I have the XE trim with almost 2000 miles in under three weeks of ownership. I have had two longer trips that have put almost half that mileage on it. On these trips, I had the cruise set at 75mph and had three other adults in the car with me and I have an overall average of 49.8mpg. On my 9 mile, 15 minute daily commute, I regularly get 51-55 mpg. So the numbers Kia provide are fairly accurate.
If you like the idea of this car, consider upgrading to the EX model. The price is only slightly higher, but you get so many upgrades over the base model. Push button start (negates the whole "Kias are the easiest car to steal" thing), larger and much better looking infotainment screen, wireless phone charging, heated front seats, turn indicators in the mirrors for better visibility, 10 way power adjustable driver's seat, more advanced collision detection/preventions systems, cruise control with auto distance follow/stop and go, rain detecting wipers, and leather steering wheel.
Nice! I've been looking at the Sportage, but I want a little better mpg... Also, the last time I looked, Niro didn't come in a regular Hybrid that I saw. That makes a big difference to me here in Oregon.
I looked at a Niro hybrid at a dealership. I like the car but I'm concerned about the reliability. Maybe I'm wrong, but I consider the reliability of KIA to be lower than Toyota or Honda. On the plus side, KIAs factory warranty is 10 years or 100,000 miles. Another drawback is not having a spare tire on the hybrid models. That really bugs me, although it's becoming common on many cars today.
For me personally I probably preferred that Kona Limited because it was faster and fancier, but it was also more expensive and nowhere near as fuel efficient. So not an exact comparison
We've had a Kia Telluride for 3 years, i love it. Also have a prius, love the fuel mileage but hate driving a small car. Love driving the Telluride better
@@ParthRathod103 There are several different trim specs of the Niro. This is the most basic. Other trims have heated seats. In fact, the very next one, the EX, does have heated seats.
I have the EX trim of the Niro. It's more of a hatchback than an SUV. The ground clearance and seat height is more of a traditional sedan than SUV. Inside, it's very close to the dimensions of a RAV4... more leg room front and back, actually.
The LX and EX trims are 54/53mph because of the wheel size. Higher trims have 18 inch wheels and lower mpg ratings. (and a harsher ride because of them)
Prius is built better, Kona is more luxurious interior and tech-wise. Sedans also will always be more aerodynamic and fuel efficient than SUVs/Wagons/etc.

Thats pretty impressive bang for the buck and awesome MPG's !
Agreed!

Thank you for watching!
45 mpg hiway, 50 mpg in town, using real time method of calculation, not on board computation. I keep track religiously. doing 70 mph.
Thnx!
were you doing 65mph for that mpg test?
Great video!
Thanks for the info
I'm still torn between the Niro and the Sportage. lol

how does it compare with the Hyundai Kona cousin thaat you also reviewed?
For me personally I probably preferred that Kona Limited because it was faster and fancier, but it was also more expensive and nowhere near as fuel efficient. So not an exact comparison
What does the torque mean in km. How fast can this go in km
what is the current wait time for this car ?
You have to contact your local Hyundai Dealership for that information
I would never buy a KIA but 50mpg and under 30k DAM!
I’d get a Prius 2023 but dealers want 42k now
Then you have to adopt the "Prius owner lifestyle". Tie-dyed shirt, Birkenstocks, etc. 😂

@@NotSoFast71 are you calling me a Hippie, I’d rather be a hippie than a person who looks like a squid driving a Hyundai
Does it have the Front heated seats and Normal Cruise control?
Yes to the normal cruise control no to the heated seats
@@CarDietrich I guess here in canada they are offering heated seats. Not in US may be
Could be, the model I reviewed is a US model. You have to move up to EX trim to get heated front seats on the US models.
@@ParthRathod103 There are several different trim specs of the Niro. This is the most basic. Other trims have heated seats. In fact, the very next one, the EX, does have heated seats.
Which more comfortable niro or soul
The Niro is probably a little more comfortable between those two
Para cambio en palanca de D a N no hace falta apretar el botón.. por supuesto y como se ve en video, de N a D tampoco..
Looks like it doesn't have SUV height clearance? Seems low to the ground
Ground clearance is 6.3”

@@NotSoFast71 Just for reference, the RAV4 ground clearance is 8.1"
What trim level has power liftgate?
SX or SX Touring
Found it strange only the driver can locks the doors but each passenger can not individually lock their own door.
Some of them are mislabeled, it's supposed to be 45 Hwy MPG.
Nope it’s based on tire size

are you a tall guy? or the car is small? ok... got the answer at 6:12 yes you are tall :)
The new Prius.
Prius is built better, Kona is more luxurious interior and tech-wise. Sedans also will always be more aerodynamic and fuel efficient than SUVs/Wagons/etc.
Skipped the radio again.
Do you mean like the AM/FM/Satellite radio situation?
Not wireless Apple Car Play - you need a cord.
I have this exact car and mine doesn't need the cord
The LX has wireless carplay. The higher trim levels do not. They have wireless charging, instead.
How fucking tall is this? Jesus christ
