was so beautiful.

A most inspirational act indeed. I do hope that Anthony finds and pursues fervantly, eternal life. He needs to be shown how to seek God diligently and connect with Him for therein will he find all that he needs. That will not only lift him from the street but also make him part of the tool God uses to lift others from the pits that they are desperately stuck in.
