In the tradition of a fine Fleetwood Mac tune, power and traction for "Time to Wake Up" is found in perfect percussion and bass at the hands of two of the best in the business. In this case, two Kings founding members-longtime Superlative drummer Harry Stinson and the late, great Michael Rhodes.
The driving percussion is so prominent it summons visions of Sgt. Pepper's basshead, and the bouncy tune rides on a bassline that holds the song's wheels firmly to the road while making perfect time.
The delivery is Beatle-familiar. The BIG orchestral transition and ending are reminiscent of "A Day in the Life." But-though the overall message could be from any of the Fab Four-the lyrics are woven more of the fabric of the singer songwriter-folk movement than the British Invasion.
This cadre of singer-songwriters' commitment to summoning a big new life in the face of whatever challenges await us emerges as a story of survival, a celebration of triumph as reflected in project's latest single: "Time to Wake Up."
