This doesn't take anything away from Taylor's talents or abilities, it's just that IU is so next level in her vocal abilities and acting (which plays heavily into her her performances be they MV's or on stage). The tonal quality of her voice and her absolutely unreal breath control are simply unmatched. These skills are most notable when you here someone cover one of her songs. All the covers I have listened to have all been very good, but when you go back and listen to her sing, you immediately notice a difference. That difference comes from several of her skills and abilities that make it extremely difficult for other singers to completely match. Her breath control allows her to control when and how she uses her vibrato. For example on this songs performance she held a note for an extended period with a solid steady tone, belting it without allowing her voice to go into vibrato. I have seem several other professional singers try to duplicate this, most notably on My Sea her live performance at the Golden Hour concert, and none of then could do so. I have heard a professional voice coach stated that covering an IU song in its orginal key is extremely challenging. And that most singers have to make changes to them. Rolling Stone Magazine in January of 2023 released an update to their list of the 200 Hundred Greatest Singers of All Time. IU became the first Korean singer to make the list. This is especially impressive considering that at that time she had not performed a concert in the US. She easily one of the greatest vocalist alive today. I highly recommend all 5 songs from her mini album, of which Shh.. was one. 4 of the songs, Love Wins All, Holssi, Shopper and Shh.. each have MV's. The 5th I Stan You has a concert Live clip. I also recommend you watch the MV's before watching the live performances, they will give you context and meaning.
