Whatever engineer that decided to put the PCV valve in that location should get the idiot of the year award. My Tacoma takes about 10 minutes to change the PCV valve on.
Say it louder for those in the back! The headlight housing on this model of corolla are a pain to fix as well because you have to remove the bumper to get to them. Very silly design.
it gets worse i tried to do one on my 2arfe and i couldnt access it because its behind the intake too except its on the back of the engine. I said nope ill jusk keep adding oil

I also have a 2013 corolla s been doing that same for awhile now changed throttle body plugs wires battery alternator and still have the problem going to try this thanks man
It is definitely something very common with this select group of years. A lot of people seem to have the same issue and haven't been able to figure it out. Let me know if it helps you. It helped mine for roughly 2 weeks and then out of the blue it started up again.
I have the same issue with 2013 Corolla, gonna try changing the PCV, and while at it change the intake gasket and PCV valve tube. Will update here once I'm done.
It happened to me, it does sudden dropped change on rpm. It resolved by changing my car battery. I drive almost everyday, charge my phone, ac, radio most of the time. Even though the battery has 5 more months left on warranty. I might also change the PCV valve and the gasket for 4 cylinders.. I have 15’ Corolla LE with 206k on it.
@@bossadamsgarage This fix also rarely does anything unfortunately. I still have a intermittent stumble and an idle that likes to hover around 800RPM. I recommend people look at their valve stems and injector ports while you have the intake removed. Mine were filthy. Why??? Who knows!
No update yet. This is probably the trickiest issue I've ever come across in all the vehicles I've owned. Others are looking into the situation as well. I'll be uploading as soon as I figure out this issue. Seems to be very common in this year model Corolla.
I just finished mine. Unbelievable they expect us to change this out every 30k miles. I got down to that last nut on removal and (of course) it dropped out of the socket down into the abyss. I spent 90 minutes doing the job..but almost 2 hours finding the nut's hiding place. On earlier models, they used to have the PCV valve right on top of the engine. It was super easy to change out. Not sure why they did it this way..very frustrating and just really bad engineering.
Also…do you also experience this shudder if you… 1. Either reverse or drive forward with your steering turned the full way? 2. Roll all 4 of your windows down and hold or roll 2 back up and hold??
@@bossadamsgarage have you ever had the ac recharged or had the compressor replaced? My cars got a grind that I haven’t noticed much anymore now that I start the car with the AC OFF. I haven’t recharged yet but air is weak. Might replace the compressor and look into upgrading cooling system parts along with coolant flush
I haven't replaced the compressor on this vehicle. I have only charged the system once before. Other than this studder problem, the car runs great with no issues.
@bossadamsgarage I have a 2010 and it shudders just a bit right when I start to to put the car in park, or when I back up and stop, and get ready to put the car in drive. I really don't notice it much when I stop at a light, but occasionally. I dread changing out the PCV valve. Damn engineers.
The lower bolt is a lil bit tricky to put back in..I ended up braking the water outlet to the radiator hose 😅😂.. so it was a learning experience don’t lean on it cus it’s plastic

I would start by replacing the air filter which some people don’t even know what the car has it 😂 than it can be a lot of other things causing instability 😂
Try spraying some carb cleaner around the intake while it's idling. If the rpms go up and down the intake gasket is leaking. You probably shoud have changed it with the PCV valve. ruclips.net/video/NrT-FruVKxI/видео.htmlsi=m6IiASnEo7-PR2vr
