This is really cool content, I've not seen anyone else do anything like this outside of voice acting over manga chapters (LR Shion). Its really cool to see someone reacting to manga with a face camera and have genuine moments of enjoyment in what they are watching.
Hi great reaction as usual: Some added details/preamble: 1. The Ippo v Karasawa match was the fight immediately preceeding this. So Imai actually took notes on that fight on how to fight Itagaki and the outcome of that match was weighing heavily on Itagaki's mind 2) Right before the match, Itagaki actually had a spar with Ippo. Takamura realises that Ippo was reading Itagaki's moves 2-3 steps ahead and could easily have KOed him. It is together that they bring up the recommendation to Itagaki to include infighting against Imai, as a way to mix things up and mess with Imai's rhythmn 3) Between Rounds 5 and 6, Ippo does go to Itagaki's corner hoping to say something, but can't think of anything to say, so just gives him a look. After the match, Itagaki thanks Ippo, since even though Ippo didn't say anything Itagaki read it as "Do your best" 4) Yeah Imai is a huge Ippo fan boy, when Imai was sparing with Miyata later on for the Randy fight, he actually complained that Miyata seemed to enjoy beating on him more than his other sparring partners, not clueing in that his Ippo haircut was why.
I really like a line Kamogawa says in this fight: "When Itagaki took that step forward against this powerful fighter, he also took away the momentum and cut open a path towards victory. Its not something he could have done with just his natural instincts, that path would never open before just cheap words like talent. This path was cut open by courage! And Itagaki is determined to follow this path!"
Really loving these videos, my man! The manga has some spectacular fights not present in the anime, and it makes me happy that you'll get around to them in time.
I think the fourth round can be a little confuse because Itagaki surely looks way worst than Imai but still connects more punches Also I love this fight for how different it feels, is like being on the shoes of Ippo's opponents, love you reacted of two of my favorite matches and hope everything goes well for you, you're the best!
Fun fact in the manga during the fight all of the Kanagawa boys were saying how unlucky itagaki was because this was a 6 round match not a 4 round match like every other match in the tournament because if it were a 4 rounds match he could easily just avoid getting hit and win by decision but since it was 6 rounds imae have a better chance of hitting him
I think the reasoning was that even if Imai took the last two rounds decisively the judges gave the fourth round to Itagaki as well so he just squeaked it, there's actually a bit in the interval between the fourth and fifth I think where they talk about how unfortunate this match up is cause if Itagaki had matched up against Imai in any other stage of the tournament it'd have been an easy win for him since it'd only have been four rounds long and he'd have taken it on decision right there but because of the extra two rounds Imai had the time he needed to get in those big blows to take Itagaki's legs. The other neat thing about the Rookie Kings tournament from this arc is as well as the finals being Itagaki vs Imai, the Miyata vs Ippo match, just before this match Itagaki had to fight Fumito Makino who was the Mashiba of the tournament with the three key points of using the Hitman style, incredible desperation to win at any cost and having literally one fan in the crowd, so it realyl was an echo of Ippo's Rookie Kings tournament. If you can try to check it out cause I remember it being a good match especially with the context of before the tournament Makino was the one who gave Itagaki his one pro loss they mentioned in the entrances
@@BurridgeMartialArts604 You're regular with all your content, no need for apologies my way mate. I just hate that I miss heaps of your streams due to the time zone differences.
I thiink it comes down to the punches thrown and itagaki for sure takes that and launched so many punches idk if that will consider on the judging and idk if it was 5 rounds but 3 round goes to itagaki. For the next manganouchi Monday I want to suggest Richard Bison vs Takamura its what of the most popular fights on the manga
I know! I recorded it on Sunday and was supposed to be put up on Monday but we lost power and I lost my edit so had to redo it. It's a Monday video in spirit!
Please make this a regular on the channel. I want you to react to Mashiba vs. Sawamura, this is a wild fight
I'm waiting for vaske1234 or Julian to put up an MMV of that fight! Nobody seems to have it up at the moment
@@BurridgeMartialArts604 Julian put a teaser of what the MMV will look like
@@BurridgeMartialArts604 one of them had it in three parts, but I forget which one. Might've been taken off, I guess?
@@BurridgeMartialArts604 I put the fight in the playlist in multiple parts
Edit: I'm just seeing that it's missing 1 part...hmmm
Imai is a huge Ippo fanboy, thats why his hair and fighting style are the way they are.
I recommend you check out the rematch of Itagaki & Imai for the vacant Japanese featherweight belt
Trying my best to do these in order they were written so we will get there eventually!

The instant he thinks of Aoki, he almost lost. They did Aoki dirty 2x in two panels.
They absolutely flame Aoki so many times in the manga

Watching you relive the excitement I had when first reading these chapters is always a pleasure.
Thanks for allowing us to see it!
Pretty cool for imai to have the hair outline and ace of ippo, mashiba's crazy eyebrows and sanada's hair bangs 🤣

Itagaki and Imai are like Ippo and Sendo; eternal rivals for sure.
Hope to see Takamura Vs Bison

The fight that woke up the Other side of Itagaki
Dude you aren't kidding! Itagaki was wild on this one

Woohoo Makunochi Monday on a Saturday 😁
Video title has it as imai vs kyosuke instead of itagaki vs kyosuke, jsyk! (Watching the video now haha)
Fixed!!! Thank you!
Please do Takamura vs Bison
I agree with you no way in hell he deserved to win imai destroyed him and the knockdown also but imai is a beast no question about it
Please do ippo vs sawamura!!!!
Love your work Max!
Sorry it took so long! Was supposed to be out Monday but the week got insane!
