    • @metaspencer
      @metaspencer  2 года назад

      Oh yeah, a tough process. My best advice is to know how much you need to bring in a day and estimate how many days it'll take to complete the job. It's a rough method but tends to work out for me overall. I have a very long sheet of variables I drew up a while back I'd be happy to send you. My email is metaspencer at gmail

    I have some fairly small pines to cut down. I’ve never used a power saw. I use an ax and a hand saw. I’m getting tired of the manual approach. But I’m nervous about getting injured with power equipment. Is there a middle ground? Is a saw saw easier/safer for a novice?

    • @metaspencer
      @metaspencer  3 года назад +1

      Great question. I tend to suggest a good sharp hand saw unless you're really comfortable with a chain saw. Chain saws are just so, so dangerous. Once you get your notch in place with the hand saw, a simple back cut can get that pine down. Maybe you've tried a bow saw? A good one can cut very fast. Good luck with it!

    You know in Forest Gump, he says life is like a box of chocolates? Well we could say decisions are like five ash trees, some decisions are dead and not worth pursuing, some decisions need carefully ending not entangling them in other decisions and some decisions need a tree surgeon to sort out.
    Ok appalling analogy but thanks for the video.

    What type of rope do you prefer nylon vs polyester or other? Thanks

    • @metaspencer
      @metaspencer  3 года назад +1

      I'm kind of a cheapo when it comes to rope ... but for my lifelines that I really rely on I buy good quality 16-strand climbing ropes. I tend to prefer static lines but have some with give ... as for nylon vs poly I haven't paid much attention to materials I guess but I prefer a good soft rope with a tight bend radius
